Bio
29 year old and I've been roleplaying since I was a child! I've seen and written a lot of things (some of which we're not gonna talk about >.>;) and my passion for fun story writing has yet to dim at all! I'm really excited at the potential of what we could cook up here together!
I do have to work a full-time job, which sucks. My schedule can be a little unpredictable because of it, but I can guarantee that I'll be available to make a post at least daily! And I do my best to always inform my partner(s) of any absences I'll be taking.
I enjoy OOC friendship just as much as IC work together, and I find my best roleplays are the ones where I can chat with my partner(s) as we develop our tale! When we're having fun, everyone wins!
So what about you? Have I caught your interest? If so, feel free to give me a ping, and let's chat about what we can get up to together!
That would be for the best, yes. While players certainly have the option to start at higher forms and levels, doing so will mean less time spent with those of different levels. Golds and Bronzes would very likely not have the same missions.
"History is a fascinating field of study, is it not? In a time where our ancestors seem they could not have been more different than we are, we instead find that we have far more in common than we ever thought possible." --Alakazam
In the world of Pokemon, life has long been a peaceful existence. While most towns remain scattered across wide distances, Pokemon have generally been friendly toward one another, and even those who live out in the wilds tended to be unfriendly at the worst. What few criminals made their wicked mark on the world found few to aid in their endeavors, and most were swiftly caught and imprisoned. Alas, as is the case in so many stories, the peace was not meant to last.
The Shattering. An event of unknown origin that to this day defies our efforts to expose its true nature. All at once, the skies above our humble world appeared to shatter, a dark veil overtaking the sun's light and blocking out the moon and stars. When at last it faded away, everyone felt an unusual sense that something had changed... and it did not take long to discover what.
Darkness. The terrible shroud that had blackened the world had vanished, but in its wake, the darkness within the hearts of Pokemon everywhere began to stir. Suddenly, "wild" Pokemon became far more aggressive, battling with one another to stake their claims of territory and dominance. Criminals were being broken out of prison, and many fled the safety of their villages to engage in heinous acts. It was a dark time indeed. And yet, in the deepest darkness does light shine the brightest.
Brave and heroic souls began to join their strengths, slowly but surely fighting back the newly wicked Pokemon that now spread throughout the world. They fought valiantly, driving the darkness out of their homes and steadily regaining the safety of their homes and villages. The chaos within the wilds began to fade, though it remains a dangerous realm even to this day. When the worst of the fighting was over, those who were determined to see peace reign on united together once more, this time to discuss a more permanent solution. Thus were the Guilds established.
Guilds were nothing less than the beacons that kept their homes and neighbors safe, training others in the ways of exploration and rescue. Their mission was two-fold: to protect others and to seek the truth. The Shattering had irrevocably changed the world, yet even now, little is known of it. Thus have the Guilds begun their efforts to restore peace to their broken world. The time has come for new heroes - heroes such as you - to answer the call.
================================
And there you have it! A grand adventure just waiting to occur. But such an adventure needs heroes, and that means YOU! ...Potentially!
The Shattering is the main focus of the story, as it's a very recent event where we're starting off - it happened just five years ago! Thus, while most villages and "civilized" areas have been made safe, danger still lurks just outside the gates... There will be combat!
As explained before, I want to set this up as a tabletop style of roleplay where I will be acting as the DM. I'm thinking a group of four to five would be a good start, and once we get in our groove, more can join in. After all, Guilds always attract recruits! The players are free to form teams with one another or even risk going solo if they so choose! Battles will be balanced according to where they are, just like the games, though I may throw in a "local big bad" to shake things up. Imagine battling a few Weedles only to find a swarm of angry Beedrill just over the next hill! There will be danger and excitement, so expect things to go awry and to have to think on your feet at times. Ultimately, it's about the adventure!
Those interested in joining should post a character sheet here in the OOC section, which I will then approve or suggest edits to. Though this is filed under Advanced RP, I hope rather than discouraging newer roleplayers, this will encourage those who want to really dive into their characters and story telling! With that said, here's a few things to know before getting started:
1. The DM has the final say! My task in this is to give you all a world that you can explore, cause actions to have consequences, and ultimately make sure everyone is having a fun time! To that end, I will be directing the story in ways that occasionally challenge or even outright oppose your characters. This is meant to be done to enhance the overall story! That said, I recognize I am not perfect, so private discussion and questions are always welcome. Even so, DM has the final say.
2. No mature content. This is a Pokemon world, and therefore the content we write should remain true to that. T-rated at most.
3. No god-modding! During this roleplay, the players will largely dictate how their characters handle combat. I don't want to bog things down with rolling dice every time (unless the players prefer that method!), so combat will mostly be free-form. That said, no one is perfect, and even the NPCs have battles they might not win. Besides, scars make you look 20% cooler, science suggests!
4. Have fun! Seriously, after all is said and done, I want this to be fun for everyone involved. If you aren't enjoying yourself, please say something! If we can't enjoy our own story, who will?
Note that this template is not required! It's simply something to help you get an idea of who you want to be in this roleplay.
Pokemon: (No legendaries. Pseudo-legendaries can be discussed!) Nickname: (This isn't required, but if you want one, by all means!)
Image: (Strike a pose!)
Guild Rank: (Bronze, Silver, or Gold. Depending on your starting rank, you'll have bigger and more dangerous responsibilities!)
Personality:
Background:
Three Strengths: (Things you're good at!)
Three Weaknesses: (Things you're not so good at!)
Greatest Fear: (Don't worry, I definitely won't use this against you at some point. Hee hee hee~)
I'll be populating this later - before we start, don't worry - with the various locations that can be visited and explored!
Hello everyone! Sorry for the long silence. Life has been... hectic. Big bumps and all that. Just giving you all a ping here to say that I'm back and alive again, and that I'm definitely gonna write up an official OOC for this tomorrow! Thank you all for being patient!
Hi everyone! Imp here! I've been sitting on an idea for some time now about possibly playing out a roleplay involving Pokemon, and after some thought, I decided I'd like to try something in the PMD universe!
I'll write up the big details and stuff if we get enough people interested, but here's the general summary! Basically, we'd be playing the members of an Explorer's Guild (not Wigglytuff's; this'd all be unique!) and going about our business exploring places, rescuing Pokemon, and doing general PMD stuff. However, wicked forces would be at work, turning Pokemon feral and causing them to attack those around them with no warning! And as a capable, dependable Explorer's Guild, we'd be called upon to help track down the source of this mysterious phenomenon and put a stop to it all!
I'd essentially be running things as a kind of DM, mostly letting the players explore and go on missions as they please. I envision this as being a more long-term RP, so there'd be no real rush on things. And once we get settled and start really going, I might even open it up to other players to join in!
All I ask is that you be able to write at a more Advanced level, as I'm hoping this will be a deeper and more detailed RP. Battles will probably go largely on a post by post basis, and unless people really want a system of dice in place, I'll probably leave it up to the players individually to determine how the battles go and how well or poorly their characters do.
If this sounds fun to you, please reply below! If I can get four people to want in on this, I'll make the OOC post and really fill in all the details! I hope to hear from you guys soon!
Hello everyone! Imp here, writing up my very own interest check! I'm looking for partners to write some long-term stories with! I figured I'd leave a few ideas and see who might decide to bite! I'm available for posts daily, so my partners can expect at least daily responses, and probably multiple times a day for most of them!
-Quality Over Quantity! I don't much care for minimum post lengths, so long as each post is one of substance that allows the other person to work off of it! I myself tend to match my partner's length, be it a few lines or a few paragraphs long!
-Real Life Comes First! Be it you or me, if someone needs to step away for a day or three to deal with reality, by all means, do so! If it's you, then I simply ask that you let me know if possible. If me, I'll definitely let you know!
-Mature Content Maturely! In short, I am open to 18+ content, but I would prefer to focus on story and development. If you just want to write smut, please say so up front!
-Give And Take! In a roleplay, everyone should ideally be putting in effort. I know we can't always have perfect posts, and the occasional simple response is totally fine. But if only one person is writing everything and the other isn't doing anything to contribute, that kills the fun. And what's more important in a roleplay than fun? Speaking of!
-Fun Over All! The goal is always to have fun writing stories together! If we can do that, then anything we write is an automatic success! If you're not having fun, please feel free to say so! I won't take it personally, and we can discuss whether to try a different approach or simply part ways on amicable terms!
Now that that's all out of the way, allow me to present to you my ideas! For most of these, I'm happy to play either role and I'm happy to mix up genders as we see fit! What's listed below is only for outlines that I hope we can build off of!
My New Demon Roommate New roommates are always an adjustment, but imagine if yours wasn't even human! But how did the demon arrive? Were they summoned? Are you cursed? Or maybe they just slid in and said "This is mine now!" What kinds of antics might occur? What horrible fate awaits the poor human? And what might happen if the secret is exposed?
A Whole New Virtual World! Virtual Reality has become so advanced that full-dive technology has finally borne fruit! People are logging in to see worlds they never thought possible! Video games, city builders, grand adventures... or just browsing the internet in 3D! What sorts of adventures can occur in virtual reality? ...Wait, what's this Error Message popping up?
Stranded... IN SPAAAAAACE!!! You're not sure what happened, but you're definitely not in Kansas anymore. You're not even on Earth anymore! Thankfully, you've got a space suit and enough of a ship left over - is that even your ship? - to form a shelter. Better still, you're not alone; there's two of you in here! Lost on a planet that's never been touched by humanity, how will you survive? How will you get home? And what else is on this planet? It may not be friendly...
Your Wish A genie in a lamp. You heard the stories, but how can they really be true? Well apparently they are, because here she is, right in front of you! And she's offering you three wishes, just like the tales! Can this get any better?? Well, while you're pondering that and thinking of what you want, perhaps you should pay attention to that gleam in her eyes. Be careful what you wish for!
Downsizing Something's off about today... and that something is you! You've shrunk down to the size of a doll! All those old toys you never got around to throwing out are coming to life to greet you... but are they happy to see you? You did leave them in the attic for a loooong time, after all... Let's hope they're not angry about it. (This one can swing between a light-hearted adventure and a darker horror experience!)
Isekai Gone Wrong Oof, sorry to hear you died! But hey, now you're getting reincarnated, and that's always fun! Now you'll get to be a hero, saving the world and... wait, you don't look... human. And your skin was definitely not this color... And why are your teeth so sharp? Oh crap, you've been reincarnated as a monster! Inspired by "Reincarnated as a Slime", will you manage to survive the would-be heroes hunting you down?
Scavenging Secrets In the distant future, space is less a frontier and more a way of life. Humanity has taken to the stars and made a name for themselves among the various races of the galaxy. In the many years of space travel, a lot has been lost and blown apart, and scavenger crews can make a pretty decent living picking through the wreckage. But what happens when our team finds something more ancient than humanity itself? ...And who else might be looking for it?
I'll add some more ideas as they come to me, but this should be a good starting selection, I think!
This is a list of fandoms I'd love to play within! Please note that while I am open to playing with canon characters, I myself will always play - and indeed prefer to play with - original characters!
Anime/Manga: Naruto Bleach One Piece Demon Slayer Chainsaw Man Pokemon Digimon Yugioh (be warned: I stopped watching after the third series)
Games: Final Fantasy World of Warcraft Dragon Age Mass Effect Fallout Persona Star Wars (especially the Old Republic era!) Stardew Valley/Harvest Moon/lots of other farming sims Fire Emblem
I'm also open to suggestions, if you have any! Feel free to ask; I'm always eager to learn about new fandoms!
And that's about it! I hope to hear from you guys soon, and I very much look forward to our future roleplays together!
