@Doc Doctor the way Im reading it, the hand lets go of his right leg but the spindly stump manages to wrap around his left leg instead and I decide if the ripping leg attack succeeded in time or not?
I was unsure where to go with this recent development, but I finally decided. At first I thought it would be funny if Evvie uprooted the tree to send down so umbard could grab on, only to reveal your guy behind it, but decided to go with this idea instead. In all honestly I don't think he could be hiding from her behind there unless she totally missed where he ran off too while chasing him. She'd have a bad case of having the idiot ball on that one...more so than normal. XD

P.S. I like the spelling of Umbard better than Ombard so am sticking with it.
@Doc Doctor

Umbard stabbed his muscular arms through the dirt in a last attempt to secure something before he was pulled down into the void. What his finger trips brushed against was…roots of a nearby tree. He snatched onto them by the handful, wrapping them around his forearms by spinning his arms around in circles. With this technique he was effectively anchored to the tree, causing the mysterious evil below him to struggle far greater if it was to take him down. The tree was practically groaning from the stress as it bent slowly from the pull on it’s roots. Some minor roots snapped but the larger ones held true, at least for the few moments that this struggle would be taking place in.

Evvie leapt down into the pit and let loose a torrent of flames past Umbard’s feet. Unfortunately it seemed like the tree was past it’s tipping point by now and was creaking louder overhead than before.
@ImportantNobody Never played a Zelda game personally, but I've heard they're good. Regardless, there is no game harder than Dark Souls (haven't beat it yet, currently farming souls to level strength and dexterity to use BKH, to beat Gwyn with).

I've never played a bad zelda game (never played the cdi versions so I can make that claim) so if you like puzzle/adventure games it's really good. Plus the music has such catchy tunes they stay in your head for years. Oh yeah, and ocarina if time is the highest ranking game of all time and breath of the wild is number 12 on metacritic. Just throwing that out there. No biggie. XD

It's only not as hard as dark souls because, being open world, you can easily find ways to avoid fights and if you weren't as big of a cheapskate as I am you can create large amounts of very useful food to restore yourself, or use your most powerful weapons if you're in a particularly nasty bind. Weapons break in this game so you can't use your op weapons for very long. If you have no choice but to straight out fight the toughest of enemies and aren't filled to the brim with food, I stand by saying it's easily as hard as dark souls. Then again, you can restrict yourself in many games to make it as hard as dark souls should you choose, but in this game it's more like just being slightly careless and you can be put into such a difficult position.

I'm on the guild discord (not that I use it). An arena channel could be neat, if it was active and on-topic.

If I joined, half the discussions I would derail to be about Evvie or some other zany character idea. Or talk about my Zelda Breath of the Wild obsession. I swear the game is harder than dark souls unless I changed my play style and went around getting ingredients to craft a bunch of good food to boost my hearts and stuff. Even at 6 hearts a large number of enemies one hit kill you or at the very least take you down to extreme danger. Now that I'm at 9 I can still get obliterated in 2 attacks easily unless I go to the weakest enemy variety, who do more like half a heart damage to me now.
I'm inspired by an anime called Mayoiga (which got terrible reviews, I think undeservedly if it's indeed a parody and not unintentionally bad).

I don't want the tone of this roleplay to be overboard silly, such as randomly pulling out a rubber chicken while in their underwear, shouting "leeroy jenkins!", and slapping the villain to death. No, I want something more subtly funny, like the reader would be questioning their sanity if this is indeed a parody or not rather than it only being a clear comedy through and through. Basically, the characters likely have weird quirks and make stupid decisions and we make fun of stuff in the genre, etc. Maybe plot points are built up like they will be important and then just fall by the wayside or turn out to be hilariously anticlimactic. Red herrings all over the place, so that all of us can play a red herring if we desire and even I don't know who's really in league with the evil forces.

The plot is that our characters all see a mysterious add for a vacation hotspot out in the mountains in the middle of nowhere. It's possible our characters were the only ones to see the add because it's haunted or whatever. Maybe it's never made clear. What we do know is that once we arrive it appears long run down and we hear mysterious noises out in the trees. Our tires are all slashed so escape is too dangerous at the moment. The roleplay involves us trying to survive until help arrives or perhaps try to escape on our own. However, this roleplay is free form so it's up to the characters to decide what to do, no matter how stupid. I want groups to form that are at odds with each other due to paranoia and whatnot.

Anyone interested? Also, feel free to suggest a name for the roleplay.
If we don't have enough people, perhaps something along these lines is like a 1v1 and if they can't decide amongst themselves which is best then a third person acts as a judge, perhaps amount two others also doing a 1v1.
I'm involved in a lot of battles so I'll give someone else a chance to do this one. If nobody bites for a while then I'm in.
Consider me tentatively interested in the newbie tournament. No promises but it seems interesting.

Anyone have any ideas to make it more interesting? Getting people who are not normally involved in the arena to give ideas what they want in the tournament could be very beneficial.
Yea, a second chance bracket might be more ideal.

Or maybe prelim matches that decide people's seeds to be used in the actual tournament? This prelim counts as giving everyone a second chance. Of course it would be better to intentionally lose if you only cared about winning the tournament itself, but if we make it more about fun then that shouldn't be an issue. The main issue for that might be if people get self conscious if they get a super bad seed.
