Hazel stumbled back into Mark as he grabbed her. She was very definitely shakey.

"Heh... yeah. Good show." Hazel cleared her throat and forced a smile at Terrance, slowly lowering her heart rate. "I think you just cost everyone the cheesecake I was going to bake, sir. I hope you're happy with yourself." She gave a laugh, and finally got herself to relax. She KNEW it was a prank! Why had she let her adrenaline take over? She would just have to get them back late. She would just have to think of something.
Hazel shrieked, backing up in shock so quickly that she nearly fell over Mark. She righted herself as best she could, grabbing his arm and yanking violently, trying to dash up the stairs. She was grateful for the light he had flipped on, grateful she could see clearly. A small numb line of thought drifted serenely underneath the adrenaline the was propelling her legs forward.

One of the others is playing a prank... It was too late to listen to that small voice. She didn't care if it was a prank, she didn't care how stupid she would look, she just wanted out of the basement.

"Hey!" She shouted, trying to get the attention of the people upstairs. "Hey!"
Hazel kept the flashlight steady for less than a minute.

"Mark, are you messing with me?" She asked, poking him in the back. "What's that sound?" She turned, facing the hallway it was coming from and shining the flashlight down it.

"Mark, are you pranking me? Because I will go upstairs and leave you down here to fix the boiler in the dark."
Are you still looking for people for this? I would love to hop in, it sounds fun!

Sure! I think you'd have to be the last player admitted for the moment, though. Feel free to make a character!
Hazel caught Haley's glare at James' back. Her eyes widened in slight surprise. Mark wasn't kidding about the tension in the air with those two. World War Three, indeed.

She turned to follow him, placing her hand lightly on his back between his shoulder blades in order to keep up. Her eyes were having some trouble adjusting to the gloom of the basement. She didn't like to admit it, but someday soon she would have to get glasses. No one else in her family needed them. Why couldn't she get those genes?

Her other hand brushed along the wall, trying to be sure she kept her balance. 'Screw it,' She thought after a moment, and placed both hands on Mark's shoulders. It made her feel better.

"You definitely know how to show a girl a good time." She said nervously. "I guess it's some kind of real estate law the basements be creepy, huh? Or maybe that's just an Alaska thing."
Nancy was determined to have a good day. Refusing to grit her teeth and instead taking a long, slow inhale followed by a long, slow exhale, she forced a smile on her face. Her back was aching and she hadn't even done anything! Maybe she had twisted in her sleep or something. But she was not going to take a pain killer yet. She was still too new, and this wasn't like a regular hospital. This place had unstable people. She wanted to be fully alert. Or at least as alert as her back pain allowed.

Softly, she knocked on the door to Dr. Thomas Green's office. "Sir? It's Nancy Harper, the new nurse. Do you have a moment?"
"I'll come and help! I'd love to see more of the house. The basement can't be that bad, can it? The worst that happens is we summon a demon or something. No big deal." Hazel grinned at Mark.

"Let's do it! Adventure time!"

Hazel had just gotten the necklace free from her hair when she saw three girls walk up the stairs and into the rooms nearby.

"Hey, how are-!" Hazel was cut off from her greeting to the newest arrivals by doors shutting. She raised an eyebrow as she finally got the necklace on and picked up her boots. Maybe they just hadn't seen her. They were probably tired. Trying to shrug off the not-quite-encounter, Hazel made her way down the stairs and to the living room, adjusting the pendant to sit right below her throat and running her fingers over the beads- one on each side for each family member. Hazel smiled.

"Thanks, Mark! I feel much more human now." She smiled around at everyone, set her boots by the door, and grabbed another pizza roll. Holding her hand out to the new person downstairs, she said "Hi! I'm Hazel. You must be James? Or maybe you're Abby, I don't know. No judgement."

Gods, her jokes sounded so lame once they came out of her mouth! She kept the smile on her face, though, trying not to seem as awkward as she felt. This was a weird experience for her, and she couldn't quite put her finger on why she felt so strange. She was normally so at ease with meeting new people!
Name: Nancy Harper

Age:29

Description: 65.media.tumblr.com/8b3a1ec3133c8d3d38..
Occupation: Nurse
Branch of government worked for: N/A
Location you were working in: Stillwater Vale Asylum

History: Nancy was the only child of two Navy officers. She moved around a lot and assumed she would join the Navy once she graduated high school. When she was 12, she was in a car wreck. Both of her parents died, and she was hospitalized with a fractured spine. Her grandfather became her legal guardian. It took a lot of physical therapy to get her to walk again, but she did manage it. It was clear, though, that this injury would keep her from ever joining the military. She was told they were struck by a drunk driver, but something inside Nancy made her believe she was being lied to, though she never had any proof.

In high school, a field trip to the hospital she was treated at made her realize she was interested in pursuing the medical field, and she began studying to go into nursing. Upon graduation from college with a Nursing degree, Nancy took on a job working at a VA Hospital. It was while working here that her grandfather died of a stroke. Reeling from grief and fed up with the system that made it impossible for veterans to get help, Nancy began applying to different hospitals with military affiliation. A year after beginning her search of work, she was offered a position at Stillwater Vale Asylum, which she accepted immediately.

Personality: Nancy is an empathetic woman with the skill and disconnectedness that allows her to assess what a person needs and administer it- even if it's not what they want. She is still dealing with the grief of her grandfather's passing, and so comes across as sadder and wiser than she might otherwise. When not dealing with grief, Nancy enjoys singing to patients and playing checkers and chess. She finds her life to be very boring. Work takes up nearly all of her time.

Skills: Nancy is a skilled nurse. She is very empathetic- sometimes eerily so, picking up on invisible cues that lead her to assess people very accurately. She draws, most often caricatures, and hangs them around her office. She sings to patients, but she isn't trained. Just an amateur that sounds halfway decent.

Likes: She loves playing chess and checkers, and can even boast that she's good at it (though she was never able to beat anyone who competed, like her Grandfather). Nancy enjoys talking to people and learning more about them, allowing herself to escape into the adventurous lives that military personnel got to live, something she wasn't able to do.

Dislikes: Nancy does not like deep water, and she refuses to drive a car. She prefers to take public transportation wherever she can, or walk. Nancy dislikes being lied to a great deal.

Extra: Her back injury is healed, but it did leave some damage. Every so often her back will seize up, and sometimes she cannot stand or walk for long periods of time. She tries to work through it, but often ends up having to take pain killers when it gets to be too unbearable, especially if she has to lift heavy objects.
