Kolton Favreau
Kolton watched as she walked off ahead of him and on inside of her home, sitting down on the porch as he'd done many times before and sat waiting for her to return. The morning sky was beginning to clear up and the sun was shining down, it was almost annoyingly bright. Although it was bright outside, the people passing between houses seemed to have rain clouds hanging over their heads. It was sad to see every year. Such a proud people, but on this particular day, who or what did they have to be proud of? Their one Victor? Not even then. From what was said, the games changed him into a completely different man.
The sudden thought that Kolton, Silver, or even Geordon would get picked today flew through his mind but quickly shook it away. He couldn't allow himself to think about it for more than a few seconds. As his mother always said, 'Think positive, love.' Kolton could almost hear her say it to him, now. He ran a hand across the top of his head and let out a deep sigh. Part of him wasn't ready for the day ahead. The sound of the door of Silver's home re-opening didn't even register to him until he heard her familiar voice from behind. He turned to look over his shoulder at her, looking from her shoes on up into her eyes with a bright, charming smile.
"Do you really have to ask that, Darlin?" Kolton asked as he stood, jokingly playbow to her with one arm behind his back, the other extended out towards her. "I think the both of us together are gonna steal the spotlight. We're too gorgeous! Give those Capitol freaks a run for their money." Kolton laughed, looking up at his friend. A noise from behind them caused Kolton's smmile to fade and turn to try finding the source of the sound, scanning the nearly empty streets. The rumbling sounds of Peacekeeper trucks coming into the District seemed to echo throughout the place. "More of them? Thought we had enough, already?" Kolton clenched his fist and glared off towards the center of 12, shaking his head absent-mindedly. 'This needs to end,' he thought to himself.
