Everything you write should be like someone reading your things. It should be terrifying and incredibly embarrassing.

Kolton sat there still lost in his thoughts of the lake and the forest that surrounded it. His pups came to mind, then. Warm, furry bodies brushing against him in loving gestures. An occasional lick and a bearing of teeth between the two, one wanting the brute of their "daddy's" attention. Their coarse fur and the wild scent of it was enough to call home, but suddenly the smell faded and Kolton's eyes flew open. When had he closed his eyes..? He was.. wait a minute, when did he get out of the tub? He was being rubbed down with a towel, which made him turn bright red before snatching it out of their hands to finish off the job while being sure to cover his... valuables.

As he did so, he noted just how cold it felt in the room to have no hair on ... well, any part of his body. With a bit of a draft in the room and no apparent set of clothes out for Kolton to wear as his dress clothes had vanished, he wrapped the towel tightly around his waist. Kol looked over at the two stylists, feeling confident enough that he'd secured his towel tight enough, he crossed his arms over his chest as he spoke up.

"So, since we're going to be spending quite a bit of time together, I think it's only fair that I know each of your names. I know you already know mine. It's quite famous, nowadays, I hear." He smirked slightly, looking back and forth between the two, waiting for an answer. It was the girl who spoke up first.

"Octavia," she walked over to Kol, taking a comb to his hair. What little he had left, anyway. There wasn't much you could do to style it with what bit of length there was. She had avoided eye contact the entire time since they first laid eyes on each other, but as she backed away from him, she stared directly into his eyes. It was almost enough to wipe the smirk from his face that he'd been holding there on his lips. "And that over there," she motioned with the comb over her shoulder to the guy standing off at the other end of the room dumping the soiled cloths and other items they'd used to clean him up. "That's Ammon." ...'Ah-mone'. Alright. Simple enough. Kolton nodded and waved a hand at Ammon from among his twisted arms, looking back to Octavia.

"Well, I'm glad we got that out of the way." Kolton took a deep breath, and as he was about to say something else, Ammon interrupted.

"Octavia, we really must be going. We're already a bit behind." Octavia had turned to gaze over her shoulder at the call of her name and nodded in agreement. She turned back to Kol and reached out, grabbing his shoulder. "Come. We need to move on to the next room." Kolton looked down at his towel, then back up at the two of them with a bewildered look as if to ask if that was all he was being given to wear for an extended time. Reluctantly, he followed by Octavia's side as she led him up to the door where Ammon stood to open it for both of them. Kol wandered through the doors as he rubbed a hand over the top of his head to the back of his neck, looking around the room when he suddenly laid eyes on Silver, waiting in the room with her own two stylists. His heart stopped. He quickly grabbed at the place of his towel where it held itself together, making sure it wasn't going to unravel at any given moment. Kol tried to play off his embarrassment and awkwardness.

"So, I see you're still alive, then?" He wandered over to Silver and gave her a loving side-hug, feeling a bit too awkward to give her a straight-on one, keeping his eyes above her shoulders.

Declan peeked over Finley's shoulder as they walked, reading the file as she flipped through the loose pages. He simply smirked and rolled his eyes at her comment about the Walker family file. "Love, I know it's got her info in it. It's got 'Walker' right at the top, you dork." He playfully nudged her arm with his elbow, his face changing over from a smile to a more serious look at the previous information she spoke of. "I never really knew Riley as one of those who would just up and leave out of the blue like that. Honestly, I think she'd have told someone before just vanishing. Plus, Taylor and I, we-" he let his sentence fall off. He nearly mentioned how him and Taylor had been down to the lake where they followed her scent to (in their other forms), which had been a couple days old by the time they decided to look for her.

"We overheard that the deputies had gone out with search dogs, and her trail led down by the lake where it also went cold. I don't know what happened to her, but I definitely don't think it was a runaway case. There were signs of a struggle... apparently." 'Whew. Good catch, Dick,' he thought to himself. Declan mentally shook his head, suddenly distracted by a couple of voices coming from nearby. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end when he realized who they belonged to. In the process of attempting to say something, Finley's hand was once again in Declan's, pulling him along behind her. Declan sunk down into a crouch behind the brush, still having a hold of Finley's hand.

Finley's next words were a bit of a blur to him, then. He found himself momentarily lost in thought over how warm her hand felt in his own. The fact he hadn't held a girl's hand since he had dated that one girl early on in his Junior High career. His heart began to ache, thinking of all the times he'd wished he could hold his girlfriend Jenna's hand. He'd offered to take a plane out to see her for a weekend, but anytime it was brought up, there was always a new excuse. In Declan's mind, if he was willing to give up sports practice for her, she should know just how special she was to him. Why was she not letting him come to her? After the past two years they'd spent together. Skype dates just weren't enough anymore.

Declan finally came to just as Finley had finished talking, choking down all the emotion he'd just went through in those few moments. The only thing that felt wrong about holding Finley's hand was the fact he had a girlfriend, as well as the act itself didn't feel wrong at all. If he were to have made a pros and cons list, the former would win hands down. As much as he didn't want to, Declan slowly let go of Finley's hand to reach into his pocket and pull out his phone to finally respond to Jenna's text message. It was only her saying she had to get going, and that she'd be on skype later that night. Declan sighed and just shut his phone, stuffing it back into his pocket as he tapped on her hand before turning to creep away through the treeline.

"Come on, Miss Delinquent. Let's go get Gwen."

Taylor smirked at his eager response to lighting up a jay on the way to the lake, walking with him to his car, keeping a safe-ish distance so she wouldn't run into him. Once they reached the car, she heard the doors unlock so she quickly got in and shut the door. Pulling out and away from the Cafe, Taylor immediately found herself lost in the sights of the buildings passing by. Yes, she'd lived there for two whole years, but during that entire time she was never a passenger in a car. She was always the one to drive anywhere, and she really loved to just look around at every little thing she could lay her eyes on. It was like people watching, but with buildings, cars, trees.. you name it! It's the kind of thing you'd have done as a kid, she just never grew out of it. If Taylor focused on something inside of the car, she'd begin to get motion sickness, so peering out the windows watching everything pass her by was her only safe thing to do.

It didn't take them long at all to reach her house. A quick five minute drive brought them to her driveway, from which she could spot Sadie's slanted face peeking through the curtains and shaking side to side. Clearly, she was wagging her tail a bit too hard for her little self to contain properly. Taylor laughed and shook her head, muttering "I swear. One of these days, that dog's gonna break herself in half the way she wags that tail of hers. She acts like I've been gone a whole month, or something, with the way she gets excited when I come home." She laughed as she unclipped her seatbelt and stepped out of Josh's car, bending down to quickly add, "I'll be right back." Taylor offered a soft, shy smile before closing the door shut as she wandered up to her front door, digging her lanyard with the house keys from her back pocket.

"Hi Sadie girl, you wanna go for a walk down by the lake, huh?" Taylor spoke in a higher pitched tone than she normally would when talking to Sadie. She practically turned into someone else when she was around her dog. More alive and outgoing. Upon opening the door, Sadie charged Taylor and jumped up on her, placing her paws up onto her arms while Taylor held them so Sadie could reach up and lick her face a couple times. "Okay, Sadie, okay! Easy. Come on. I gotta grab something first, okay?" Taylor shut the door behind her and ran inside with Sadie not too far behind, making it into her room where she went straight for her nightstand. She tugged the drawer open and pulled out the mason jar inside where she had a couple of pre-rolls already stashed, taking one out to place it behind her ear. She already had a lighter in her pocket, so she didn't have to worry about anything else. Oh! Perfume. It was always good to carry perfume or even guy's cologne around, just so you could mask the smell without any disapproving glances looking your way afterward.

"Alright Sadie, come on, girly." Taylor grabbed Sadie's leash and harness before jogging back to the front door, letting Sadie run out before locking it behind her, leading the way to the car parked in their driveway. She opened the door and held Sadie back while she cocked the seat forward to let her dog into the backseat. Once inside, Taylor slid into her own seat, pulled the door closed and clipped her seatbelt back on. She removed the joint from behind her ear and retrieved her lighter from her pocket, holding them in her lap with a mischievous smile. "Alright, we're good to go!"

Location: Smith Farmstead

He may have only just arrived in town less than an hour ago, but he was already getting into work mode. Tyler sat in his truck grinding his teeth as he watched a man wandering up the dirt road from the mailbox that sat down at the end of it. From the previous research he'd done, and from the distance, he was at, he could only assume the man was the owner of the property. Exactly the person he needed to speak to. Tyler flipped his truck visor down and snagged his WDCO badge, sitting up to tuck it into his back pocket. He reached over and started his vehicle, letting it warm up for a few minutes before pulling up onto the main road and driving right on up the dirt path to the Smith Farmstead. It took a good minute drive just to reach the main house where he could see the man he'd once been watching stepping out with a shotgun in hand, no doubt having an uneven feeling about some random stranger coming up to his house unannounced. Tyler pulled his truck around the little round-about that circled the tree just out front of the home, putting his truck into park.

Slowly stepping out from the vehicle, Tyler dug out his badge and held it up in the air as he shut the door, calling out to the man. "Afternoon, sir. I'm Officer Cameron. Tyler Cameron." Tyler cleared his throat as he stuffed his badge back down into his pocket, placing his hands on his hips with one's pinky resting on the safety of his holstered pistol. "I just came out here to inquire about your livestock that's been turning up. I hear local wolves are a bit of a nuisance in these parts. I've been called out here to thin out the pack. Mind telling me anything you may know about them? How many are there? When do they tend to come around most? Have they ever attacked any one of you, your family or any workers here on the farm, or has it been just the livestock that they've targetted?"

Tyler looked around at the baby-puke-green house, eyeing everything over before turning to look out at the treeline behind the house, narrowing his eyes ever so slightly. He could smell them. The wolves. Both wild and 'domestic'. That's what his handler liked to call those with the unfortunate ability to change into a canine every full moon. Domesticated animals. Tyler was just so properly trained that he wasn't to be put out of his misery. Yet. Eventually, he knew he'd outlive his usefulness. It was only a matter of time. Till then, there was work to do. There was always work to do.

Declan couldn't hold it in any longer. He let out a few deep coughs before turning towards the door, longing for the fresher air. Before he could even realize what was going on, he was being pulled outside with Finley leading the way. He smirked and muttered, "Your hand feels like a kitten's compared to my massive bear paw hands." he laughed, letting go of her hand as they got through the door. He grabbed the thing and picked it up, setting it down just inside the door jam to make it look closed. If anyone took a wandering glance at it, they'd not suspect a thing. Only a hard look at the door's hinges would tell someone it had been broken into, and by that time the two of them would be long gone.

Finley's question caught him off-guard somewhat, turning a slight red. Embarrassed he didn't, in fact, have a car of his own yet. "I have my bike, but even if you were to try sitting on the handlebars, it'd be pretty damn uncomfortable." He sighed heavily and walked up beside Finley, "I mean, you could use my shirt for a cushion, I guess, if you'd rather we use the bike... but if not, we're gonna have to 'hoof it', Finn." Declan half-smiled at her apologetically as he reached out to take her hand again. He'd stop mid-grip to let his hand fall from hers as he moved off towards the mine, looking at her over his shoulder. "Gotta get a move on, though."

Taylor saw the look on his face, and she knew better. Knew him better. He'd try to catch her in a good mood, most likely while they were smoking, and he'd ask her again about it all. She might be inclined to tell him, but honestly, it was all left up to chance. Some things were better left unsaid. As soon as he motioned that he wanted out of the booth, she quickly got up and moved out of the way so he could join her. She mentally cursed to herself. Clearly he wasn't going to let it go. She put on a smile, though, and nodded to his questions. "Yeah, that's fine. Like I said earlier, though, we gotta make a quick stop by my place and pick up Sadie... if that's alright with you? If you don't want her in your car though, my jeep's at the house, so I can just take it down to the lake and meet you there."

Taylor watched Kayla wander back out from the kitchen after taking their table's dishes, pulling her apron off. It must have been time for her to get off. Taylor slowly moved towards the front door just behind Kayla, letting her exit but when Taylor noticed the family coming to the door she stepped out of the way to let them in. She flashed the parents a shy smile, giving the kids a little wave. In her mind, though, she was sort of judging the parents about the way they seemed to lack some kind of parenting skills. Letting their kids be as loud and rambunctious as they were being. Once they passed, she propped the door open and nodded a thank you to Kayla and let her walk off. Taylor turned to look back at Josh once she stepped outside, smiling softly at him.

"Wanna hit it on the way to the lake?" She wasn't even high yet and had just got done eating, but the thought of food after a smoke was welcoming.
I should be able go get a post in tonight, but if not.. for sure tomorrow! It's my love's bday today and we're both sick.. but if I find the time tonight, it shall be done! :)

When Finley made fun of his 'squishy exterior', he laughed and reached out to playfully shove her but missed when she quickly ducked out of his way. He shook his head and followed right in after her, pulling the door closed as much as possible so it didn't look like it had been broken in. It was dark. Real dark. Breathing for Declan proved to be a bit difficult, having suffered from asthma growing up.. but he didn't let it show. He kept a normal appearance as best as he could, wandering around the dusty old room as he scanned labels on the front of the many file boxes in the room with the help of the dim light from his phone screen.

"You think if I find my records and burn them, would I just... cease to exist?" he laughed lightly to himself, shrugging off the thought. Part of Declan couldn't really care too much to find his own file. He knew what was inside. Minor in Consumption. Drunk and disorderly conduct. Public intoxication. Everyone's favorite, friendly neighborhood juvenile delinquent. A sudden notification sounded off from both his and Finley's phones that brought him back from his thoughts, furrowing his eyebrows first down at his pocket, then over at Finley as he pulled his phone out to check the text. It was Jenna. Well, Gwen, anyway. Not his girlfriend, Jenna. Although there was a lingering text from her in his messages as well, but... it could wait. She knew he was busy with everything going on, today. He was supposed to be practicing for his high school's lacrosse game that would be happening this upcoming Thursday night.. maybe she figured he was doing just that.

"Is it just me, or is this girl always getting herself into trouble?" Declan kept his tone light and joking to try to keep at least Finley's nerves calm, but in all truth, he was worried for Jenna/Gwen. He sent out a quick text to his friend in response to her urgent message.

He turned his attention back to Finley and held out his hand, willing her to grab it and make a run for their friend-in-need.

"Gotta get outta here, Darlin'. Gotta go see what's up with Jenna."

Taylor nodded in equal agreement to Olivia's comment about taking a bullet for any of her friends. She felt the same way about her own friends. As Olivia got began dismissing herself, she glared playfully at her when she insisted on 'alone time' for Josh and herself once she was gone. Taylor shook her head but said goodbye and thanks for paying her breakfast. Once Olivia was gone and out of sight, Josh had turned on her and spoke his mind. It wasn't hard for them to do, it seemed, at least when they were by themselves. Almost as if the shyness was due to being together in front of others. Well, side-by-side. Not together. The thought of "together" would have Taylor turning as red as the blistering sunburn she'd gotten the summer before last when she'd first moved out to Red Lake.

His words caught her off-guard, almost sucking the air right from her lungs. She didn't really want to answer her whole, honest truth... but at the same time, she did. She wished desperately to be honest with him but knew she couldn't. There were just things that didn't need to be known in... his world. The world of mere humans. Whether he could understand it or not, and be okay with it... it was best to just leave him out of it all. Instead of answering the question outright, she decided to appeal to the 'we-shouldn't-go-investigating-the-lake' part of it.

"We don't have to go, if you don't want to. We could always just go back to my place, or yours and just... chill? I wouldn't mind too much. Olivia might be mad at me later, but she'll get over it." She twiddled her thumbs around, picking at her fingernails absentmindedly. "As I said previously, I'd already been out there this morning.. so, it's not that big of a deal to me." Taylor looked back over at Josh, staring into his eyes with a half-smile.
Was trying to post tonight but got caught up in family drama....I'll be posting tomorrow afternoon for sure
