Red Winston

Red was relieved to hear that Jake didn't freak out and even completly coprehended the situation, although he (Red) didnt agree that his power is cool. After all, along with all the useful memories he had, he also had to remember any painful and sad memories as well. Although Jake's power was indeed cool.

"Your power sounds more interesting than me packing memories together, I have to admit. I assume it will be even more interesting when I see these powers in action..." he earnestly said.

He decided that, despite the interest that the conversation between Gabe and Cordelia might had, it would be better to settle in his room, organise his space.

"I am thinking of going to the room...Care to join me?"

Chris responded to Henry in an annoyed manner:

"I don't like the guy one bit...And I don't care if he can pack a punch or not...He dared to threaten you, he is on my blacklist. Can't wait for a chance to crush him...and that's that." he said.

He was about to follow Henry, when the girl he seemed to know somehow talked to him.

"You guys go ahead...I will be right there..."

Chris couldn't remember the girl by her appearance, but her voice, although changed, did ring a bell.

"Vess? Is that you?" he said to Vespera.

Chris didn't have a clue that Vespera was still around. It was a big surprise for him, considering that Vespera was his chlidish crush when he was at the Academy. She still retained the attractive points Chris admired in the past, but they never actually talked to much, so he never actually admitted any feelings he had for her.Needless to say, this reunion made Chris a little uncomfortable, with all the past events and everything. After all, he didn't want Vespera to think of him as a killer, even though he did consider himself one. At a loss of words, Chris mustered all the courage he had and replied.

"I...I am alive, yeah. And...it is nice to, ehm...see you too."

He was slightly blushing, but he tried to hide it, although without much success.
Re-updated some of my relationships with some characters...I guess no one likes Valjean :P

Red laughed at Jake's comment about him staying up all night. The only reason he had to do this was to sort out any info he had aqcuired during the day and, depending on the size of information he had to process, it would sometimes take hours during the night. However, Red was reclutant to explain that to Jake, from fear that he might think he is a weirdo. Taking into account all the parameters, he decided that it should be best for Jake to know why he had to do these weird things and hope that he could understand that it was a nescessity, rather than eccentricity.

"No, nothing of the sort (reffering to him watching Jake sleep) and I don't have a single problem with you inviting people, as long as I get some time quietly...Of course, if this is impossible, I can always take a walk around until your guests have left, it wouldn't annoy me. As for my own bad habits, I think I should explain, so you know what you are dealing with."

He paused for a second to pick the right words to say, then continued.

"As far as I understand, my power is my memory capability. I have the power to remember and understand any information I come across, possibly forever. For example, if you ask me about this conversation in ten, twenty or even more years, I could tell you all of it, word for word. That's why, I have these strange habits, which are actually nescessary for my power to operate normally. I have to sort out memories in places I call memory rooms, depending on their importance, date I acquired them, their size and some other factors. That's why I have to stay up until late sometimes. In order to find the info I am looking for, I must completely focus on my memory rooms, thus you may find me standing motionless for quite some time. I hope it doesn't freak you out, but it is something I have to do as to not overload my brain. Kinda neat. Other than that, you can say that my only other bad habit is smoking and if you are not a smoker, I can guarantee that I will not ever smoke in the room. Other than that, I also swear that whatever I see or hear in the room will stay in the room. You could even kill a person in there and I wouldn't say a word. Promise."

After finishing his rather big monologue and waiting for Jake's reply, which he hoped it would be cool, Red turned to Gabe to watch the conversation that was about to take place.

"There is no way this is gonna end peacefully, is it?" he joked to Jake.

Chris was worried about Henry just storming off to the commotion. Not because he was afraid that Henry would get hurt, he was more worried for the other party. He knew well that Henry could do more than pack a punch, which made him wonder who would be unlucky enough to cause a commotion when he was nearby, now that he was a teacher. He was full aware that, unlike him, Henry was rational enough to control his temper and his powers, something that he was jealous of. Sometimes, he wished that Henry was the one having his powers during the incident in the shipwreck, pretty sure that he would be more composed than he was.

He politely apologized to Dana and Teresa and explained that he had to follow Henry to make sure everything was okay. He would ask them to come along, so he wouldn't leave them alone, but he couldn't move Dana's chair and was embarrased to ask Teresa to do it, something that was obvious from the expression of a self-ashamed person he had. Instead, he promised to be back soon and rushed to the source of the commotion some time after Henry did.

The spectacle when he arrived was unique. Henry had grabbed to guys, one from the back of his shirt, the other from the collar. He was pretty sure that one of the guys was the one he thought to be Valjean in the Cafeteria, with the difference that he was covered in some sort of armor, or something similar. It was pretty amazing how this tough looking guy was lifted with just one arm by Henry, something that almost made Chris laugh, but managed to hold it in. The other one looked pretty normal to Chris, but in this school what seemed pretty normal didn't mean that it wasn't equally dangerous. The fact that he was unfazed by the appearance of the other guy meant a lot by itself. It reminded him of himself when he was younger. Deciding not to doze off in past memories, Chris said:

"Seems like you have proper control of the situation, teach. So, is this the guy you said I will possibly share a room with? This Val-whatever-his-name-is? Well, if he is, he is a tough looking fellow. However, I hope he takes off the armor when he sleeps, I wouldn't want it creaking during the night."

Chris didn't want to be provocative, but he knew that the tough guys of the Academy had only one way to handle them. Show them that you are not afraid of them. Not that they would stop thinking that they could beat you to a pulp, but at least they would know that you had the nerve to stand up to them. Most probably, Valjean would be the same.

Another girl also piqued Chris' interest, a familiar face, but he couldn't remember her at all. Maybe when all this fuss was over, he could have a word with her, to see if she was someone he knew.
And he is my roommate! T_T

Red followed Nikki and Amanda, content that the latter listened to his plead and got serious for once. In the end, Amanda proved to be more okay than Red though at first. Maybe his previous misfortunes, caused by his own arrogance made him a little too strict with others. He took a note to himself to apologize to Amanda later.

The Administration building was steadily crowding with people, who have either found their rooms, or were still waiting for their own turn. Once again, tons of useless info gathered at Red's head, making him sick. He once again cursed inside his head, his hatred for crowd burning anew. With all the chatter, he didn't notice the Valos family inside the room. Actually, he didn't notice anyone at all. He was entirely focused on storing the gibberish he was hearing into his thrash can rooms. That was the main reason that he didn't greet a single familiar face and rushed to the reception.

"Jared Winston, first year. I would like to know my room and roommate please."

The receptionist gave him a key and a note, with his roommate's name apparently written inside. He was hoping that he could share the room with Nikki, whom he knew better that anyone else around, but didn't know that the Academy, or any academy, permitted sharing a room with a person of the opposite gender. However, the name in the note was equally satisfying to Red, too.

"Jake Valos. If my memory is right and it is always, it's the eldest of the Latin-American family, the ones I first talked to since coming here. Isn't the world a small place?"

Red was finally concerned of his surroundings, trying to spot Jake between some other faces, familiar and not. He finally spotted him, along with the rest of the Valos family, also witnessing a sight he wouldn't expect. Gabe was apparently heading to the fellow smoker he was sitting with in the Cafeteria.

"Reclutant, her stride not normal. She is pressing her palms with the fingers and her gaze is indifferent. If I had to guess, she is sharing a room with the little hoodie over there and is going to speak to her. Jake is looking at her too, so he should be the one encouraging her to do so. Well, I guess I should go over there and enjoy the upcoming humorous scene with my new roommate."

Red went to where Jake was, his hand extending.

"I smoke and I can be awake for many hours during the night. Also, you may find me standing motionless from minutes to hours, don't freak out. I figured that since we will be roommates, you should know my bad habits! But whatever the case, it is a pleasure that I get to share a room with you, Jake!"

Chris proccessed what Henry said, while eating his favorite french fries, which he spiced with mayonnaise. He was troubled with Henry's response about his possible roommate. He didn't tell him yet that he couldn't properly use his powers, so Henry should have in mind that he should be at his full potential. Yet Henry asked him to tell him if he had trouble with this guy, Valjean. Considering that, once, he and Henry were on par, the fact that Henry would say something like this could only mean one thing: This guy is strong and most probably dangerous.

Chris didn't want to mingle with someone dangerous from the start, not because he was afraid, but because it could cause trouble. Of course, he wouldn't even consider calling Henry if something happened. He wouldn't dare involving his dearest friend in his own mess. So, he just decided to meet Valjean himself and deal with him when the time came. After all, he was confident that he could take care of himself, even with his missing arm. Of course, he needed to solve the two major problems he had: His power limitations and his pitiful body condition. He would be happy to improve both this year, but that was optimistic thinking. That's when Valjean slammed the Cafeteria doors open and headed out. For a fact, his age seemed to match Chris' which made him wonder if the douchebag that just left was indeed Valjean. He would ask Henry, but decided not to open a conversation about it and find out after finishing his food.

He finished his food and wiped his mouth with a handkerchief. He wished he could eat some steak too, but it would require him cutting it and that was impossible with his arm missing. Asking someone else to do so would be shameful, so he had to cope with not eating steak. Chris turned to Henry and said:

"I'm following your lead. By the way..." he paused and pressed Henry's nose, a habit he had from when they were kids, then continued "...since when did I let you worry about me? I can take care of myself from any Val-what-kind-of-name-is-that-anyway-jean. You worry about me returning to the Arena and handing it to you." he joked and stood from his chair.
I think that I just met a Roleplaying celebrity (Maxx).

(Note: Maybe I will get on with Red saying and doing things to Nikki that she could misinterpret for a while :P)

(Since True Night said she would probably not post soon, I am going on with the introductions)

Red was about to tell Poppy that it would be a good idea to go to the Administration Room and pick their rooms, since students were already leaving the Cafeteria and most probably heading there and it would be tiring if they headed there and there was already a crowd. His plans, however, were once again cancelled, because Nikki and Amanda returned. Red was glad to see Nikki, a thing he actively showed with a grin, as he valued her both as a trusted associate in the Academy and as a person who could get along with Nikki, so that they can help each other adapt to their new way of life. Amanda, of course, would once again find a way to trouble his well-meaning plan, by blurting an insulting comment against Poppy. Red was a straightforward person himself, but only doing so if asked for his opinion, never crossing the line and just saying out loud whatever came to his mind. That's why he couldn't cope with Amanda. The last thing he wanted now was Poppy feeling disheartened because of her and judging Nikki because of her cousin's actions.

He laughed at Amanda's comment, trying to turn the insult into an innocent joke.

"Amanda, you little teaser! Poppy here might think you are a bad fella if you go with your jokes right from the get-go! But am I pleased to meet you!" he said and approached her, putting both his hands on her shoulders.

He approached the side of the face that wasn't next to Nikki and whispered in a cold tone, his smile dissappearing:

"I won't do you the favor of insutling you, because that's what you crave for, attention. Instead, I will sincerely ask you to be polite just once, because not everyone can stand your humiliating comments."

He backed off, his smile returning as soon as his face could be seen by the other two and hoped that Amanda would understand that the situation needed subtlety. He turned to Nikki, this time his smile being sincere. He touched her hand with both of his own, once again not realizing that she might misinterpret his actions and said with an unintended innuendo:

"I am glad to see you again, Nikki! I was looking forward to seeing you again (so that she could meet Poppy and be friends)!"

Then, he realized he hasn't properly introduced the two parties.

"Oh, excuse my rudeness...Poppy, this is Nikki, the one I was telling you so much about (that she would be a good friend for her) and the other girl is her cousin, Amanda! Nikki, Amanda, this is Poppy, a nice person I met in the Cafeteria earlier! I was about to tell Poppy to go to the Administration building, to find who are roommates will be. Maybe we could all go together?

Christopher returned with a small plate with little food. He couldn't eat too much, his appetite growing smaller because of his body condition. Hopefully, when he gained some weight, he would be able to eat some more.

"The lady in the Cafeteria didn't seem to recognise me, but she is the same as she was twelve years ago. She is either too old to change, or she is a Spatial user..." he joked.

He sat in the table, taking the first bite of normal food after twelve years. He was never fond of gastronomy, but right now, he elevated it into a God-sent science in his brain. His table manners was one of the few things that didn't change over the years and would possibly never change, as they were something he learned from his foster family. It made him wonder if everyone was okay back home. He had to go pick any letters he had received in the past years and see if they have contacted him and he was pretty much sure they had.

He thought of picking a conversation with Dana and Teresa.

"Is anyone of you a first year? It will be good to know who my classmates will be..."

That reminded him that, by school procedure, he also had to share a room with another person, thus, before any of the girls would answer, he also asked Henry:

"By the way, from your reaction, you didn't know I would be coming back. But being a teacher, you would know most of the students of the Academy, with the exception of the first years. So, by process of elimination, who could be my possible roommates?"
After explaining things as convincely as he could to Sky, Jack opened the door behind them.

"I hope I answered all your questions...Let's get to the others." he said smiling.

He headed back to the others when, midway, a sound ringed repeatedely from his pocket. It was his cellphone, which he didn't notice it was in his pants. Apparently, the ones at the facility shut their reception until now. Jack checked his phone. There was a message from Allen from before the got here, some messages from other people, but one message got his attention.

"I am done with business in France...What should I do now?"

"Oh, what do you know? Seems like he can come back...Allen would love to meet this guy!" Jack said to himself, not able to hide his joy.

Come-back-to-San-Francisco-with-my-jet-now. Things-happened! was Jack's reply to the message.

He found Al, who was apparently talking to a girl he never met before, along with Jason. He rushed to the small group and said:

"Sorry for interrupting, but we should head back immediately. There is someone coming to visit, someone who could be of great help to the group! Let's gather everyone and get back home! We can discuss everything when we return to the mansion!"
Oh and I just remembered, with the room mates list and all...Did Valjean join the Academy the same year as Chris and Henry? (Maybe we should have a School Year section in the CS for the full/returning students, so as to not raise such questions.)

Congratulations, Inferno, you just created a prejudice for Lynn to have. I am seriously going through with that.
