Lilith weaved her way between the dense packs of students, entering into the Main Hall promptly. She ran a hand through her alabaster hair, brushing snow off her head. She lifted her red gaze to the beauty of the Academy's Main Hall, drinking in the impressive sight of ornate architecture and elegant arches surrounding a towering, twisting tree. To the left and right, leaves and foliage extended from the tree to weave around intricate columns and walls. The immaculate hall was beautiful, sure, but also quite intimidating. She gulped nervously, looking straight ahead again as she filed into the first years' section.

”All students, please proceed to the main hall with your luggage. You will be organized by year, and will wait for the headmaster to give his opening speech. Any students caught lingering around will be escorted personally.”

The stale, expressionless female voice of the announcer continued on, the statement quickly becoming incredibly vapid as it repeated constantly, Suddenly, a new, rasping voice echoed through the hall, making Lilith wince slightly as it rang through her ears. She later found a seat as a stoic women walked onto the stage, saying peaking a few short introduction words, before leaving it to the Headmaster's turn to speak. ”...What a bunch of plebeian newspawns. I swear, I’m already missing last year’s graduating class. Such a kind and lively lot.” The same, elderly, rather snarky voice from earlier echoed through the halls. Lilith raised an eyebrow in confusion, expecting somebody else to appear on the stage. She inspected the women as the voice spoke again, until she eyed the blue orb that seemed to be irregularly glowing in the cane she held. A wave of realization hit her as she began to understand - the Headmaster was right in front of them. That was certainly something new.

The speech went on, a rather more informal one than she expected from a Headmaster. She continued to listen to the speech, feeling a cold chill down her spine as she heard the words ”...there are those here today, who will no longer be among us by the end of this year.” For a moment, she felt dread clawing at her throat as the statement sank into her, her head full of morbid images and memories - and then breathed out a heavy sigh. She expected to hear this - but, it wasn't a topic she wanted to torture her thoughts with at the moment. Pushing away her sudden anxiety, she continued to listen to the Headmaster's speech. She grimaced as the Headmaster's voice rose in volume and emotion, breaking into a full-blown rant about who-knows-what. She prayed she wouldn't have to listen to another ear-splitting rant from the Headmaster again for the rest of her time at the Academy, but obviously that likely wouldn't be the case.

"Alas, once you've selected a partner, you will both be thrown into a somewhat larger accommodation. "
"Partner..." Lilith mumbled to herself, feeling doubtful. She got up as the students were at last dismissed from the lengthy speech, stretching her arms a bit from sitting in one place for so long.
Faye began to remove some neatly folded clothes and her phone charger from the suitcase, pondering for a moment if the cabin had an outlet nearby. Her train of thought was interrupted as she heard the voice of the blonde girl behind her.
”My name is Gwen. I love your hair by the way,”
The smiling girl said, towering above her, sounding rather enthusiastic and open in the way she spoke. Gwen offered her hand to her, presumably to shake hands in greeting. She looked up at her cabinmate for a moment, before nervously taking the hand and shaking it.

"N-nice to meet you, Gwen. I'm Faye." She replied as politely as she could, managing to put on a gentle smile for the sake of being friendly. The compliment about her hair surprised her for a moment, before she said "Oh, um, thank you." in an unsure voice. The phone on a dresser by the girl now known as Gwen went off, and the blonde glanced down at it, saying something about meeting back at the Activity Center again. The girl then left the cabin, but not before making a lighthearted comment and skipping away.

Faye smiled a little, watching Gwen leave. Perhaps it wouldn't be quite so bad after all. She seems nice so far... Faye thought, wide eyes trailing to the last empty bed in the cabin. She began to wonder how the next cabinmate to move in would be like, and hoped for the best. Remembering that there was something to be done at the Activity Center, she quickly began to unpack the rest of her belongings and moving them into her dresser. She decided to leave the objects like her art supplies and bathroom items in the suitcase for now, she could deal with it later. She did not want to be late to - whatever it was. Faye glanced into a mini mirror, inspecting her reflection for a moment and pondered if the girl was really honest when she complimented her hair. It was one of the kindest things a stranger had said to her in a while.

She put away the mirror, and pocketed her phone with her as she left the cabin. She made her way to the Activity Center and noticed a few girls sitting at the tables. A girl with pale blonde hair, another with bright blue eyes, and Gwen, who had seemed to already arrive. Feeling anxiety on where she should sit, she settled on a seat across from Gwen. Faye, unsure of what to do, pulled out her phone to distract herself with something.
Lilith pulled a cold breath in, pausing for a moment to admire the grand view of the Academy blanketed with whiteness. Although it certainly became apparent the moment they neared said destination that it was going to be chilly, she didn't expect there to be snow. She turned around and pulled her luggage to her side as she took some time to study the students scattered among the Academy entrance. Some rather exuberant individuals vaulting off their mounts in a comedic fashion, some heading toward the gates already, and a pair of what looked to be mechanically - modified Earthlings who appeared to have flown there themselves. The majority of the folk were humanoid - or at least, mostly human like in appearance. One different individual caught her attention, a dainty reptilian creature with a faint glow. Curious, she thought to herself, eyes lingering on the green dragon for a moment. A Fae Dragon, was it? She scarcely remembered reading of Lucian dragons sometime ago. Perhaps she should have packed that book with her... She continued to watch the students arrive, and noticed many students were staring, wide eyed, some slightly mortified, at something to her far right. Inquisitive, she leaned over to see what was the focus of their attention, and felt some warmness rise to her cheeks as she took in the spectacle of a rather attractive girl undressing right then and there. Looking away, slightly flustered, she shook her head. Well, the Academy certainly has some unique students...

”All students, please proceed to the main hall with your luggage. You will be organized by year, and will wait for the headmaster to give his opening speech. Any students caught lingering around will be escorted personally.”

The sudden announcement made her jump, as she began to worry that she had idled about too long. She picked up her luggage with haste and began to glance about, eventually spotting the main entrance. Her train of thought was interrupted by the sudden force of a taller figure walking into her. Startled, she gasped and quickly regained her footing, in time to see an older boy get up from the powdery ground after the impact. Light red eyes peaked out from a rather heavily scarfed face. ”Oh, and my name is Varren Yinyues! Good morning~" The tall boy greeted her, awkwardly stumbling along with his words before a simple 'nice to meet you' came out.

"Oh, why - it's a pleasure to meet you, Varren." She responded shyly, wearing a polite smile and looking up at him, while hoping that she as not at fault for getting in his way. Although, he was the one who had a scarf wrapped around his field of vision. it was understandable, it was certainly cold, but she did not mind the temperature much. It was quite a lovely respite from the uncomfortably hot weather back at home. The boy seemed rather tired, and wore a lethargic look in his hunched figure. It slightly relieved her that she was not the only one that was a little sleepy on the first day. The one she now knew was called Varren shrugged, and while he announced ”Let’s go, I wonder what kind of person the headmaster is!” began to move along to the Main Hall. She took note of the boy's name, at least she would know the name of at least one student here for now. She began to head toward the entrance doors, pondering for a few moments if Varren could possibly be a first year like her.

Lilith pulled along her luggage as she trailed behind Varren, and soon enough, into the congregation of students pushing their way into the expansive entrance doors. She stepped about delicately, her arms tightly by her side holding her things, making sure not to bump into anyone. She looked up and noticed an enormous, shining golem of foreign machinery, quite prominent as it threaded through the crowd. It was a wonder that it even managed to fit through the doors. As much as she wanted to stop and observe it, she'd have to learn more about the strange thing later. As she continued along, she twitched as she heard loud voices to her left. Some mayhem was brewing nearby, as flurries of snow were being pelted in the air by an intimidating entourage of orcs. She paused and watched the scenario for a second, her curiosity itching to see what was going on, but hurriedly moved along, not wanting to miss anything important.
I'll be posting IC within the hour or so. Just got online, urgh, I hate school sometimes.

Hey guys, I got something really heavy to lay down on ya. It's a bit dramatic and shit, so I understand if you don't want to get involved, but I wanted to get this off my chest.

I.... I think I need to lie down. But it's okay, because I heard that laughing a lot makes you live longer.
Faye quickly stepped away from the road where she had been dropped off. She clutched at a vintage, slightly beat-up pastel pink suitcase on wheels. On shoulder was a small, matching rosy purse with a bow knot on its front. Her pale blue curls tumbled loosely about her face, gently tossing in the wind. Framing her small figure was a thin black romper with floral designs. She wore a pair of matching black wedges on her feet, which helped increase the height of her short stature by a little. Brushing against her collarbone was a thin chain of gold linked to half of a silver heart.

For a moment, Faye stood still, admiring the utopia-like landscape of Camp Corona. Her icy blue eyes swept across the vista. Tall, sprawling green palm trees towered above her. In the distance, the alabaster, sparkling sand stretched on and on until it faded to a constantly flowing deep cerulean. Somewhere far away, grand mountains framed the whole landscape as if it were a painting. Oh, she already felt better about this trip. It was almost good enough to just be able to stare and gaze upon the paradise all day. But then she remembered why she was here - she was at summer camp - and that there were other people here, ones she would eventually meet. She frowned as she remembered the words of her mother as she dropped her off. "It'll be good for you, Faye. It'll give you a chance to be more social, darlin'."

Shaking her head at the memory, Faye began to make her way to her destination. She picked a folded piece of paper from her pocket and unraveled it, checking her directions over twice to make sure nothing went wrong on her first day. There's no way something isn't going to go wrong, she absentmindedly thought to herself. She looked up from the paper and placed it back in her pocket. She trudged her luggage along as she walked briskly to the white building labeled "ACTIVITIES CENTER". The building seemed rather dull, plain, and sterile compared to the rest of the place. She approached the door and pulled it open with her only free hand. She let out a contented sigh as she was met with the wonderfully cool air of the indoors.

"Welcome!" A pleasant voice called out to her. She flinched, slightly startled at the voice of the receptionist who she didn't notice there until now. She looked up at the primly dressed women in a brown-haired bun. Blushing in embarrassment, she approached the desk hesitantly.
"What's your name, dear?" The receptionist asked with a warm smile, not seeming to notice the girl's nervousness.
"Oh, um... Faye Labelle." The blue-haired girl replied, fidgeting with her necklace as she stood there. The women tapped on her keyboard for a moment, presumably to enter Faye's name, and then turned to a drawer behind her. She took out a key and handed it to Faye. The key was engraved with the number "3", and Faye took it, inspecting it in her hands. The receptionist then spoke again.
"Your cabin is cabin three, sweetie. Have a nice day!"

Faye nodded. "Okay, thank you!" She quickly said before pocketing the key, taking hold of her suitcase and hastily leaving the building. She stepped out into the golden sunlight, which spilled onto her hair and made it shimmer not unlike the waves of the sea nearby. She dragged her suitcase with her as she walked along, looking for the cabins. She began to take her time on her walk, occasionally enjoying the soothing ambiance of crashing waves and the singsong of birds in the forest nearby. She discovered the modest wooden buildings were not too far away, and made it there in a prompt amount of time. As she approached Cabin Three, she began to wonder if anybody sharing her cabin had arrived already. Her answer came faster than she would have preferred it to. She hesitantly opened the door to the cabin, and before she opened it fully, she peered through the crack in the door. A tall, pretty blonde girl was already there, who seemed to be setting her things up and unpacking. Suddenly unsure of what to do, she silently entered the room, desperately praying that this cabin member was going to be tolerable. She picked the bed on the far left against the wall, and placed her suitcase on it, opening it and began to unpack.
Worked on my post on/off for a while, and it is finally done. Whee.
The sky was pretty today. Lilith imagined it would be, to anyone who wasn't her. She eyed a silver of light peeking through the thick velvet curtains and peered through the window, and it was just enough to watch a burning orb rising into a blue expanse. It was an odd sight. She let out a yawn as she sat up from the invitingly soft sheets of her bed. Adjusting her nocturnal sleep schedule wasn't hard, but it hadn't fully settled quite yet. To top it off, she really shouldn't have stayed up so late reading, as she gently snuffed out the flame of a half melted candle on her desk. On most days, this would be her bedtime - but she knew that the Academy was of higher priority than that. She promptly continued along with the morning schedule she had planned : get up, take a bath, get dressed, get packed, and wait for the transportation.

She walked over to the ornate mirror in her bedroom, and dressed herself accordingly with the uniform of a skirt, shirt, and jacket. Lilith also put on a long black pair of stockings; a pair of gloves made with a thin material, and donned a matching sunhat with a brim that cast a shadow over her face. Once she was done adorning herself, she grabbed her luggage that was packed the night before and filled to the brim with the usual materials and supplies. Opening her bedroom door with a resounding creak,, she walked out into a hallway of gold rimmed paintings and crimson walls. Save for the clack of shoes on the lacquered floorboards, only silence greeted her as she walked past closed doors and unused chandeliers. She was likely the only one awake in the entire mansion - and it was better that way. The quiet was the sweetest song to her ears.

After dragging her luggage down a spiral of stairways, she began to make her way to the front door. Pulling open the door, she stepped outside onto the front porch. A daze came over her as sunlight poured into the doorway. She silently thanked no one in particular that she was sufficiently clothed and safe under the wide brim of her hat. Her scarlet eyes blinked as she did her best to adjust to the sudden brightness. She grumbled absentmindedly to herself as she balanced herself by grabbing the door handle with a free hand, feeling dizzy from the previous shock. "How does anyone even live with this... "

Sighing, she continued along the path that led out to the expansive courtyard. A heavy aroma of roses hung in the air. Looking down at her watch, she figured it wouldn't be long until it was time to leave. Lilith stood in the shade of a tree for a moment, taking out a small bottle from her pocket. Taking a brief moment to admire the intricate engravings on the glass, she uncorked it and lifted it to her lips. Although she had just fed a few nights ago on some unfortunate rabbit, it didn't hurt to have a little snack before she left for the Academy. Licking the crimson liquid from her lips, she enjoyed the honey-sweet taste before placing the bottle back in her pocket. Peering up at the sky, she noticed a large silhouette appear. A griffon flapped toward her adorned with a saddle. It had sharp, bright yellow eyes and a muscular body covered in shimmering golden feathers. A caw greeted her as the trained beast dropped down in the center of the courtyard.

“O-oh, why, hello there.” Having never seen a griffon in person before, Lilith widened her eyes and drank in the sight of the rather beautiful creature before her. She approached the griffon and loaded up her belongings before carefully climbing on its back. A hint of anxiety came up within her at the prospect of flying, but the griffon seemed rather intelligent and well-trained. She readied herself and the griffon gave a snort as if to ask if they could take off yet. She nodded, and the creature spread its wings, preparing to take off. Its claws scratched at the ground as it propelled itself upward into the air. Using her arms, she held on tight as the griffon rose higher into the sky. Looking back at her home, she noticed something at the corner of her vision. Two figures from one of the windows waved up at her. Lifting an arm, she waved back, but only for a few seconds as the griffon accelerated at a speed she never knew was possible into the sky. Sighing, she looked down at the ground until the manor was nothing more than a dot.

Lilith felt the wind toss at her hair as they tore through the air toward their destination. She closed her eyes and listened to the monotonous sound of powerful wing strokes beating at the air. She felt the warmth of the feathery body of the griffon pressed up against her as the air grew cold, and they neared the Black Gale. Lifting her head, she took in the sight of a profusion of other griffons with students on their backs. She began to wonder about each of them and who they were as they passed through the Black Gale. Looking forward, she noticed that the Academy was quickly nearing. The griffon surprisingly managed a graceful landing, despite having flown at supersonic speeds. The click-clack of talons on pavement sounded all around her as other students began to land as well. She carefully slid off the saddle and took up her luggage.

“Thanks for the ride.” She rubbed the griffon’s fluffy head in appreciation. The beast grunted in contentment. She then turned and looked about at the unfamiliar faces around her, wondering about how things would go at the Academy for her. She noted some of the foreign-looking weapons some of them were carrying, and assumed these were the students from Earth.
