Black Cat was grateful, though not nearly enough to dampen his mistrust of the other assassin. With the two targets secured, he was now free to use his claws and tail. Well, one claw would still be needed to lift the bundled developers. Silas was the other assassin’s name. Black Cat recognized him from the coffee shop. Silas would become a target eventually, but today was booked. Black Cat laughed silently in amusement. He’d been an easy mark with his claws preoccupied. Silas should have just killed him and taken both of the developers for himself. It’s what he would have done.

Without warning, the world exploded. No, just the part of it around where the two assassins stood. It appeared that someone had taken notice. The ground shook, and for an instant Eise wondered if there was a basement below the showroom. Black Cat dismissed the thought, as he could not take the developers with him through the floor.

Eise, wake up. It's not real.

Eise's vision darkened as Kuro took over his mind and body completely. It was an unpleasant feeling, not unlike dying. Still, it did have its perks. The two illusory game makers vanished, the simple mental shock of possession being much more effective than weak human will at breaking through magics that targeted the mind.

Black Cat stood tall where he was, claws clenched in fists of rage. The air around the deadly creature hummed with energy as Eise's anger leaked out. The assassin looked up, its flat black face splitting to reveal a mouth that glowed blue, and roared, seeming more beast than human then.

"Kuro, did you see where the illusion's maker went?" Eise asked the dark cat spirit inside of himself. The black cat, Kuro's avatar as Eise imagined it inside his mind, flicked its tail. A stream of images and feelings answered Eise's question. "He's the most dangerous then. We take him out, and then the others." The black cat purred, satisfied with Eise's decision. "We'll need to shuffle to keep from getting caught in another illusion. He's good, and this place is filled with other powerful magi, so the maximum I think would be safe would be 0.3 second intervals." The black cat turned and vanished, as it was Eise's time in control.

Black Cat looked as Silas, still obviously under the illusion's influence. It would be such a pity if he died because of that. The black-armored assassin slipped through the floor and swam after the escaping game maker, like a shark through the layers of solid concrete and steel, its mind flickering between man and cat. Not having to avoid obstacles or dangers, Black Cat caught up to Kariya easily and pulled itself back up through the floor and onto solid ground again in front of the illusion creator.

Black Cat's smooth face cracked open again. "Try that again and I'll gut you before torturing you," the assassin hissed. The concrete beneath his feet cracked as Black Cat launched himself at the game maker with blinding speed, glowing claws leaving a faint afterimage where he had been.
I came so close to posting a one-liner in response to that. Must resist the urge. Must... resist...
(Mars that goes for you too. I feel uncomfortable leaving a child in your hands for any period of time. -_-)
Hush now... Xir'ain will "make it better". The armor as well, though that he may opt to replace rather than fix.
Haha, all's good. Mars is just having a bit of fun before leaving the city. I'll edit that right now. That makes it even better, since meeting outside the ship would raise much less suspicion.

Edit: I enjoy writing for Mars already, and this is only his first post.
Ooh, I want to play the counting game too! Let's see, Xir'ain has... one, two minions, and one construct, and... three quarters of a rogue being! *evil grin*
Mars, creeper extraordinaire, doing what he does best.
A questionably-well-dressed man offering candy to small children would have raised eyebrows, even in York Shin, had not everybody been busy buying and selling in the crowded marketplace. As it was, something as small and insignificant as taking her eyes off her father for an instant meant she had been swallowed up by the crowd completely. With no one and nothing familiar in sight, a questionably-well-dressed man stopping to ask if she was all right was all it took.

Mars walked down the long dock to where he was supposed to meet the others with the hand of his new acquaintance in his.

“Mister, are you taking me home now?”

“Yes child, I just have a short errand I have to take care of on the way. It shouldn’t take long, and when it’s done, I’ll bring you directly to your home. Honestly, you’re lucky I’m the one who ran into you. This city is no place for a child to be alone. There are bad people who could snatch you right up!”

As he said it, Mars grabbed the girl and threw her into the air above his head, catching her under the arms as she fell and tickling her into laughter.

“Yeah, daddy told me that it’s dangerous to be alone and not to talk to strangers.”

“He sounds very smart.”

“Uh huh, he is!”

Uncertain of the exact airship he was looking for, Mars pulled out his phone to confirmed the location. The girl looked up at it and asked if he could call her parents.

“I would child, but I don’t know their number. If you do, I can call them right here and now.”

The child bit her lip and pouted. She obviously hadn’t memorized her parent’s number. No surprise, very few children her age did.

“No matter, so long as the address you told me is right, I should be able to get you home without any problem.” At this his companion brightened again. Adorable, how easily their minds worked. So adorable. Mars allowed a grin to stretch across his face.

Mars finally found his airship, right where it was supposed to be. How odd, that. What would something be doing being where it was supposed to be? How odd. The man’s grin broke into joyous laughter, startling his companion and earning him a confused look.

He pointed at the ship and explained, “The ship, it’s also a whale. Does that mean it swims as well as flies?” She was thoroughly confused at this point, not only at her savior’s mannerisms, but also at his destination. He noticed this. “Don’t worry my dear; the business I have to take care of involves the ship." He noticed two individuals standing a short distance away. "And it appears it will be taking place on the dock, so no worries." He smiled down at her in reassurance.

He walked over two the two people who were talking, but the girl's hand slipped from his grasp. "What is it? Shy? I'll be right over there talking to those people, so if you want to you can stay right here. Don't worry, no one will harm you, not with me around." He grinned at her uncertainty. Adorable.

“U-um, I’ll stay with you.”

Mars grinned. “Very well, I prefer it that way too.” He turned back towards the pair, and right into a wave of En, causing his good-natured grin to slip and fall upside-down for an instant. But then the good-natured grin was back in place, and he was introducing himself two the two.

"Hello, my name is Mars Mondelez." His smile appeared genuine, but for an instant his eyes met the good doctor's, and what they said then would have seemed to contradict the smile. "And this is Kati," he said with an even wider smile as he lifted up the young girl. "I would like to know the ship's policy on pets."
Release me? Was that all the creature thought of now? Disappointment. But now the question was, would he?

“No.”

Above the ribcage of stone that held the giant fast, the rocks of the ceiling shifted together and apart into the shape of a great skull. The stone jaws closed around the giant’s leg, ripping it free from its owner. The stone skull disappeared as the stones shifted back into their original places.

The image of Xir’ain waved the runners away, and then dissolved the blindfold from the giant’s head. The black construct said nothing, its demands unchanged. It just stood in the lightless abyss, golden eyes staring into putrefied ones, awaiting an answer. The giant still had three good limbs, but Xir’ain doubted he would be able to take all of them. For one, even a creature as big as this giant only has so much blood, and second, he could already feel Enly’air’s anxiety over having her body outside of her control rising.
Sweet. So disappointed that Mars doesn't get to play with any children though. He just loves the children. How balanced this team is so far is unbelievable, and I also can't believe no one has opted to be a specialist just because they can. Usually everyone and their mother tries being specialist just because it has special in its name.
Doesn't ArcU's anti-teleportation field kind of... prevent teleportation?
