Opening the gate did not lead to riches as Makeen had hoped... Instead it lead to more enemies. Figures...

Siris so kindly took down the bastard who stabbed him. Feeling the sense of comradery Makeen moved in position to help a familiar face. Makeen launched one throwing knife and missed spectacularly. Luckily the bumbling brigand (likely still reeling from Lyuns mighty blow) missed his swing. Taking advantage Makeen launched another knife this time meeting its mark.

Makeen was assessing the damage when Iddin approached him and healed his wounds making him good as new.

Makeen: Thanks teach! Still don't get why we can't do that on ourselves, but such is the will of Zuzu, right?

Makeen didn't buy into the whole Zuzu spiel, he just knew that the magic worked and he was willing to play along for more lessons.

Looking ahead, Makeen saw Siris charge an enemy spearman claiming to have it handled. Taking his word for it he charged ahead to unlock the big gate blocking their way.

Makeen takes a few seconds to admire his new find and going over all the potential buyers in his mind. Coming back to reality he put the spear away and walked back out to the battle field. Around the corner of the house he noticed Siris land a good attack on an axe-wielding enemy, but not enough to take him down.

Makeen: Hey Siris let me help you out there!

Shaking off his frustration, Makeen gave a nod of thanks to Zarif while doing his best to hide the shame of missing twice against one of those blue gremlins. Then he turned to Gesties and noticed he looked far worse than how he felt.

Putting on a well practiced smirk, Makeen told the ragged man, "Better make that five times." Reciting the archaic words from his tome, Makeen began to heal the wounded man.
