She's a huge fan of outdoor activities and likes the relative tranquility and calmness of the forest, a calmness that is mostly absent at the DWMA and one of the reasons she doesn't like being in places with too much noise or people, preferring to go to less crowded places or if she doesn't have that luxury to escape to her own little forest in her mind.
On the subject of socializing Anna is not really antisocial, just that she doesn't like being around large groups of people and she tends to keep conversations brief unless it is about one of her favorite subjects, then you'll see Anna talking non-stop until the other person slowly steps back or she finishes venting.

Anna lived a simple and tranquil life so learning that she could transform into a metal gauntlet it took her a bit of guard, and even more so when her parents reaction to it was one of worrying and trying to avoid the topic.
After a few days passed Anna managed to overhear her parents talking about her ability in their room, apparently she was going to be sent to a special academia for people that had a similar ability to her. Of course she didn't want to leave the town and everyone she knew so she protested and protested, but her parents denied the accusations of sending her to the DWMA while secretly arranging the matter with Death. A little bit under a month till she entered the DWMA Anna was fooling around the old library, since she was still mad at her parents decision, suddenly the whole area started to shake and then darkness.
Not so far from there four witches were found by a group of meisters and their weapons, their fight producing shockwaves that were capable of crumbling most of the old and fragile building of the town, with the old town library crumbling to rubble into with little time for the ones in there to evacuate. Anna spent two days in the darkness of the rubble, without any major injury, but unable to move. Her initial calmness changed over despair as help took longer and longer to come and some of the voices that were in the building started getting desperate or slowly quieting out.
The rescue work was hard, but with the combined help of the inhabitants, meisters and demon weapons casualties were reduced to a minimum, and while the trauma of being stuck for two days in the rubble wouldn't really go away, Anna would gain more respect towards the staff at the DWMA (unaware that it was partially their fault this had happened) and ended up going to the DWMA at the age of 14 without much resistance on her part. While she was initially in the NOT class she was changed to the EAT class not long after she entered.
