"We can beat these gangs, with your help. Powers or no, we can leave the city a safer place than when we started. Thank you for your time. I'll have a chance to talk to each of the new squad members today, even in a one-to-one setting if you prefer."
Ed stifled a yawn with the back of his hand. His body yearned for the sweet embrace of sleep, but it didn't seem like that moment was close at hand. Last night was a relatively boring affair, as most nights tended to be. 4sight and Ed had been on duty since 10 pm, and they'd shared maybe twenty words between each other. He was a quiet man, 4sight, but he knew his shit. Ed respected that.
His eyes then turned to SWAT beside him. They hadn't had a proper conversation yet, but he seemed a decent enough guy, maybe a bit too serious. And next to SWAT, stood Dart. She hated Ed from the moment she had laid eyes on him, and he had no goddamn idea why.
Ed's attention then turned to the Director, who was steadily approaching the group. Ed downed the last of his coffee and began mentally preparing himself to not pass out.
