Type of Government: perma brain monarchy (monarchy but with immortal monarch to balance it out if the king dies due to outside influences the nation immediately falls apart)
Demographics & Population: 2.0 million-200,000 mind flayers 1 elder brain and 1.8 million
Governance & Politics: there is no real independence here the only independence is the elder brain the mind flayers below all serve him if they dont have constant psychic connection they die and thus serve him though they do fight eachother for lands like your average noble but below them are hordes and hordes of deep ones with no minds and serve all that is above them
Culture & Society: the mind flayers are egomaniacal mastermind narcissists they serve the elder brain fully and use armys of deep ones to increase their power they usually fight eachother in "tentacle duels" which may end in one eating the others brain the deep ones have no culture they only do things to serve their masters though they do fight eachother sometimes for mates
Magic & Technology: the elder brain is an elder scion from space he has the power to create "mind poles" which can be used to turn humanoids into mindflayers each and every creature in the swarm all have a psychic connection to him and while every mindflayer is at least an average psychic the elder brain is one of the best in the worlds the swarm also has the ability to create flesh towers which may be used to increase his influence and psychic range
Military Overview: one word: swarm the main bulk of the armys are weaklings and mind flayers are too valuable to be put on the front line so about 3 or 4 mindflayers following orders directly from the elder brain have the deep ones attempt to surround flank and generally disorganize the enemy trying to get them to surrender allowing for them to get many new deep ones and possibly mindflayers
