*This was an RP I created on the old site that did not quite come to fruition as I hoped it would. I'm looking into reviving it if it gains the proper interest. I would like to limit the number of followers for each heir to minimum 3, maximum 5. I guess it really depends on how many people would be interested. In order to maintain the RP, I would also need 3 people to take on the roles of each one of the heirs. If you have any questions, feel free to post them in this thread or PM me. Hope you enjoy the story!
“Many years ago our home was united in the ordeals of peace, love, and steadfast justice. But just as the living cross over into the realm of the dead, so do the ways of man.” – Rorick Shatterfell, heir to the throne of Trinity
Welcome to the land of Trinity. A broken kingdom stricken with war, hatred, and sinister betrayal. Many of us are either too young or too blinded to remember the cause of this suffering. Others choose to remain silent for fear of the consequences from their words and memories. I myself am feeble and would welcome death to escape the chains binding me to this world. My name is unimportant, but my story is one to be secured in the deepest, safest part of your young mind.
"Our King and Queen blessed Trinity with three charming children. The eldest, Rorick, a solid boy with a heart of gold. The middle, Alden, a soft spoken lad with a thirst for wisdom. The youngest, Lilith, a cunning girl with a silver tongue. These children were the hope and security for Trinity’s future. But greed and deception lurked in the shadows of the palace halls. Our court wizard and scholar, Gifre, hungered for power and urged the King to seek out the same desire. He advised unnecessary war with neighboring kingdoms time and time again until the King finally had him removed from his circle of advisors. Wrought with jealousy and anger, Gifre vowed to seek revenge against his King in the most painful way he could.
Gifre was the personal tutor to all three of our majesty’s adoring offspring. He set out to deceive each one of them into assisting with his treasonous plot. He brought them, one by one, into his hidden chambers below the castle. There, he practiced the dark arts in secrecy and began a ritual of the foulest nature. He asked each child to whisper their greatest desire into an ornate hand-mirror. Rorick wished for a chance to prove his bravery in battle, Alden wished to know all the secrets of the world, and Lilith wished to be seen and heard by everyone. Gifre also whispered his greatest aspiration into the mirror before leaving the children to seek counsel with the King and Queen.
In the presence of the royal court, Gifre presented the tainted mirror to his majesties. Upon looking into it, they were wrought with a sickness of the body that led them to kill one another in complete consciousness of mind. They looked agonizingly into each other’s eyes before releasing their final breaths, chest to chest. Those present stood frozen with horror as Gifre laughed maliciously and embraced the children at his sides. “And let the souls of man be separated by the desires of their wicked hearts!” Gifre smashed the mirror onto the floor and bright mist began to seep from the chests of each and every citizen in Trinity.
We now understand that Gifre’s spell stole a piece of essence from everyone in the Kingdom that day. Our hearts beat with a unique rhythm and are filled by an individual defining quality. Gifre released fragments of those qualities into what we now refer to as our “Whispers”. After the betrayal, Gifre fled from Trinity and took Lilith with him, for she was his favorite pupil. Rorick and Alden were left to manage the chaos and confusion Gifre had created. Being only children themselves, they began to bicker over which methods would be best in solving the mystery of Gifre’s separation spell. When he came of age, Alden left his brother Rorick in search of a peaceful and scholarly society.
The Kingdom was broken, the people were broken, and Gifre had succeeded in his destructive plot. During this time of panic Gifre, aided by Lilith, formed an army of his own and began invading Trinity. Lilith’s young and eager mind sought nothing but solace from her parent’s deaths, and Gifre deceptively coaxed the girl into his submission. Her heart, now surrounded by hate, obeyed his orders without question. Lilith became convinced that the right to the throne belonged to her, and she would stop at nothing to obtain it. Eventually, her malice even overcame her faithfulness to Gifre. She murdered him in cold blood, and it is said that through bloodied mouth he smiled upon his prodigy fulfilled. Rorick fought Lilith on his own, unable to persuade his brother to stand by his side. Each of the three children gained followers overtime, and each discovered how to capture and tame the lingering Whispers for their benefit.
Our home, Trinity, is plagued by this War of the Bloods. It will continue in this way until someone finds a solution to the rivalry and reclaims the bond between Trinity’s beloved children. I pray that you heed my story and seek out one of Shatterfell children. It is your choice, your destiny, but Trinity’s future. Restore our home. Restore our faith. Restore our humanity.”

“We whispered our fantasies into that mirror, and our fantasies were shattered into pieces. My Whisper is my fantasy, it is mine alone to capture.” Alden Shatterfell, heir to the throne of Trinity
Whispers initially appear to citizens as orbs of light. They wander throughout all of Trinity. They are absentmindedly searching for a partner. Anyone can see a Whisper, but only one is designated to capture it. Once a Whisper has been captured by its true companion, it takes on the ghostly form of an animal. The Whisper is bound to follow and fight for its master until such a time when it is no longer needed.

"It is not enough to bend the rules. To ensure a change, one must break the rules in half. For it is from pain that our greatest potential begins to grow." -Lilith Shatterfell, heir to the throne of Trinity
