"Can't be that dragon that was overhead a ways back, otherwise it'd smell like a human barbecue..." Aria mouthed, staying close to Cronic in case the unknown killer or killers struck while they were apart. Sticking together was the best policy; ...when it could be helped, anyway. She approached the gates with slow, cautious steps and her eyes peeled for the slightest twitch in their surroundings.

"He.. Help..!" A weak voice blurred from the gate. One of the dead guards got to his feet, apparently he must've just been unconscious - his wounds looked fatal however. His neck was covered with a piece of cloth, saturated in blood. Stumbling closer to the two, he had to stop as he came to the tip of Aria's blade. "We never saw them coming... Tricked us into leaving our posts, and then they started massacring everyone... Are you here to help?" the border guard panted, clutching a bad wound on his lower chest.

Aria shifted her eyes to Cronic, then lowered her sword. But sheathing it was a bad, bad idea... The man looked like he was in no shape to fight, and he was definitely the victim here. "What happened?"

"My friends might still be alive... We got caught off guard, and just... I've never fought like that in my life!" The guard said, following loosely behind Aria as she approached one of many corpses outside the gate.

Aria inspected the body. The Imperial soldier was quite obviously dead - he had a dagger stuck in the side of his head for Talos' sake. But he still felt warm... She pulled down his collar, having noticed a redder patch than the rest of his tunic blotched into it. Two clean piercings... The man's eyes opened suddenly, gleaming red as blood. The second he moved, Aria rammed her katana into his head. "Cronic, it's Vampires!" she said as she got back to her feet. The 'lone survivor' suddenly tackled into the red-haired girl, trying to attack her neck with his unnaturally sharp teeth as they struggled on the ground. The black-bladed katana had been lost in the surprise attack, Aria clawed the dirt beside her trying to find it's hilt while she used her other arm to fight off the bloodthirsty opponent.

"Get off me, you fuckin' creep! Bloodsucking son of a bitch! Cronic!" Aria cried. Honestly, this was embarrassing. For a kid with such a horrifying reputation (to those who knew), she was disappointed in herself, mentally scolding herself for getting jumped like this.

As this was all happening, about ten corpses stumbled to their feet and began either shambling or charging at Cronic. Five vampires, five dead thralls. So, five were a problem and five were more or less just a slow, weak nuisance. One of the Vampires went down immediately, courtesy of the carriage driver and the client plunging two well-aimed arrows in it's head and heart. Clearly these two Nords weren't pushovers! Still, this left Cronic to deal with NINE enemies as their backup drew another arrow each.

Oi. Do shomething. :c
"...Wow." Lucia coughed and cleared her throat after Akira ended up stripping down to his boxers. In all honesty she hadn't expected the guy was.. pretty damn attractive underneath the uniform and typical rookie attitude. How the hell didn't he pick up the obvious hint? Oh, right... He wasn't looking to see if Lucia was also stripping down, so he was already in her good books after the little eyes test! He was now also marked down as someone she'd be able to tease occasionally for fun. He was the new guy - he totally had it coming...

Lucia giggled as she started undressing anyway, "Whatever, it does get kinda hot in pilot suits. And I feel like I have you at a disadvantage now. Just don't go bragging about this, or I'll have to embarrass you too~"

After a short while, Lucia was stripped to her underwear too, but she got straight into her suit rather than going into a state of shock like Akira did. After zipping the suit up to her neck, she took the helmet from her locker and held it under one arm, throwing her hazel-coloured hair out of the pilot suits collar with her free hand. And, after giving Akira a sly grin, she left the room and kicked off the nearest wall, heading to one of two jet-like fighters being prepared for takeoff by the Minerva's engineers. As she climbed into the pilot seat she would fix the suit's helmet on and take a deep breath. Mock battle or no, takeoff was always a rush - the Core Splendor got catapulted out into space, it wasn't exactly the calm, easy liftoff you'd get in normal gravity.
"Yeah, copy that, Cronic. Aethon is the most battle-ready unit - we'll keep a beam rifle and a shield close by just in case there's trouble." Glitch replied in a more serious tone. "Contact me before anyone else if this hunch of yours becomes a real problem, alright? Glitch, out."
"Yes, Sir!" Izzy saluted, chuckling as they continued on. Coming so close to death hadn't seemed to leave a very deep scar on the outside. She was still the Aotisa Team #2, and.. well, Izzy. And heck, as far as danger went, Zerenis was coming with her to the industrial sector of Prosperity City.

"So what's the plan for the new boxing gloves? You gonna teach the newbies how to take a punch?" Izumi smirked at Zerenis, nudging him as the two entered the spaceport hangar containing the Minerva. As the airlock closed behind them, and the one in front opened, zero gravity kicked in. "Or maybe you could teach me how to more effectively kick someone's ass in hand-to-hand combat. I know we Reds all get that training, but I'd feel better learning from someone with experience." she shrugged her good shoulder, drifting towards the ship.
Aria nodded off half-way through the journey to the border in the Jerall Mountains. It was such a boring thing, waiting in a carriage. There was the occasional beast in the trees. Frostbite spiders travelling alone, not daring start a fight without their whole pack backing them up in the hunt. Wolves, who scattered as the carriage came through - if they wanted to rip a horse's throat out they had four humans to deal with. It wasn't worth it, but if they were really hungry they would've attacked anyway. And the other nuisance? Dragons. Aria heard they could see for miles with those massive, sharp eyes. Occasionally a few that lingered in the mountains would pass overhead, apparently unconcerned about the carriage. Besides, it was protected on both sides by thick forest. An attack could only be from behind or in front, or above - in a tight environment, the dragon might have a harder time than one might think. Aria was awake during the dragon's deafening calls, her hand rested on her Akaviri blade's hilt, but that was about it as far as her worries went. Bandits were rarer in the mountains, too. It was cold and unforgiving, so camps were useless. If bandits operated in the area, it would be from a cave or a barrow, perhaps even an old, forgotten fortress.

As the carriage reached the Bruma gates from north of the border, Aria rather ominously awakened. Something had alerted her... She looked up at the guards on the border crossing outpost, narrowing them. They didn't move, signal the carriage through or tell it to stop. Shouldn't they be greeted by one or two men? ...Aria could smell the blood with her heightened senses. Blood. The guards were dead, leaning on their posts as if they were relaxed.

"Stop. Take the carriage back onto the road. Cronic, with me. Client-man, you stay with the driver." Aria spoke clearly and confidently, giving the two no room to argue. Cronic didn't need to be told why - he was sharp, he'd travelled and likely seen things like this before. The work of bandits, usually. But on an Imperial border station...? What in oblivion had happened here? Aria jumped down from the carriage as the driver brought his horses back around, trotting off with the passenger. Both of them prepared hunting bows, eyes peeled as they waited for the Odd Jobs duo to make a decision.

"This is awkward... Does it feel like we're being watched, Cronic? Only, ...the smell of blood is very fresh. I could never get used to it. These people were killed within the hour. Maybe in the last few minutes..." Aria said, her katana being slid ever so carefully out of its saya.

(Well, they're already mixed up in the Solstheim issue. Now Skyrim also has it's Vampire problem, which in turn becomes Aria & Cronic's problem. XD)
"My ancient secrets, naturally," the old man replied immediately, and in the manner you'd expect a friendly old wizard to. The blind man stood up in front of Yomi and started feeling his facial features for some reason. "I will be honest, boy - I had my suspicions you were not of common blood. You told me your story, and how you'd been left with the short sword I assume you still carry. A peasant doesn't have a weapon unless entrusted to carry one by their lord. You were quite clearly born to be Samurai, Yomi."

Kaori rolled her eyes pridefully as the old man spoke. Magic didn't exist, right...? He would probably use some weird tricks and pass it off as the real thing. Besides, who needed magic when you were a talented warrior?
As fast as the Fire Dragon could dish out his magic-enhanced punches and kicks, Reaver was spinning and swinging the pole of the scythe to guard against the assault. A sly grin grew on the dark mage's face as he continued to defend, not fighting back or using any deadly force that he was more than capable of dealing. He was taunting the teenager.

"All exist to feed our power, Dragon Slayer. You have no idea what magic is really capable of, do you? The true nature of magic is dominance over the weak." Reaver chuckled, treating it as if he was starting a friendly conversation.
"Why thank you for noticing, Ironman! You missed again~" Blaze teased Kinzoku as she flew back from the kick. Suddenly his damned leg grew into a massive metal bat, which grew into Blaze's stomach, sending the cocky kid flying back into the gunslinging dark mage's back. Not that the woman would budge with such a light collision. Might be a nice distraction, though...

"Oof, sorry - wrong fight!" Blaze said through gritted teeth before kicking to her feet and taking to the skies. She kept her attention on the lady with the guns, but Kinzoku was the one she wanted to knock out. Focusing, she launched a steady stream of flames from her hands aimed down at the Iron Dragon.
NICE TO SEE YOU TOO BUDDY >.>

Nah, really. I'll end up posting either by tonight or as early as I can tomorrow. I'm still busy ._.
My deepest apologies x_x I found myself in England before I had the chance to post!
I'm here for two weeks, but if everyone's still here I should be able to check up on things once a night or whatever!
I SAW YOUR CAPS, AND I KNEW JAKE WAS NEEDED AGAIN!

Nah, but sheriously, I'll post on everything today. ^_^
"Let's..." Izumi stopped as she felt something pull at her mind, from far away, in the direction of the Cradle's industrial sector. It was pressuring, but she decided against pursuing this any further... For now. "Let's take this stuff back to the Minerva. And then there's something I want to take a look at, just in case," she said, nodding at Zerenis as she began walking back to the spaceport again. Whatever this was, it couldn't be ignored - and carrying around shopping in a potentially dangerous situation would really be a hindrance! Hell, it was just a curiosity, there might not be anything wrong at all...
Glitch shrugged as he stood up, bringing the communicator with him as he started on his way toward the factory. "Relax... We tested Aethon's enhanced boosters yesterday and they didn't explode - it's just a matter of finding someone stupid enough to pilot it. I believe we have a tri-tailed idiot from the Minerva for that... As for Phoenix, we've finally begun attuning the frame to withstand more intense temperatures. Nothing that'll stop a beam in it's path, but it should definitely help protect against you.. well.. burning to death inside your own Gundam," he spoke tiredly into the communicator. "They're ready to launch at any moment, but we haven't even finished the weaponry. And the psychoframes are only prototype; without you or Izzy, or even that Extended guy to test 'em, we have no idea if they work or not."
Lucia smiled back at Akira as she pulled him along and into the hangar. She pressed in her earpiece and got permission from the Captain to initiate a mock battle, and just like that, two fighter-like craft were being prepared by engineers for takeoff, the Core Splendors. They would be followed out by a Chest and Leg flyer each afterwards, which would form up in mid-flight to become two Impulse Gundams. And then they would have Silhouette packs deployed to them too, so that their mobile suit wasn't just a bland frame. But before any of that, Lucia dragged Akira through the zero gravity and into the pilots' waiting room, where there were spare suits and helmets.

"Be sure to take everything but your underwear off before you get into your pilot suit! It's so much cooler that way," Lucia advised him without a trace of mischief on her face. It was a joke, and she wanted to see if the new guy fell for it! Most pilots would only take off their jacket... Another motive was seeing if the newbie kept glancing her way as she very slowly took off her jacket - and that way she'd be able to judge him on the spot~!

"Nervous? I'm betting you've never had a mock battle before. Simulations can only teach you so much, Aki'." She asked, with some kind of seductive emphasis on the word 'nervous'. (XD)
