I'd be interested in seeing a roleplay that portrays life interrupted by war. In America if you don't watch the news, you can effectively live on without any idea we are fighting overseas, it could it could be a total surprise. Our idea of combat here is voluntary, glorified, and inflated into something we consider too surreal to imagine, yet also too disturbing to explore. This isn't so for my family from gang heavy areas in Puerto Rico and Cuba, or my friends from the Ukraine or Palestine. War grips you, appears quick and devastates fast. You are consumed by it and have no choice but to live in reaction of the conflict. That's a roleplay I'd like to see.

I personally always thought it would be interesting to do a RP centred around the Arab/Israeli conflict. I fear it would be too sensitive a subject for some people though. However, it would actually make pretty decent RP material though since it's filled with the daily struggles and drama of people trying to live in a warzone, the action sequences that come from the various battles, and most of all it's something that's happening now that many people may not give a second thought about due to the fact they live away from it.
Alright. Did you have anything else in mind appearance wise? I feel that as long as we have at least a couple identical traits we'll be fine. Like I'd imagine my character has a more athletic physique due to the fact she trained for the games while yours probably doesn't even get much to eat, being from a poor district.
Honestly, the worst character I have probably played is the sex crazed SS officer I was in a roleplay years ago. The details about him are quite vague now, but I do remember him sleeping with several inmates at the concentration camp he was working at. I hate Nazis and everything they stood for, but part of the fun of roleplaying is exploring ideas and characters different from your own.
As far as racism, sexism, etc. goes I will incorporate it into RP if the setting calls for it. Like I'm not going to do a RP about the Southern US in the 1800's without there being some sort of racism from the white characters involved. I like realism in my historical RPs, but it doesn't mean I agree with racism, sexism, etc. in real life. Roleplaying is simply another form of acting so should be treated as such.
A problem I personally have with such roleplays is that I like to have them be character driven and exploring the human side of war rather than just being constant action(of course some action is inevitable since it's, you know, war). However, many people who participate in these seem to just be interested in the action and combat aspects of it and showing off who can be the most badass Rambo character. I'm not a veteran myself, but plenty of veterans can testify that there's more to military life than just fighting on the front lines. That life behind the front lines is something I like to see explored as well that not too many roleplayers seem to be into. So yes, I think a lack of audience tends to be a big problem with trying to establish a military RP.

For the record, I've been craving a WW II character driven RP.
Not really, except for the fact I imagine my girl as dark haired. Also, I just realized something. If they're twins wouldn't they both have to be the same age? Either that or they're just regular sisters who happen to look a lot alike.
I'd say we could have a 9/11 like event, but not the exact same one that happened in real life. I'd say that's a fair compromise to both the realists here and those who are sensitive to the topic.
I might join in as Ukraine just to fuck with Russia, even though I'm personally Pro-Russian for the most part XD. Oh wait, this is 2000, not 2014...
Name: Lana Viano
Age: 17
Appearance: (Again, blank for now for the same reason you suggested.)
Gender: Female
Personality: Upon first impression, Lana appears like many of her career upbringing and background. This includes being fiercely competitive, ambitious, and loyal to the Capitol. However, Lana is not without her soft side which she is not afraid to express when circumstances allow for it. This tends to make her a rather outgoing/friendly and well liked person, at least within her own district.
Bio: (Will add later since there might be bits we need to collaborate on.)
District: 2
Weapon of Choice: Can technically use most, but her main specialty is small bladed weapons. Most notably knives.
Survival Skills: This is easily one of Lana's disadvantages(like it is most careers), but she does have knowledge of some basic survival skills as taught in the training academies. Hunting is naturally bound to be little challenge for her also due to her competence with all sorts of weaponry.
Token: A stone carved cat created by a close friend of hers who died in the games just the year previous.
Other:
District 10? Excellent. I rarely see anything about them. Also, I'm fine with them being identical twins. If anything, that'll have them instantly realize they're probably related, haha.
