@Naril Far enough. Just really enjoy those videos so it had me thinking. Honestly, if I tried to apply it to my solo writing I'd have the weirdest 5 man bad ever. Even if I literally force people into their closest role. My biggest project would have: lancer, lancer, lancer, lancer, smart guy. It's kinda hilarious. Same time I put that to my pokemon team in that same story and it works strangely perfect if I put the trainer as a mentor.

@POOHEAD189 The LOZ one. I was the Zora and the ancient robot. You were the hylian ranger.
@ihinka Oh yeah I mean Leon can fit leader, big guy, smart guy, and heart probably lancer too if he was in a bad mood. It's just on how he's played, and I'm sure others will be complex too, but even then character roles (even ones outside of these five) then to show up and link the team together. they talk about those five, but you can break those down into more specific versions if you have multiples of one major catagory. The faceman, the big lug, and the sweet innocent are all versions of the heart some mixed with other traits (big lug being heart and big guy).
@ihinka The Ranger is the 6th member and usually a wild card. Ex. Tommy from power rangers. High chance of being badasses all on their own. I just know that Pooh has played some ranger style characters before. EX the last thing we were in together I was once again the big guy as a robot and he was an actual ranger who showed up a bit late (where he met my other character who was a heart).
My favorite writing youtube series posted again today: youtube.com/watch?v=lmmNuic_4tQ

So now I'm curious who is what on our team? I mean we have 6 PCs (no offense to E, but she's clearly the boss/mentor so she's a step above the others).

I mean Leon has been fairly explicitly called the big guy, but he also covers a nice part of the smart guy rules with his magic knowledge and reliance on making stuff to get by. I almost instinctively wanna say Manny is the ranger just because I've written with Pooh before. Morgan seems equally capable of being the "heart" in the more manipulative role like "Faceman" from Ateam OR being a lancer with the dangers of her background driving a wedge between her and the group (not that Leon helps with that issue ;p). I get a feeling that Kennedy could also be the heart in the more traditional grounding of the characters. She is still the closest to the normal world and doesn't have the edgy crazy side that Malone has.

I'm not sure where Malone and Fiona join in exactly though. This whole thing will probably be easier to figure out much later down the line instead of 1 post in.
I dont remember if it was in a post or the ooc, but Leon has 5 years at the sunday group. He started a few weeks after his daughter was born lnoeing it was now or never. His wife died a couple months after that from a combination of postpartum depression, the ongoing marital stress, and reduced alcohol tollerence after not drinking during the pregnancy. She was upset, she was drunk, and then she was gone.
@ihinka They're my totems they're my rules! Smokebomb totem!
@ihinka Yeah I'll work it in really subtly.

*right as the meeting starts his phone goes off*

"Yes this is Leon... The master was murdered? I'll be right there."

*stands up from table*

"I'm sorry everyone I need to go to New Zealand to avenge the death of my totem mentor."

*pulls out teleportation totem that he totally has and vanished*

But seriously I think it could be a great link back to how he learned his shaman skills, and possibly show his full potential if he were to become a full fledged shaman instead of the "totem hunter" that he calls himself.

@PennyIt's not quite as big as moving house, but I've worked a summer camp where they moved us between cabins every once in a while. Being as you live at the camp for four months straight I wasn't packed too lightly. This camp was also built onto a hill Literally things are on stilts to keep them level. So yeah I feel the pain of having to pack up and move everything frequently.
Was studying up on shamanism and tikis again, and I found this: Pounamu

Essentially it's the sacred stone of New Zealand and considers extremely precious to the native people. The things you make out of this stuff are believed to gain what they call mana every time they are passed on. Their concept of mana is essentially a sign of authority. You either inherit the object which has a lot of mana or you earn that object through warfare. This way you have the ability to gain that status through the object.

I now really wish I knew about this stuff sooner. This would be sooooo perfect for Leon. I'd so give him some cool pounamu equipment.
