Sacha rolls her eyes. "You were a Brom the first time we met. I had every reason to dislike you." She was careful not to use the word hate. She never hated Jett, he just pissed her off whenever they were in the same area.

"But that didn't last forever," Jett pointed out, smirking slightly. He paused, disliking the pain that reminiscing brought him. But as much as he didn't want to remember, he couldn't forget. "Do you remember?" he asked, curious how much of the past she was also unable to forget.

Sacha glances back at him. She snorts. "And yet you haven't changed a bit." She shrugs and looks up at the sky. "I hope you figured your shit out the past two weeks." She says, hoping he got the hint he wouldn't be able to come back.

"I've got a general idea," Jett shrugged, playing with branches between his fingers as they walked on. By now, he had adapted to her hostility that hadn't ceased since he arrived, and he suddenly realized why it felt so familiar. "You hated me the first time we met, too," he chuckled.

Sacha nods and grabs her bow from beside her tent. "Alright, whatever you say." She slings the bow over her shoulder and heads for the camp exit. She felt a tinge of guilt for kicking Jett out, but she had to keep her word, and he would just bring up painful memories anyway. She tried to remind herself that nothing he said or ever could do could fix the past.

Jett followed after her hesitantly as she exited the camp. He glanced back as it began to disappear behind them and his eyes glazed over with sadness. He slowly turned his gaze back to Sacha and watched her marching through the forest without hesitation. He smiled and shook his head slightly. She always will be one of the stubbornest people I've ever met, he thought. As the silence began to stretch on between them, he called up to her. "You've changed a bit since the last time I saw you," he said, referencing back to years ago.

Sacha scoffs. "No Jett. I want my ex to stay in my camp and be a constant reminder of everything." She rolls her eyes. "I'll give you a few minutes to say goodbye to anyone.,

Jett narrowed his eyes slightly. I don't want to forget everything , he thought defensively, just the ending. He glanced around camp and shook his head. "Let's just go," he sighed, not wanting to draw this out any longer than it already had to be. He ducked into his tent, grabbed the small backpack that he had brought with him, and slung it over his shoulder. "We can head back towards the town I suppose."

Sacha walks over to Jett and kicks the bottom of his shoes. "You better not be sleeping." She snorts, crossing her arms
"Your two weeks are up, and I want you out of my camp. Get your things and I'm escorting you to neither territory or the Brom camp, wherever you'd like to go."

Jett jerked in alarm at the sudden prod, and sat up straight, staring back at Sacha. As he comprehended her words, he felt as though she'd punched him right in the gut. It can't be two weeks already... he thought painstakingly, but as he recounted the days in his head, he realized he had no room to argue. He opened his mouth to say something, but something about the hostile look in her icy blue eyes caused him to stay silent. He got to his feet and looked down at her intensely, a serious look in his eyes. "So you really do want me gone, huh?" he said softly.

After two long and peaceful weeks in the Rabin camp, the forest had begun to feel like home again to Jett. The fresh scents all around him, the calming sounds of the forest during the day and the pure silence during the night, with the exception of some crickets here or there. He'd done his best to follow Sacha's orders... sort of. As far as he knew, she at least was under the impression that he had. Jett wasn't exactly sure when, but at some point over the couple of weeks, it started to feel as though he never left. He closed his eyes peacefully and smiled, feeling the sunlight on his skin as he leaned against a tree outside his tent.

Destin nods a bit as he spots the camp up ahead. "Of course...no one knows what happened, so hopefully they'll just let me be..." He sighs heavily. "Please hurry back, this is already going to be painful, the longer we wait to take care of this..." He then looks down at the ground sadly.

Vera nodded wordlessly and watched Destin enter the camp before turning and sprinting back towards the river where she had left Fabine and Kianna. Now to make sure I complete my first and most important task... Don't let Fabine get killed, she thought with a sigh.

Destin sighs heavily. "They're not strangers Vera...I used to be a Rabin for awhile. Way back when I first joined...but the Broms didn't have a healer, so I felt bad and joined them instead..." He looks at her sadly. "Sacha's my best friend in the forest, we've been through so much, that's why she was so willing to let me join the Rabins."

Vera nods slowly. "I didn't know that," she said simply. Over the course of their walk, Vera had come to understand Destin's intentions and felt sympathy for the boy, although she knew nothing could be settled until Fabine returned. "We're almost to the camp," she began, hesitating before adding, "so can I trust you to stay there until Fabine and I return?"
<Snipped quote by jaywing93>

Destin nods softly. "Thank you Vera." He sighs in relief, following her towards the Brom camp. He nods. "Closure is always nice. I'm just worried Fabine won't let me leave..." He then notices her tone change. "Hey, are you okay??"

Vera shrugged and nodded. "I'm fine, but... I mean..." she struggled to find the right words. "Is it really that bad here?" she finally said softly. She recalled the time she ran into a Rabin at the river that she'd nearly fought with, but ended up instead arguing about the differences in their two groups. "What's so wrong with the Broms that you'd rather leave all of your friends for strangers?"
<Snipped quote by jaywing93>

Destin looks down and kicks at a rock. Tears spring to his eyes. "I'm still going to leave..." He whispers. "But..I'll talk to Fabine before I do..." He looks at her painfully. "Please don't tell him about Aya. If he knew it was because of a girl, he'd never let me go!"

Vera nodded her head once with a serious look in her eye. "I won't tell him," she promised, feeling a hint of satisfaction that he was no longer resisting. "If everything works out, you can at least have some nice closure before you leave," she sighed, her eyes and tone revealing a bit of the hurt that struck her at the thought of him abandoning the Broms.
