Ven chuckled at Pax's assumptions about his old comrades, but let the rest of the conversation slide. He didn't need to say any more. (
She clearly has never met any one of them) He raised his hands and nodded as she explained she 'wasn't happy' about the exterminated humans. (
Perhaps I don't giver her enough credit... Nah)
While the Captain explained her plans further, he listened along, showing nothing in the way of emotion, and simply listening. He was neither amused nor angered by the Captain's use of Nine's card, just indifferent. He made sure to memorize where every other picker was going to be during their stay at the Nomad. He figured it was best in case he faced any sort of trouble, or any of them did as well. He didn't speak until the Captain was finished.
"Is there anything in particular you want me to look for? Specificity would be helpful, though I can guess what you're going to request of me. And I appreciate the... recognition." When done, he stood up and turned to Riggs.
"I guess we'll be working together, of a sort. Though, I do wonder if your arrogance would consider it 'working together' rather than you begrudgingly accepting someone to accompany you, at the request of the Captain. It's clear you think of yourself as higher." He shrugged, taking on a completely different demeanor than he had just moments ago. He no longer cared to dwell on his crewmate's attitude.
"But whatever it is, I do not wish to care. I simply suggest we discuss a few things before we end up docking on the Nomad. It's best to have a plan, and I'm sure you are incredibly eager to share any ideas you have. Although, 'share' might not be the right word... But never mind that." He walked over and stood at the exit of the commons room.
"I'm not going to be the one to rough up the Captain, so if you're going to do that, I'll wait. And I'm sure you'll want to walk in front of me while we talk about plans."
