It's gonna be gas. Can't wait to see what sort nonsense you can pull of in focus mode with the funlance and hunting horn. Also, looking forward to new monsters to skin and wear as hats.

Dion would look to Micah. Despite his rather odd appearance, he could tell immediately he was one of his kind. This guy seemed like he'd be useful on the journey. He'd walk up to Michah and give the secret handshake all magicians knew. "I look forward to collaborating with you, if you choose to join me that is." He'd say cordially.

He'd then look at Nieth and he'd reply, "Dion Tacgnol. If you're interest, I think we should take discuss things further in the inn. Like this fellow suggested. I'm another magic user. Anyway I'm heading inside." And seeing if I can get some free beer. He thought completing the sentence he said. He was hoping some might be interested in getting pay on top of whatever they might find in the forest. some extra people to fight whatever might pop would be useful, and then there were whatever skills they might have that would be of use. Like Nieth's knowledge on forests could be useful and wouldn't harm to have.

Inside the inn, Dion would chat up the Inn-keeper and then ask about the beer. He'd offer to chill all the beer in storage for a favor. The favor being, drinks on the house after he chilled the barrels. To demonstrate, he'd chill one of the barrels. The beer that came out was refreshingly cool as the Inn-keeper took a sip of it. Convinced by the display, he'd take his offer. Five minutes later Dion was done and was drinking a beer slush as he relaxed at the table.
"What's the matter? Don't feeling like rushing headfirst to fight the monsters on their own terms?" He said teasingly to Guritag as his eyes seemed to shimmer in the dimnesss. His tone would then slip into a more serious one and continue, "But it's understandable to not want to set in now. I doubt any of us had made the preparations for venturing in yet."

There was a pause as he then looked at everyone else to make sure that they knew he was addressing all of them. "We can discuss this inside of the inn if that's more comfortable. But my proposition is simple, I'm looking to hire out people to accompany me into the forest. Aaannnd to sweeten the deal, I'll also be offering my services free of charge." He'd say. "So what do you say? Any takers?"
I can link Colors of the sky to you if you wish.

Gonna have to spend some time looking up possum folklore. If there's not enough I'm basically doing this as a schtick

I don't think the game's rules are so complex as to make reskinning one of the existing critters to be more possum-y too difficult.

If you can link me a copy I can look trough it and see what could be done.
I wanna be a trash eating possum henge.

Also count me in!

Dion's time at the mayor's was something of a mixed bag. The mayor didn't really reveal too much new information to Dion. It mainly served to reinforce what he already knew. At the very least, the organization's presence was known to him. And he had the go-ahead to go check out of the forest. And so with a cordial goodbye, Dion would leave the mayor and send a message back to the Arcanium via the seer talisman. He would inform them of his presence, the meeting, and what he knows.

As he exited the building, Dion was surprised by how late it got. The meeting which he felt was quite light took longer than expected. The sun was setting as evening was rolling in. Dion's mind immediately flashed to Guritag and the others in the tavern. "Damn, I sure they didn't leave for the forest before I could reunite with them." He said to himself as he went back to the tavern. No such luck, there were plenty there but none of them were the people he was looking for.

Dion would wander around the street thinking to himself where to look. Or what to do next as he was confident his plan would go without a hitch. He'd wander around until he saw a group of people standing around. And then he heard music being played? That sound, it was very familiar. It sounded like Guritag 's instrument. As he approached it would confirmed that it was Guritag playing it. Around her was some man he didn't see before and Nieth. "Hey there. What are you three up to? About to leave and probe the forest? Perhaps I can make a business proposition to you all."

"What the fuck is happening?" Tace thought to himself as the situation escalated and was now completely off the rails. Who the hell were these clowns? Two just suddenly appeared and offered more money. It was almost tempting to take them and the girl along. But he was about to raise that price. Something was brewing and he knew it was going to get him in trouble if caught. So he was thinking maybe a cool 15k would be enough to give him the courage to wheel them over to the Fort.

"Shinra Ranger Special Forces, don't move!"

Fuck! His instincts were really on point for this time. Great now some high level goon was sticking them up. As much as he hated Shinra, it was much too soon to get involved with whatever dissidents these people were. Still it's not like he'd be cooperating with this goon. The girl would react first and unleash some sort of magical ability creating some shockwave and threw something. It was time to act before the goon did something and or more of them swarmed them. He wasn't in the mood to get in a fight and also get in trouble with the law after getting off the boat.

"Keep your money. I don't have time for getting in trouble just yet." He'd say speaking non-specifically to them. His hand would peer out from the window holding a strip of cloth held by a levitating ball. "But let's say I'm not an uncharitable man either." With the other hand on the clutch, he'd cast a haste spell on the girl and the two men. Then he'd enter reverse and do burnout as he spun in a circle dispersing thick smelly smoke from the burning tires. The motor roared with a vigor unfitting the shabby frame and then man would speed out of the docks. He nod destination in mind, outside of just getting the hell out of here.
"Welcome aboard then Shinji." Flint would say to him. "Interesting question. Haven't interacted many times with them. They're amphibious humanoids with fish characteristics and they're pretty strong. Think they got other abilities but I can't remember right now."

Another stranger would approach. Female and with blue hair. Yet another potential recruit? He'd say nothing as he'd let the Cap' take care of things. He'd also notice Bakuto taking leave right after the bartender left. He wondered what that man was planning on doing. Surely he noticed something amiss? Well he was going to stay right here next to the captain for now.

It would be the right call. As shortly after the new girl, a talking cloud of mist was proceeding to flow out of the fireplace. Alesia would helpfully alert everyone to the fact this was a logia user. Flint would take one pre-battle sip of his iced tea which was deliciously refreshing. With a logia user, things were going to get spicy. "FLint!" She'd call out.

He already knew what to do from the moment she said it was a logia user. He'd leave Alesia, Shinji, and the new girl and depart from the side. He was trying to do his best to flank the devil fruit user attacking them. But really it didn't matter so long as he could get his attack in. With a practiced draw, his sea stone sword was already drawn and now he was delivering a chop at the mist. It wasn't a particularly heavy blow. As damage wasn't the objective here. He just was trying to get hit on the person so the sea stone effect could kick in.
Tace would be sitting in the car waiting as the traffic cleared up to get out. He continued to tap away at the phone to while away the time. In that time he managed to catch up on current events and begin to look at the various bounty bulletin board systems or BBBS for short. However, such searching would be cut short as the crowd thinned enough to finally drive. "'Bout time!" He'd thought to himself. He'd drive to the exit and while waiting on the road to clear he'd look at the phone.

"Hey, I'll give you 500 Gil, if you can take me as far southeast as you can. I'll give you 1000, if you can get me all the way to Fort Condor."

He'd glance up and see some kid. Who the hell was this? And why was she trying to hitch a ride. Five hundred for the ride, and another for hitting Fort Condor? "Make it three-thousand and you got yourself a deal kid." He'd say to her. Either she'd rightfully tell him to go fuck himself and leave, or he'd make 3k for the taxi job.

Flint who had disappeared on the crew had now returned. And he was now accompanying Captain with a new trinket in tow. It was The Sword of the Starry Night. It was a sword made of seastone, which was the Navy's favorite tool to use against the devil fruit users. The sword was a different sword with a different feel from his larger and wider sword that he regularly used. But before he had switched blades, he had used something similar in proportions to it. It was his to keep seeing as he was the only one that hadn't consumed a devil fruit. And it would be useful given he hadn't mastered the Hakis that would let him keep up with the others.

There would be the first recruit of the night. He would stand nearby and say nothing as the figure spoke to the captain. Truthfully he wasn't that worried. The tavern seemed peaceful enough save, for the slight disturbance by the Captain's attention grabbing boast. He would take a seat nearby. From there he'd order two iced teas and leisurely sip. He thouhgt about the encounter he wasn't there for with Rel'Chunk. A logia user, the most difficult of devil fruit users to fight. Well golly gee, wasn't it nice of Flint to come back and be able to use the one thing that would make the fight feasible.

When the time came, he would contribute to the fight and help snag that bounty. For now it was a time of replenishment. During the travels the crew had bled members off. That was expected, but not a good thing. The three weren't strong enough to withstand whatever the hell they'd be fighting next. More crew the better, and he was hoping that with the money they might get some improvements on the White Pearl.
