You have a map though :D I can also make a 3D model of the ship but your gonna need Google sketchup to view it since I use that program for making all my blueprints.

Kyne called back to the ork as he left to go work on the mech for her while she made her way to the airlock, nodding to Tensai as she walked by and he headed up the lift to the upper level of the ship. Just as Lug said there was a group gathering at the airlocks, mostly familiar faces but a few new ones were there too and that was what caught the Drow's interest. Walking over she had to tell the captain where she was going.
"Eh Julian I need to head to the scrap shops really quick and look for a new hydraulic pipe."
The dark skinned female towered over all the humans just like Lug and Tensai did when they walked by,
"Hey who are the new kids, ya going to introduce me?"
She added looking over everyone, the young one was kinda cute.

Kyne crawled out from the back of the cargo mech, the back casing was removed and she had several of the parts laying around her on oily rags. She had found a crack in one of the hydraulic pipes which was causing the powg the crystal housiner failures while running the machine but she was having trouble removing the crystal housing that powered the thing, it was in the way of the leaking hydraulic. Grabbing a hold of it with both hands she planted a foot on the framing and pulled with all her weight, grunting in process but she could not get the damn thing to budge.
"In'loil d'shu!" (Piece of shit!)
She growled, letting go of the part and kicking one of the mech's legs with her boot,
"Damn hume tech, stuff is so fickle."
Kyne grabbed a clean rag and wiped the grease off of her hands. She was done with this thing for now, probably just wait for Lug to come back and get him to pull it out for her, she was still mad at the ork for running off to go drinking without her, leaving the drow with all the repairs on the ship. It was a good thing she already got one of the mining lasers fixed up, what she thought was a cracked lense turned out to just be a stray rock from one of the meteorites stuck in the casing. Tossing her rag aside she walked over to the other cargobay where there was some commotion outside of the airlock, it looked like some of the crew was just getting back and Kyne heard the tell tail stomping of a certain ork as he walked up the loading ramp.
"Lug you ass, ya left me here all on my own to do all the work you shee'lot" (drunk)
She gave him a punch on the arm, not afraid of the ork since she was just as tall as him.
"I am more mad that you did not wait for me when you wandered off to the bar, I thought you were one of the smart ones."
Crossing her arms Kyne stared down the greenskin before cracking a smile,
"Glad your back though, I wanted to ask if you can finish up the mech while I run to the market quick to pick up some stuff, I found out what was wrong with it."

I like Lug, he should make the mech more dakka when he works on it.

Well with the existence of Crystal batteries the laser would work by focussing a beam of heat energy through several lenses, they would shoot like the laser rifle in fallout. Think of focussing the sun with a magnifying glass but with the power to melt through metal.

Laser bullets however would be like a particle beam, the weapon super charges particles inside the barrel and fires them with a short burst, they are highly volatile so they explode on impact but are very inaccurate.
Thats the energy based weapons

Kinetic weapons I would imagine would be the classic black powder or railguns like Mass Effect which shoot shards of metal no bigger than a grain of sand accelerated down the barrel with magnets. Those are more plausible because they work in space, plus again, batteries which would be vital for running the magnets.

Also there could be alien weapons like one I made up called a Shard Gun that works just like the Railgun but uses shards of a crystal that is broken up in the weapon and fired out either one at a time or in a massive blast with the shotgun form.
