"Elijah, today's the big day~! You're going to get to go to classes~! You're starting out in NOT, so just remember that. Oh, and you'll be in a big room with a bunch of people, and listen to a speech! Sound like fun~?," Lord Death asked, in his goofy voice. He was cheery, for a lot of new students were entering this year. He was always cheery. His cheer, though, was contrasted by the young boy's quietness and timidity. Elijah would subtly nod and quietly say, "Y-yeah..." Lord Death would clap his large hands together and say, "Alrightie then~! Be sure to have fun~! Oh, and make lots of friends there for me~!" Elijah would, again, nod and almost mumble, "Okay..." With that, he clutched his backpack to his chest and left.
Throughout the period, he would sit in a corner, solitary, and would listen to the teacher giving a speech. When the speech was over with, he watched through the corner of his eye at all of the people exiting the room, along with the teachers. The school day was over with. Eli would wait until everyone else had left. In fact, he was the last person to be in there. He would have just stayed there, were it not for a faculty member telling him that he should leave now. Elijah abided what the teacher said and left, going to the courtyard of the school instead. Eli wanted to go outside for once.
In the courtyard, he sat, all on his lonesome, on a bench. He would set his backpack beside him and look around at all of the things in the courtyard. It was really pretty, considering that they were in arid Nevada. It was nice, compared to the room he was given. His room was pretty much a cell, though. Eli would continue to stay in the courtyard, on the bench, looking around. He was trying to enjoy it while it lasted.
