Ethan Blackledge

Around a day had passed now and the survivors had made it to Texas, Ethan's hatchet was covered in stale blood from the walkers he'd killed leaving the school. He hadn't even been there for an hour before the earthquake happened and then the collapse of the building, he thought he must have just been a bad luck charm. Everyone had jumped into the cars and left just a few minutes after the explosion. Ethan was in the passenger seat of a car at the back, with people he'd never seen before.

None of them talked to each other for most of the journey, just when someone was too tired to drive and they swapped. As the car pulled up, someone nudged Ethan to wake up who'd been asleep for around an hour in the passenger seat after driving for 12 hours straight. It looked like an abandoned farm as Ethan stepped out of the car and stretched, rubbing the sleep away from his eyes.

People had already moved out getting rid of the walkers in the area. Grabbing his bat, Ethan started to walk about looking for Nikki, the only person he'd really talked to. There was a girl who'd never seen before walking about and three other people who left with them, weren't with them anymore. Something must have gone down while he was asleep.

Before he could notice anything else a stray walker headed Ethan's way slowly, growling at him. He started to swing the bat through the air before finally raising it above his head. When the walker came into range Ethan brought the bat down on it's head thunderously. Bits of the walkers head flew in every direction from the impact as the lifeless body fell to the ground.

Ethan started walking again to the barn flicking the bat to get bits of the walkers brains off it. As he entered the barn the main question that came to Ethan was 'What next?' He wanted to know who the leader was to see if he could do anything to help.

The girl looked sincere when she started to tell Ethan about the situation at the school. She started to talk about self defence, but Ethan was semi professional cruiser weight boxer. He replied with, "Yeah I can handle myself in a fight. I've been boxing for around fifteen years."

An Irish woman chuckled in the background after Nikki said she was the most dangerous woman about. "That doesn't surprise me, I've never met an Irish woman who wasn't dangerous." Ethan started to laugh with them as well.

After she continued to talk, she mentioned someone dying. It hit Ethan then that it wasn't just him that had lost people. "I'm... I'm sorry." That was all Ethan could say for now. She said her goodbyes and went off. Christian, the boy who took all his weapons showed him to a room and then quickly disappeared again. Ethan chucked his beg on the bed and laid down next to it.
Will get a post up tomorrow. :)
@Wick It went a bit longer than I expected. :p

The guard dumped Ethan's belongings on the table in front of the girl who introduced herself as Nikki. She then continued to talk about the reasons why they body searched him. "I understand your reasons. Would be a bit smarter of him to be a bit more courteous though." She gestured for him to take a seat.

Ethan watched Darius leave the room before taking the seat. The only thing he grabbed off the table was his knuckle dusters which he placed into his pocket as he listened to Nikki. "My names Ethan..." He took a few seconds to compose himself before continuing. He'd only been in the building for a minute and he was already moaning at them. "I do appreciate you letting me in, I don't really want to come across ungrateful." It took him a few more seconds to continue, with everything that had happened in the past half an hour he completely forgot about Dana Point. He felt so guilty for a second but managed to keep a stiff upper lip. Something all English people seemed to be good at. "Well I'm guessing by now that you know I'm from England. The accent is usually a small giveaway." He let out a small laugh trying to keep his morale up.

"I'd been at Dana Point for most of the outbreak. I came to the US a few months ago to do a road trip, I was travelling to L A from Vegas when I heard about the outbreak, which was lucky because I was in the middle of no where. The radios said stay away from major cities so I headed south of L A and ended up passing through Dana Point. The people were relatively untouched. They hadn't been affected much by the outbreak but we heard through the radio stations before they stopped broadcasting that the world had turned to shit. Over the weeks, we had a few walkers wondering in on their own. Three days ago..." Ethan struggled to get the next part out. "Walkers flooded Dana Point, they'd killed most of us before we'd even woke up. They must have all come from Los Angeles, I tried... I tried to save people." Ethan looked down, the guilt started to cripple him again. "There was just too many. Everywhere I turned someone else was being bit... Or ripped apart." The images were burnt into his memory. "I stayed outside of the town for a bit, trying to see if people had managed to get out. I'm just hoping some people left in a different direction because I didn't see anyone." It took Ethan a few seconds to catch his breath over the story. "I lost count of how many walkers I've killed, as for people, none, I've had a few scraps but I've never had to kill anyone yet. Any other questions?" Ethan tried to smile but you could see the sadness in his eyes.

@Wick

As he slammed on the gate, he heard voices coming from inside and then soon after the gate swung open and suddenly Ethan had a gun pointed right at him. Ethan put his hands up expecting that, what he didn't expect was to be chucked up against the wall and had his stuff stolen. "What the fuck?" He shouted in surprise but not didn't cause much resistance because of the gun.
They mentioned someone called Nikki and then finally led him inside, Ethan was clearly not impressed now. It took a while for Ethan to realize that the building used to be a school. Even in it's current condition, it was nicer than his old high school back in England. That place looked like it was about to fall down before the breakout.
They ended up in the canteen, were they led him to a girl a few years younger than Ethan. The girl was friendly, a lot nicer than the man who escorted him inside. "Yeah I'm Ethan and you didn't tell me that bastards name over there." Ethan said in a serious voice, his northern English accent clear to hear. He pointed to where the guard who'd led him in was stood. "And oh yeah, I want my stuff back what that little kid stole off me."
