@TheForgottenArc if you're okay with it?? how about they go back to visit Dan's mom? How long should that take? im guessing Kanto is a day's boat ride away. then they spend x amount of time with his mom. then go back? im guessing you want to challenge the gym after Dan sees his mom? or before?

@Balthazar007 have their levels improved enough that they might be able to see different pokemon in the locations they have been to? just wondering! also, were you going to reply as Jack at all, or no? just because it feels kind of weird double posting xD and are we allowed to level up during the timeskip or no? because I just assumed we weren't allowed to but idk. just figured I would ask! maybe we could put total hours trained or something? and the intensity? then you could call it from there? or something?
@Balthazar007 well shoot, that complicates things. No, I don't think the level gains are unrealistically fast. i think they make sense. i'd rather you not be stingier because tbh I honestly think I spend enough time writing about training sessions haha so i'm good there! i guess... well i have no idea. i just assumed we're not allowed to level up during the time skip because that would be broken, but it also feels unfair to dan's character that he falls behind his rival just because irl I want a timeskip xD

so... I dunno. I guess I can tweak my headcannon a bit for the sake of not dragging anyone behind!

@TheForgottenArc we can still do a day where they travel to see Dan's mother, however! we totally should, seeing as it's clearly an important aspect of his char!

@TheForgottenArc yeah definitely! we can do whatever you want :)

I just want to make sure I understand: they'll timeskip for awhile, but you'd like to rp out the day when they visit Dan's mom, yes? am i on the right track?

@TheForgottenArc@iKatamalicious @Balthazar007
after today's IC day...

I was wondering if we could time skip a week or two? (maybe even three?) perhaps indigo, dan, and margo just kind of vacation for awhile and hang around shamba? I ask because, while I don't mind rping out every single day, it's also gonna take forever indigo's pokemon to evolve because even tho the levels are 'correct', he's been only training for technically 5 hours a day or so for a few days. I just feel like real pokemon world wise, pokemon wouldn't evolve that soon. i feel like it'd take like... a month. and that's just stage one. when combusken turns into blaziken eventually, i feel like that should take even longer.

So I guess I'm asking if we can just timeskip for two weeks and say they kind of just did whatever? Maybe they just hung around Shamba, did some odd jobs here and there, connected more, and just took it easy? we can spin it however way we like. maybe they even went back to visit Dan's mom? basically today's IC day would end, and they would wake up and it would be two-three weeks later. everything's the same, they still have the same amount of money, levels, etc. just the time line has pushed forward. (just to keep things simple).

if that's too inconvenient though, or that doesn't seem feasible, then i don't mind! i'll just make indy's pokemon evolve as we rp our IC days out. i just figured i'd ask tho xP sorry i don't mean to be a nuisance! let me know what you guys think!
But I was SO CLOSE lmao ugh balth i hate you :/ ngl, i figured id lose anyways but when i actually got close to winning... lmao oh well, so it goes!
@Balthazar007I could probs battle now? I know I said 11 but I think this works too! I finished some homework earlier than i expected !
"Hey. Don't act like that. I'm not sure what happened to you last night or this morning or whenever, but you can't let that get to your right here, right now, when you have this big battle coming up. You gotta keep yourself focused, don't let yourself get psyched out, ok? Remember what I had told you yesterday about your pokemon? You gotta focus on that and think about how you're going to show that little brat what's what, you got that?"

He blinked. Margo was so trusting and encouraging. Would she still be, if she knew the extent to what he had done? Stop, just breathe, he told himself. Whether she would hate him or not was irrelevant-- she had a point. Focusing's the only thing that'll get me through this battle, not moping around.

But it was difficult for any teen to quell their emotions and Indy was no exception the rule. He only tried to focus on what Margo was saying.

"Come on, Indy. I'll be right there on the sidelines, and Dan is supporting you too."

Dan... I mean, he's going through a ton too. And I feel like it's worse for him than me. Do I even really get to be sad, after what I've done? I've got to pull it together. Dan, I seriously wish you were here right now...

"Got it. Margo, thanks. You have no idea how much I appreciate it, seriously. To be honest, I did something pretty terrible. And I'm not trying to be dramatic about it. I don't even know if I deserve to really feel bad when I knew better."
That terrible pain that had risen when he'd abandoned Hero was proof of that. "But you're right. I'll focus on one thing. But just... One more question. If I lose, it'll be okay, right? Winning isn't everything, right? It's just that it feels like it's the only thing that matters sometimes..."

After some final words of encouragement from Margo, Indy squared his shoulders and made his way outside. Already, a sizeable crowd had formed.

"Hey there, Jack. How are you?" Indy called out, trying to be friendly, and gauge Jack's attitude. The crowd was chattering so excitedly, Indigo was both baffled and annoyed. If only they knew how awful he was...

@Balthazar007
Can we do tonight at around 11:00?

Also, ill start the battle off after @iKatamalicious post! I hope thats okay!
Question... it doesn't matter to me necessarily how many pokemon they use but isnt 5 v 3 kinda like considered cheating? I know its like that in the games but in the show, its pretty explicit world wise that people should only fight with the same number of pokemon on either side, unless they say otherwise. Again, it's not that I mind losing, but rather 5 vs 3 just seems to not make that much sense to me? Idk if im making sense.

I'd like to be able to spin it where since neither of them specified, it ended up being a 5 on 3. But had someone specified and said it should be 3v3 or 2v2 or something, then it wouldn't seem like a disregard of rules, if that makes sense.

Hopefully I'm not being a problem xD
As Jack made his presence known, Indigo and Margo's conversation was interrupted. The few trainers that were in the center began whispering excitedly, pulling out their pokedexes and phones. Soon it became apparent that more trainers were coming out of their rooms. Indigo's pretended to ignore Jack, though he was all too aware of his opponent's presence. He leaned towards Margo.

"That kid's like a celeb or something. Ugh, man, this happened last time too. We had this huge crowd... He shook his head. "I'm just getting super nervous. This is too much. I don't know if I can handle this. " In just about 15 more minutes their battle would start. He hoped he could talk to Margo for a little longer. He desperately needed it so.

"Well, some saps are coming in just like we planned," Jack said smugly to his sister. "Why don't we go outside and hype them up?"

"Okay!" Jill replied brightly. They stepped outside.

"Damnit," Indy whispered fiercely to Margo. "This just gets worse and worse..."
