Current Tea has never inspired me, but coffee, I might have killed for. I don't know, everything is a blur before my mug touches my lips.

Which organ is it that makes cats so flexible? And can it be removed? I'm starting to have nightmares.

Bio

I prefer to write in the first person when not writing about/from a character, I am sorry if this may make me seem a bit obnoxious at times. So this is my bio, which means you are interested in finding out who or what Jyoliod is, even if it's just a fleeting moment of pure curiosity, or something to pass the time in-between posts. Either way, I shall indulge you, while also throwing my ego out there for the world of RPGuild to observe.

Jyoliod is, or rather, I am, a character on the stage of RPGuild playing the puppet master of (soon to be)various characters, eccentric, gloomy, thoughtful, harsh, annoying, these are all attributes I may throw into posts depending on the author's state of mind, yet I hope to hold a solid presence of familiarity that I can share with all of you. My goal is ultimately to enjoy my time while not disturbing the comfort of others here in the guild, in the guild I'm not only looking for various RP's to enjoy and craft, but also friends and discussions to partake in. Though, in this manner I can be quite submissive and enclosed, I'm not much of an extrovert so bare with me if you will.

I am always happy to have a discussion and I really enjoy learning new things, so if you're bored enough to have read this far, throw a topic at me in a PM and see where it goes. But enough of that, I'll throw out some more substantive stuff in regards to my RP out-look.

The Genre I like:
Horror
Fantasy/High-Fantasy
Action
Heavy Magic Emphasis
Science/Technology Emphasis
Modern
Slice of Life
Apocalyptic/Post-Apocalyptic

The Genre I'd like to try:
Diplomatic Emphasis
Sci-Fi
Mystery
Family

The Genre I tend to avoid:
Fandom

RP Style:
1x1
Casual/High-Casual
Advanced
Arena

I like:
An emphasis on detail, I have a structure complex and find it easier to post when a RP is well defined. However, I'd gladly jump into a free-for-all sandbox type RP just to let loose from time to time, but never as something I plan to or hope to do long-term. I like character development and creating personal quarrels to over-come as a character. I especially enjoy the idea of long-term RP's where the character not only develops mentally but also physically.

Gore is also something I enjoy incorporating into my posts, though I only use it in the proper context. It's an easy thing to detail but also has a lot of room to work with, you have so many areas you can choose to detail and such a post, pulled off correctly can easily contribute, quite powerfully, to the current atmosphere of the RP.

Other Stuff:
I am dyslexic, meaning when I read and write, words and letters can often be switched around or substituted for completely different words or letters. This is an issue I try to stay on top of , but if you go through a post and find the structure of words or letters to be mixed up, I'd be grateful if you informed me of this. I make it a habit to re-read my posts three or four times to combat this.

Thanks for clarifying for me!

Australian high schools actually have six, starting from year 7. But what primarily confused me was the terminology, I wasn't sure if using the term '10th grader' was accurate in place of the term 'sophomore'.
To be disappointed.

Without fail, my interest in humanity leads to a new revolting discovery thanks to the internet.
Sometimes though I'm just disappointed that I forgot to remove that person from facebook who keeps filling my news feed with their hallow inspirational messages slapped over pictures that used to be cool.
Hoen let out a brief sigh of relief as he grabbed his backpack, the weekend was beginning and he was glad to have the break from this place. Steel grey orbs shifted from one side to the other as Hoen's gaze absorbed his surroundings, around him several of his grade 10 classmates hurried frantically to gather their items and rush to their waiting parents. "Pfft." Hoenhime huffed at the air. Something about the scene bothered him, sliding his slender pale hands into his pockets he shifted through the halls at a slow leisurely pace.

Suddenly a tap on his shoulder caused Hoen to straighten his back and turn to meet the disturbance, it was Jonathan, the 'ace' of his class. Hoen didn't have a particular liking of Jonathan, a few times he had approached Hoen in regards to cases where Hoen had upset others. Such a nosey and bothersome person he was, "What do you want?" Hoenhime offered coldly.

"Well, I heard a rumour that you got one of those weird old parchments... is that true?" Jonathan responded.

"And if it is?"

"I got one as well not long ago, but it had an odd note with it. I was wondering if you knew anything more about them?" Jonathan asked in a friendly tone.

"A note? Mine was found just as is. Regardless I know don't anything. Is that all?" Hoenhime asked in reply seeming impatient. In actuality he had as much time as he wanted, however, Hoen found acting impatient made others uncomfortable and he didn't mind leaving such an impression on Jonathan.

"Actually, something about my parchment got me thinking... I wanted to arrange a little get together with everyone who got one to try and see if we could figure anything out about them." Jonathan responded with a smile. He was quite a patient person to no be discouraged by Hoen's attitude.

"I'll pass." Hoenhime responded flatly.

"Oh come on, aren't you curious about what the parchments mean? Clearly someone went to a lot of effort to get the paper looking so old and I bet there is something to them!" Jonathan insisted in protest.

"I have no interest in chasing some stupid riddle. But if it'll get you to leave me alone, I'll just give you the piece of junk." Hoenhime offered in return.

A sly smile fell across Jonathan's face, one that made Hoen feel uncomfortable. "Great! Drop it off behind the gym here at school tomorrow around 2PM yeah?!"

"What n-" Hoenhime was cut off.

"Great thanks! See ya' there! I'll be waiting! Remember, behind the gym at 2!" Jonathan shouted as he distanced himself from Hoenhime.

Hoen moved to pursue the charismatic 'ace', but stopped when he noticed Jonathan was already talking to another person, Sarah Smith, the gossip queen from one of the other year ten class groups. Hoen let out a sigh, he wasn't keen on having another run in with Sarah, they weren't exactly on the best of terms. She had tried to get close to Hoen once when she heard his family was rich, assuming having a rich friend would make her more popular, the relationship was short lived when Hoen told her she talks too much about useless 'crap' as he had said it. Never the less, they have been at odds ever since. Hoen shrugged his shoulders as he turned his back on the pair and continued his route out of the building, continuing his journey he stopped only to sip from the drinking fountain. As he followed that familiar route home Hoen felt displeased, he'd managed to avoid his brothers this morning, it was a great start to his day he thought, but there was no avoiding their smug gaze when ever he returned home from school. "Oh well..." Hoen muttered to himself while keeping his relaxed pace.
Is it just me or are people a bit inactive? I imagine they're all just waiting for their not in IC but a few people just really haven't been around. Any thoughts on the matter?

And, I was really hopefull to see Reflection make another char for this but, oh well.

Oh, just noticed this thanks to @Marik's response. I know what you mean but we're at a pretty slow point in the story, I don't think any of us expected the stead flow of new people while the tourneys were rolling. I think for sake of progression, any new characters to come before we finish with the tourneys should be kept out of them.

Also, I'm not too versed on how users here operate but it could be possible that some people who were with us originally fled due to the larger posts? The IC was listed in casual after all, but that's just a guess, I wouldn't think much of it unless you know something that would confirm this.

I think once we start teaming up most of us will have some dialogue exchange to keep us relevant to the IC posts.
"What is this sensation?"

. . .

"It feels familiar... Have I done this before?"

. . .

"Yes, I have. But what am I doing?"

Juric opens his eyes slowly, revealing two metallic grey orbs reddened by his daze. Déjà vu envelops Juric as that familiar scene stretches out before him, a busy suburban street drenched in shades of white, black and grey. Everything is still and motionless, everything except Juric, who drags his bare feet against the cold pavement beneath him. Slowly he shifts his 6'1" frame past the frozen people on the sides of the street, their frozen forms implying their future actions like silhouettes conveying a message. One women leant over a pram comforting her child, another pushed an envelope into a post box, left of Juric a guy stands frozen with his gaze locked on his watch as he waits for the pedestrian lights to grant him safe passage. Each one of them, a different human being with a different life, they live in different homes and have different friends. Reflecting on his sonder thoughts Juric continues to shift his form through the motionless, black, white and grey scenery, unsure of where he is going or even where he came from.

"This is it, isn't it?"

. . .

"My existence."

Suddenly as if to protest his assertion a sudden force pushed Juric off balance, reaching for a nearby wall Juric hit the ground with a jolting shock when his hand phased through the wall effortlessly as if it weren't even there. On his back Juric watched as the black, white and grey scene of the street disappeared into the distance, leaving nothing but empty blackness around him. He looked left, he looked right but either way there was nothing but that deep piercing darkness. Juric shifted and hugged his knees to his chest, this abyss left a peaceful feeling within him, a longing feeling.

"This too, is my existence."

. . .

"Not yet, no. But it will be, I wonder when?"

. . .

"I guess that is up to me... Soon maybe."

Juric took a deep breath, closed his eyes and hugged his knees close. He felt peaceful here, but part of him hated it, this black abyss, this nothingness. Part of him kicked and screamed and swore and fought, part of his feared this place more than anything. As Juric lay there, he knew he'd no longer be able to see the scene of the black, white and grey street drifting further away, but he could feel it drifting further and as it drifted, that part of him that hated this place grew stronger. It grew so strong he wanted to thrash and swim his way through the abyss to get back to the street, to get closer to that place to cease his silent protests.

"There is no going back, this existence is all encompassing. I know that, I know that very well."

. . .

"But is it really okay for me to not try? Am I content with this abyss?"

Suddenly, as if the answer had dawned on him Juric shifted his figure in the abyss, now he was thrashing his arms, he was kicking his legs, he was swimming back to his old existence. He swam and swam, pushing himself like he had never done so before, and as he did the black around him slowly brightened, it's tones shifting slowly until finally it was crimson. Suddenly Juric felt an urge to breath, but there was no air, he was only surrounded by crimson. Thrashing harder now, he swam until finally he penetrated the surface of the crimson sea, covered in the crimson liquid he breathed deep of the humid air around him.

Jolting awake Juric was hyperventilating, he felt the warm quilt of his mattress enveloping him with a layer of sweat. Juric's eyes darted frantically between his eye lids as they drank in the scene before him. It was his bedroom, he started to calm down as he gathered himself. "A dream," Juric said as he let out a sigh of relief. "Just a dream again..." Juric reached at his bed side table grabbing his black rimmed glasses and sliding them onto his face. The room was dark, but his eyes had already adjusted enough for him to reach for the lamp next to him.

Flicking the light on revealed Juric's somewhat bare room, old clothes patches the floor here and there while a brown wardrobe sat in a corner to the right of the room, it's drawers pulled out mostly and empty. Juric pushed his thick red blanket off of his sweaty body as he picked himself up. "I'm parched." Juric thought to himself. Shifting his frame to his bedroom door Juric left his room into the small living room of his apartment, in the far right corner an old T.V. blurted and flashed various colours as the late night news program played. "Left it on again I guess." Juric's inner monologue echoed. Dragging his feet over to his old, marsh green couch he sifted his hands over the cushions until he found the remote. Bringing his arm up her aimed the remote at the T.V. before pausing to listen to the broadcast.

"... startling reports all over the world this evening as another wave of creature attacks decimate small towns across Europe, Asia on the other hand have had some success in suppressing the attacks while reports from the Americas are slightly more fickle with the US and Mexico reporting low numbers of causalities while South America and Canada suffer much larger casualties." The announcer says sternly. Interested Juric shifts his body, leaning on the couch with his arms crossed. "I take you now to a statement reordered earlier today of US military representatives speaking to the UN."

The image on the screen fades to a stern looking scarred man dressed in military colours, his uniform is filled to the brim with various medals despite his young age. "Many meetings and conversations have been held between the US government, US military and foreign powers. We have come to the conclusion that leaving any one nation to fend for itself during these harrowing events is absolutely not an option. For this reason the US military will be opening it's bases all over the world to a very limited protocol that would allow local governments to request US military aid at key locations the government deems important." The young man pauses for a moment shifting his stern gaze over the officials seated before him in the UN. "Furthermore, with help from our allies in Europe and South America, the US military is developing a specialised force tasked with offensive goals in regards to these creatures. As an incentive to further promote this task force, the US military will be offering more support to countries who contribute to this new task force. That is all."

The television fades to black as Juric hits the power button, "Is it really that big of an issue? The media has been exaggerating a lot lately." Juric thinks to himself before chucking the remote back onto the couch. Getting himself a cup of water he moves back into his bed room, removing his glasses and lying down. Letting out a long sigh he whispers to himself. "School tomorrow..."
As Hoen is kind of a jerk, he doesn't have many friends, so we should probably stick to the idea that they only know of one another through class activities or rumours rather than being friends or having a casual and frequent exchange.

Also I am completely fine with you taking that rout, the VMS is definitely capable of some dark things, especially in regards to Rituals, Alchemy and Summoning. As for Hoen, he'll probably take a very cautious path, wanting to become a pioneer in the field of Victus Magic, yet obsessing over the idea that he'd come to rely on it, resenting it somewhat. This'll likely push him to cases where he attempts to forego the use of Victus Magic if he is hubris enough to think he can do something on his own with his own body.

I'll be using the OOC a lot of pan out the plot as we go so we both know where we are at, as I imagine this can get a bit sandboxy (solo interactions) at times pretty early on. Since it'll be very relevant, I'll quickly drop a little bio of the other three students we'll be meeting up with in-story.

Markus Little, the oldest of the students to receive a parchment he recently turned 17 years old and is in the 11th grade(does America use the number grade system? Or would it be something like '2nd year high schooler') being the oldest in his class. He has the parchment inscribed with the glyph of Outer Essent. He's your typical popular jock who often keeps to his own crowd. An approachable person he isn't that bright and keeping his attention isn't an easy task, as his teachers have found out to their dismay.

Sarah Smith, at 14 she is among the youngest in her 10th grade class. Often coined as a 'bitch' by her detractors she is the height of popularity in her year group, being a centre hub of school yard gossip. Though her position garners some hate, most of it is ill warranted as she is often kind to strangers, though she does have a weakness of judging people according to their popularity and what rumours she's heard about them. Your number of friends can determine whether she will be a kind friend or whether she will treat you as if you do not exist. She carries the parchment adorned with a glyph representing the Entropic realm of Quel.

Jonathan Hyre, a 15 year old considered the envy of many of his peers, he is the top of his class academically and in regards to sports. Despite his popularity he has a rather humble and kind nature, often helping those who have been bullied when he becomes aware of it. He considers himself a normal young man and despite his exceptional intellect and athletic skill, the rest of his life could be summed up as 'average'. He carries the parchment of the four pointed star along with the unusual note.

This of course leaves Hoen with the parchment of the Inner Realm, Wistoh.
Welcome to the guild Josiath, if you've got any questions or need a hand with anything, feel free to send me a PM. Beyond that, enjoy your time here! or else...
Welcome Adeline, I think everyone is unique in their own way, but that just may be some abstract sonder thoughts making their way out. Regardless, welcome to the guild, I hope you enjoy your time here. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or need any help with anything and I'll help you the best I can.
Hey Stern, I had an idea for an arc just wanted to bounce it off you.
The arc is more of a 2nd part to the Scribes Grimoire, it would be focused around our characters coming to terms with what happened and their new abilities after that year long gap. I'm thinking something about us seeing one another, or one of us spotting the others book could bring it on, what do you think?

Additionally, I'm going to be doing the first IC post soon, I'm thinking about starting our setting off at school on a Friday, we've just found a note or were previously approached by the fifth student with the four pointed star parchment and the mysterious note that came with it, *** and he's told us to meet him on school grounds the following day, eluding to knowing something about the odd parchments we ourselves received.

Just thought I'd give you a heads up, of course as to the fashion of what I've said previously, you can choose to lengthen this out by not going to the school grounds on Saturday, I'll work around it with the NPC's by making the fifth student increasingly persistent. As a final note you can take control of any NPC, including the fifth student, just thought I'd clarify that point.

***(NOTE: I wrote in the arc itself that his parchment had a pentagram on it, that was a mistake on my part.)
Most people seem to have grouped up, and I am having trouble finding a spot to naturally introduce Yoyo to anyone. That has been my hesitation at least :/

I can get Jinshi to introduce himself to Yoyo, no problem. You fine with teaming up with a Makyan?

If so, I'll tackle that in my next post a bit later on today.
