Bio
I prefer to write in the first person when not writing about/from a character, I am sorry if this may make me seem a bit obnoxious at times. So this is my bio, which means you are interested in finding out who or what Jyoliod is, even if it's just a fleeting moment of pure curiosity, or something to pass the time in-between posts. Either way, I shall indulge you, while also throwing my ego out there for the world of RPGuild to observe.
Jyoliod is, or rather, I am, a character on the stage of RPGuild playing the puppet master of (soon to be)various characters, eccentric, gloomy, thoughtful, harsh, annoying, these are all attributes I may throw into posts depending on the author's state of mind, yet I hope to hold a solid presence of familiarity that I can share with all of you. My goal is ultimately to enjoy my time while not disturbing the comfort of others here in the guild, in the guild I'm not only looking for various RP's to enjoy and craft, but also friends and discussions to partake in. Though, in this manner I can be quite submissive and enclosed, I'm not much of an extrovert so bare with me if you will.
I am always happy to have a discussion and I really enjoy learning new things, so if you're bored enough to have read this far, throw a topic at me in a PM and see where it goes. But enough of that, I'll throw out some more substantive stuff in regards to my RP out-look.

I like: An emphasis on detail, I have a structure complex and find it easier to post when a RP is well defined. However, I'd gladly jump into a free-for-all sandbox type RP just to let loose from time to time, but never as something I plan to or hope to do long-term. I like character development and creating personal quarrels to over-come as a character. I especially enjoy the idea of long-term RP's where the character not only develops mentally but also physically.
Gore is also something I enjoy incorporating into my posts, though I only use it in the proper context. It's an easy thing to detail but also has a lot of room to work with, you have so many areas you can choose to detail and such a post, pulled off correctly can easily contribute, quite powerfully, to the current atmosphere of the RP.
Other Stuff: I am dyslexic, meaning when I read and write, words and letters can often be switched around or substituted for completely different words or letters. This is an issue I try to stay on top of , but if you go through a post and find the structure of words or letters to be mixed up, I'd be grateful if you informed me of this. I make it a habit to re-read my posts three or four times to combat this.
The sun was kissing the horizon by the time Hoen made it to the rather large estate he begrudgingly called home. Marching up their long drive way Hoen paid the lavish garden beds full of flowers no mind, the sight would no doubt draw awe from others, however, living in the estate he found their appearance more superficial than anything, just another decoration aimed at showing others that Hoenhime's family had what others did not, or so he thought anyway. Hoenhime stopped briefly and looked over the place he called home, it was a large three story building adorned in a pale yellow white, complemented by marble pillars that held up a small covering protruding from above the front door. From the front you could count six rooms by their large windows dotting the structure in two vertical rows perfectly symmetrical from one another. The house contained a basement, attic, large kitchen and dinning room, three bathrooms, a huge living room as well as two studies, a dedicated entertainment room an ensuite and several other rooms, however, had you asked anyone who lived in this building for these details, save for the housekeeper, you'd likely get a very different response.
Hoenhime's parents worked a lot, their illustrious careers keeping them from home for prolonged periods of time, this made the estate an unpleasant place as it often felt quite empty without a proper commanding presence. For this reason Hoenhime and his brothers tended to keep to their own areas of the house. Though without fail most evenings his brothers would have guests over causing a mess in the living room and entertainment room on the first floor. It was for this reason Hoen felt blessed to be have the only occupied bedroom on the third floor, this was also where his father's study rested, housing several old and worn books covering the greater part of two walls.
As Hoenhime entered the estate a slim women in her twenties, dressed in a black frilly blouse with black dress pants rushed from down a hall to welcome Hoen. "Good evening Hoenhime." Marie said politely. Her long blonde hair sat tied back into a bun while thin square rimmed glasses sat elegantly on her face. The housekeeper always seemed to have a professional look about her, despite her rough and sometimes brutal nature.
"Hello Marie, it's quieter than usual, please tell me my brothers are in the hospital or some similar fortunate situation has come to be." Hoen stated sarcastically. His disdain for his brothers and theirs for him was no secret.
"I'm afraid not, Marcus is in his room listening to music while Wayne has yet to return home." Marie replied quickly. A concerned look grew on her face, she too wasn't a big fan of Hoen's older brothers, their spoilt nature and position of power often came to ill effects for Marie, though she knew how to enforce a degree of respect from them when ever they stepped too far out of line. That said, she was clearly chosen for this position due to her ability to handle Hoen's brothers rather than any particular skill in regards to housekeeping, this often meant that she'd come to Hoenhime for help regarding certain matters. Although an annoyance, Hoenhime didn't mind too much being relied on, it gave him a sense of responsibility and he appreciated the idea that there was someone who needed him in the world, even if it was for such minor affairs.
"Looks like it'll be a good day after all. I'll be heading to my room now." Hoenhime stated as he began walking towards the stairs.
"What should I do if Wayne doesn't return before sun down?" Marie asked with a concerned tone.
"Don't mind him, hopefully he wont return at all." Hoen replied.
"I'm serious, should I call him?" Marie snapped. After all this was not a joke to her, it was apart of her job.
Feeling somewhat annoyed at her incompetence, or maybe at the fact that even when he wasn't here Wayne was still in some way demanding his attention, Hoenhime responded sternly. "I doubt he'd answer, if he doesn't then..." Hoenhime looked at his watched. "Call mother in an hour and she'll take care of it."
"Are you sure it is okay to pester Mrs. Exentia with something like this?" Marie responded. Her inexperience was abhorrently clear, but it couldn't be helped, she was hired only a few months ago after all and she wasn't yet used to how things operated in this household. She'd no doubt get a response from Hoenhime's mother that Wayne told her he was spending the night at a friends house and that would be that.
"Well what would you prefer? To leave Wayne to his antics or pester Mother to find out what he is doing?" Hoenhime responded sharply. He turned back towards his path leaving Marie to weigh her choices. As he shifted towards the stairs on the 2nd floor leading to the 3rd Honehime could hear loud rap music resonating from Marcus's room down the hall, he felt relieved that his brother had decided to keep to his room this evening. Between the two Marcus was definitely the more obnoxious while Wayne was more conniving.
Hoenhime shifted his way to his bedroom, it's door nestled to the far east of the house. This is where his today would end and the his tomorrow would begin, he'd dwell on the happenings of his day as he did his homework, then he'd go to sleep expecting a similar experience tomorrow, after all Jonathan's sly little antic seemed to impose a degree of responsibility onto Hoenhime, whether it is warranted or not.
Thank you, I'm back now and starting to get back on track. I'll be posting the post that I mentioned six days ago now (sorry about the wait) after some quick revisions.
Though in regards to TAFE, I guess it would be referred to as a type of college if it were in America. It is a type of institute here in Australia that is primarily geared towards awarding specific certificates for different subjects. These certificates are recognised by employers and the subjects range is vast and specific. TAFE also houses preparation courses for those going to University or people who have had to leave high-school before year 10 yet still wish to pursue education(I'd once fit into both these camps).
The unique thing about TAFE here in Australia is that although the certificates aren't as 'prestigious' as a University degree, there are some industries were a TAFE certificate is considered preferable. That is probably because of how refined and specific the TAFE courses can be, put simply, if you are in Australia and you want to learn computer networking and only computer networking, you'd find what you're looking for from TAFE. ~ I assume that the U.S. has at least a somewhat similar system, as TAFE has probably been one of the most 'common sense' educational system structures I've come across so far.
I'm back, just getting my shit together. I can work on a response a bit later, just wondering where your frame of mind in regards to the plot is right now @agentmanatee, I've got primarily two questions: 1. Is there anything specific you're looking for us to do to move the plot forward? (Such as wanting us to repaint our armour, + anything else?) 2. How are we going to transition the story to our new environment in the Warp? My current assumption is that you'll detail the grand entrance to the Warp when you feel we're all ready, is this correct at all? Just wondering~
Just letting ya' know I'm back, I'll give the story a read over a bit later and see where I can jump in, I'll make sure not to just throw Jinshi into the frey as if he came out of no where though.
I'll give you a run down next time I can, but sadly I have to say sorry to do this but an emergency has come up that will keep me from my computer for the next three to four days. I'll get working on my post the moment I return! Sorry about this.
Hey @Geoffrey Silt I've got a bit of emergency that is going to take me away from home for the next three or four days. Sorry to put a kink into things but you'll have to progress with out me for now. I'll work out something for Jinshi when I am able to get to my computer again, sorry about this.
Hey Guys, a bit of an emergency has come up for me, so I'm not going to have access to my computer for the next three or four days. Sorry, I'll let you know when I'm back!
Yeah, the 7th graders going to high school is a fairly recent change, in fact in the area I grew up I was apart of the last year seven grade to take place in our grade school, (which meant I was graduating to high school with the year 6's.) I'll quickly address the terms grammar school and primary school, in Australia anyway grammar school seems to be a school that have a required level of intellect for students to attend, though I could be wrong as I don't know of many of them, in one case anyway it was just used as a title for the school. Additionally one of the high schools I attended called itself a 'college', though it was no such institute, then again we do not have colleges in Australia, only TAFE and Universities.
In Australia we don't have middle school, it's split up into Primary school and High school. Primary school including from preschool, kindergarten to year six (seven previously) then High school containing from year seven to twelve. I had the misfortune of having to move around a lot and so I attended many different primary schools and a few high schools, no teachers ever made a distinction such as middle school, though we also don't use the term grade school over here. So I guess you could say Primary school is the equivalent to grade school in America and that middle school is instead broken up between our High school and Primary school institutions. Although in most high schools here the grade 10 to 12 students wear a different coloured uniform and are prohibited from going to areas designated as 7 to 9 grade locations without permission, though that might have been an exception for the main high school I attended as it was ripe with violence.
EDIT: Still working on my post, though as of typing this it's pretty late. So I'll wait until tomorrow to give it a proper look over before I post it. There might not be too much interaction between our characters just yet, I hope you do not mind that.
@The_written_John I have no doubt that Jinshi would lose to your character, primarily because your character is a species he's never faced before. He's never taken on something with a tail and wings, so any post that uses them against him initially will likely get a good drop on him.
. . .
I'll send you a PM and we can pan things out a little there, keep things a surprise for the rest, yeah?
Juric's morning conformed to it's usual routine, he awoke before his alarm and brewed himself a cup of coffee. Breakfast, some toast, was paired with the early morning news on his television before he reviewed his homework with another cup of coffee. Then after scrubbing his teeth, he'd leave his apart ensuring to lock the deadbolt. He'd navigate the streets of his local area in the pale blue morning embrace as steam clung to his breathe, so engrained was his routine it required next to no concious effort on his part to maintain. Juric looked down at his marching legs, he was lost in thought imagining what his day would be like, that too, no doubt like the rest of his day will, conformed to a familiar routine.
In an effort to bring some variety to his black and white existence, Juric dragged his gaze away from his marching feet and observed his surroundings. Something was odd, slightly unfamiliar about this usually familiar path. it seemed the streets were more empty than usual, and some houses looked different, one house had replaced their fence with a larger metal one, while another house had steel bars over its windows. 'Did they have anything to do with the recent events involving the creatures?' Juric thought to himself. A smirk sprawled across his face, "People are so gullible, it's almost insulting to think that I am from the same species." Juric's inner monologue consulted. There was no doubting that these creature attacks were real, but from Juric's view it is being conflated far out of proportion like anything he'd viewed from the media. He remembered back to the supposed 'Sie Flu' epidemic in Australia, the media coverage made it seem as if Australia was on the hinges of martial law, yet in the end only 12 people died and a vaccine was quickly conceived. The same thing had happened with the ebola virus, although it was much more severe the media's portrayal had people convinced the end was near. "How pathetic!" Juric thought to himself. Is money really such a valuable thing people would willingly and gladly manipulate one another with such a thing as fear? The thought made him sick. Despite his sadistic tendencies Juric felt it particularly cruel to take advantage of ones stupidity in trade for profit.
Shaking those thoughts from his mind Juric spotted a large collection of buildings surrounded by a marble wall, a large opening sat ahead of him with a path for students to enter and leave as well as space for cars to drive in and park. A large metal plaque sat affixed to the wall that read 'Vale Institute of Learning', that was their fancy title for 'High School'. Unsurprisingly the grounds were devoid of any other students, Juric had a habit of being very early. As Juric shifted his figure through the school grounds he approached a large three story redbrick building, this was where he'd spend the majority of his time here, on the second floor designated for the year 11 classes. Entering the large building Juric marched towards the stairs, stopping briefly as he always did to gaze down the hall that stood outside the year 10 classes on the first floor. As always, a lone figure sat patiently outside their classroom, despite Juric's earliness, there was still someone who was nearly always here earlier than he was. The image triggered sonder thoughts as it did most morning, for some reason seeing that figure affirmed a reassurance within Juric that he wasn't alone, but with that sonder reassurance also came a feeling of lachesism. Still standing at the stair well Juric slid the sleeve of jumper back on his left arm revealing several thick and straight scar marks from where he had harmed himself. His sonder thoughts made each scar seem like a shameful display of an inability to handle the harshness of life, he was a weak person or so he felt.
Sure he had a tough past, in fact it was horrific, but there exist those in the world who endure much worse and yet their arm wasn't laddin with cut scars like his. They didn't wallow in self hatred like he did, they lived on. The thought made Juric angry, he felt as if his life was undeserving of existence, but, he was here and that was that. He was given the gift of life by those he loved and so he thought, even if it is a pathetic life, it is still one worth living.
Marching up the stairs Juric waited outside his classroom, his head bent forward and down staring at his feet as he welled on his thoughts. He was reminded of the care takers at the orphanage he grew up in, their harsh words directed at his weak psyche when ever they caught him cutting himself. "You will never get to have a normal life unless you start acting normal!" He remembered quite specifically. Those words stuck with him as if they were burned into his mind with hot iron.
