Raven's Inn

Murderok the Horny
Gryff the Hung *like a horse*

Gryff and Muderok had followed Maher and Nadira to the top of the tower both having to lean down to prevent knocking their heads on the ceiling. The smell of the chamber was less than inspiring and the sight of the chest did little to encourage them. Gryff picked up the note and read it's contents.

"It's for you." He said handing the note to Maher. Without waiting for much by the way of confirmation Gryff turned to Murderok. "Nothing to hit on the head here Murd, but there is a bomb and a riddle, how about we go downstairs back to that big cat." Gryff turned to Maher and Nadira. "Hey guys, if you think you've gone and fucked up, please scream out so Murd and I can spend the last moments before it goes off playing wishbone with the Big Cats limbs.

Heading back down the stairs the two mercenaries went back downstairs to the big cat and decided that it'd be more fun if each grabbed a foreleg and hindleg each. A quick game of Scissors, Paper, Rock later and Murderok planned to take the left side of the big cat. "Now lissen here pussy." Murd remarked as he looked at the big cat. "Iffn our pals up there don't get this bomb right, our last moments will be tearing you in two, so be a good pussy and don't give us any trouble, or i'll take you like a farmers daughter looking for a good time, am I clear?"

I'm not so sure brain is 100% necessary :p

I'm interested - though I haven't heard of any of those video games. I have several characters in mind - though the front runner is someone that would fit the medic role.

You haven't heard of any of them :o

There's a couple trailers to the latest one.
Here duh :p

Earth

Terraformed Mars

Terraformed Venus

A time of change.

The year is 2099 and after more than fifty years of the most advanced social and scientific progress man had ever seen, finally, Mars and Venus had both been successfully terraformed and colonised. Mars with a population of nearly a hundred million and Venus with a good thirty million it was publicly advertised that humanity was now in a golden age. It was a time of great future and advancement, many diseases had been eliminated through stem cell research. There was even significant progress in the realm of 'medicinal cybernetics' though science had yet to produce cybernetic prostheses significantly better than the original.

But six months prior to the beginning of the new year (Earth time), there was an attack on the Olympus Mons Research Campus on Mars, of the hundred and thirty researchers and staff only 42 bodies were recovered, half destroyed by some sort of weapons fire that people have yet to identify. At the same time raids on Earth began by a strange unidentified force hitting targets of no apparent value, farms, homesteads, the occasional 7/11, there were even some raids on Venus.

After a further ten weeks finally it was decided, without question, that it was the agency of extra-terrestrial intelligence and an ancient initiative was activated.

The Sol Defence Initiative.

Adelai Niska
The High Opera; Alderaan

The booth at the upper end of the Opera house was barely occupied. Adelai Niska was seated in the seat he typically reserved when he spared the time to attend to entertainments like this, though rarely was it all entertainment. Events like this also tended to serve as somewhat of a standard business meet. The opera continued on below as Niska patiently listened.

The man sitting next to him was more nervous. Though the Syndicate was not one to shy away from violence, cruelty and torture, it was still less than comforting to be near a man who literally revelled in a 'Solid Reputation' built upon it. "I was asked to see you." The man said and immediately regretted it based on the frown the elderly gentleman gave him. A frown that vanished shortly afterwards.

"I'm sure you were. I doubt you'd be here voluntarily." Niska replied. "Especially since you have no reputation." Niska continued. "You were sent because you are, ultimately, expendable, yes?" Niska said and the man knew it wasn't a real question. And the manner in which the third occupant of the booth hovered cleaning his fingernails with an inactive vibroknife. Crow watched all too bored and the man wondered when the brute might decide to practice on him, unknowing that it was a carefully designed approach to aiding his boss. "But you would not be sent to see me without good reason. What does the good Antone Zann want with me today?"

The man fidgeted more in his seat. "My boss wants you to find a Black Marketeer by the name of Hanris Vaas. He has an operation in the Syvris system, according to our intelligence he has since vanished but he still has people guarding it as far as we know. The honourable Antone Zann has a great respect for your reputation and wishes you to secure him for... due process."

Niska continued to watch the Opera for the next thirty minutes as the man worried in his seat. He could hear his own heartbeats over the music. Sweat ran down his face in rivers as he looked to Niska, then Crow.

As soon as it looked like he was about to overcome his fear and speak Niska spoke. "You may tell your boss that we will find his wayward Black Marketeer and even return him intact to him. Even more co-operative than he might otherwise be." Niska smiled and the man felt his blood run cold as ice. "Mr Crow, please escort this man out, we wouldn't want anything untoward to happen to him."

Crow stood up and sheathed the blade, the representative of Antone hurrying to his feet and outside before Niska's henchman decided he needed to be thrown out.
When Crow returned to the booth he saw Niska preparing to leave. "No more business tonight boss?"

"Oh yes. Plenty of business. We are going to see to Mr Zann's needs. I want you to prepare the 'Just Another Customer' and your special killers, we're going to go pay Mr Vaas a visit, through his henchmen first."

Alright. Now if I buy the company upgrade, that means I get more units with training?

Let's use an example. It always helps. I'll go with a simple type of unit just to save on the maths :p

We have 2 units.

1 Generic. 1 Skilled.

Both have the same skillset.

Basic Blasters
Special Weapons
Personal Armour.

A unit of 10 (Standard Unit) would be 20 Points for the Generic troops, or 40 for the Skilled Troops.

We then apply a Platoon or Company modifier.

Generic Platoon : 80 Points for 45 men. (5 more than the same cost in basic units)
Skilled Platoon: 160 Points for 45 men. (as above)

Generic Company: 240 Points for 180 men. (4 Platoons) If you spend it on 12 Generic 10 man units you'd only have 120 men.
Skilled Company: 480 Points for 180 men. (As above basically)

EDIT:

The downside with Platoon or Company sized units is they have to be used as Platoon or Company sized units, you can't sub-divide them, they're trained to operate in those groups.
Brovo: Reading LoR 2's ic.
Brovo: Pass this along to the OOC if you could for me.
Brovo: After reading the ic I figured I should let everyone know through an all too classic trope.
Brovo: Tonight, someone dies!
Brovo: :D
Brovo: The blood gods shall be satiated!
Brovo: BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GODS, SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!
Brucey - South-West Sector

Bruce flicked over the song as he continued the sweeping retreat. "Fall back. Churchy, follow sensible orders next time," Bruce barked. Gone was the joviality and even sometime madness that seemed to be everpresent with the Aussie. Now he'd gone back to cold crisp and clear tone all to familiar to anyone with military service, "We'll discuss it later." Bruce said as he kept up his sweeping fire pattern as he began to advance rearwards more quickly, working to keep from favouring the damaged leg, the limping-lurching motion annoying as he watched the rear sensors for any obstacles.

Bruce watched the tank rounds come out of the fog and hit and clicked his mic in morse code.
