Fleeting Memories School - Entrance Gate

Rayla: Thanks...and don't worry. I'm not planning to dodge any of those questions. You did the right thing in telling Veronica to step down. I am certainly going to tell everyone what happened, without missing any details. I promise.

Fleeting Memories School - Corridor

Andorina: Thanks a lot Lilina. I'll make sure to deliver this message to her. I'm sure she'll appreciate it.

She bows to Lilina in gratitude, then heads towards her classroom.

Fleeting Memories School - Entrance Gate

Mana: Hihihi! Well, this is where I take my leave.

Rayla: By the way, how old are you again Mana?

Mana: Hm? I'm 16.

Rayla: And you're allowed to work at the guild?

Mana: That's right, they accept anyone who is strong enough. I've been under their wing for quite a while now. Only recently that I've started actually patroling the city.

Rayla: So I assume someone over there gives you private lessons.

Mana: That's right. I never went to school once. No need to worry, they treat me very well at the guild. They are pretty much family to me.

Rayla: That's good to hear. Well then, keep doing a good job.

Mana: Sure!

Mana left the place, continuing with her patrol. Rayla looked at Auror with a weak smile.

Rayla: Well...I'm here now. Since it's raining, we won't be able to use the rooftop anymore. Do you know a better place to gather everyone?

Fleeting Memories School - Corridor

Andorina: No bother at all. We've just finished talking actually.

Reeta: (Reflex or not..It was still embarassing...But it's okay.)

Meanwhile, Tiane already had separated from the group and heading towards her classroom. Miolina spotted her and decided to say hi.

Miolina: TATIANNA! My friend! You've actually decided to come a second time.

Tiane: So you actually remember this forgetful face, Miss "Curiosity".

Miolina: I know...Grade Repetition and all...Anyway, I've got some juicy information for you today my friend.

Tiane: Keep it to yourself.

Miolina: Now now...I promise that it is of your interest. You see, yesterday after Rayla left the school, she had this epic duel against that private detective.

Tiane: They had a fight?

Miolina: (I knew that would grab her attention.) They did, and she got her ass kicked.

Tiane: No way...that a lie! Rayla would never lose to anyone.

Miolina: Oh, but she did. The news spreaded like wildfire in the underworld. The Shihana Clan took this opportunity and decided to kick her while she's down...but since cornered foxes are rather dangerous, she managed to survive.

Tiane: (No wonder she said that I wasn't going to like what I was going to hear...)

Miolina: My sources never lie...I have no reasons to lie. I spread information because I want to see some heavy movement in this city.

Tiane: Rayla...how could you lose...

Miolina: Guess your rival isn't so perfect and mighty after all.

Tiane: T-There must be some kind of mistake...

Miolina: There is none. Heck, she's still injured from that fight, so I'm sure even you can win against her right now...Or maybe even more!

Tiane: You shut your mouth right now before I do it for you!

Miolina: Okay! Just showing you the opportunities.

Tiane: (Dammit...Rayla...How could you lose?)
Fleeting Memories School - Entrance Gate

Andorina: Okay.

Tiane: Good...Keep him right there...*gets pulled by Ted*

Ted: I know he's obnoxious, but try to hold yourself back.

Tiane: Stop pulling me!

Reeta: I-It's sweet that you're worrying about me Lucent...But warn me first before holding my hand.

She didn't want to say it out loud, but she was embarassed by having to hold hands with Lucent all of a sudden. The others succesfully got inside the school building.

Ted: Alright girls, head quickly to your classrooms before he gets here again.

Tiane: By all means, let him come...I'll dare to flirt with me again.
Ted: I'm sure Rayla would be absolutely thrilled to see such a scene...she would probably join in as well.

Tiane: Urgh...Oh well...

Andorina: I can't wait to see his face when I tell him I actually have a boyfriend.

Ted: Oh yeah, you told me about him once. Where is he anyway?

Andorina: His father suffered a car accident during first week of spring and he's watching over him. Every weekend I go to the hospital to deliver the school notes.

Ted: What about his mother?

Andorina: Sadly, his parents are divorced.

Ted: I see...

Andorina: In any case, I'm sure both of you will get along well. My little sweetheart is a fun person to be around.

Ted: I'll trust your judgement, since he managed to charm you and all.

Andorina heads towards her classroom. Ted decides to wait for Rayla.

Spring Zone - Streets

Rayla: Good sign? More than you can imagine.

Mana: Hm?

Rayla: Man! The wind right feels extra chilly right now.

Mana: Is it a problem?

Rayla: Not at all. I love feeling the wind while playing some tunes with my guitar when evening is approaching. Lately though, I've been playing nothing but the Hymm of Proof...I just unconciously play it no matter the mood I am.

Mana: Hymm of Proof?

Rayla: Yeah, my mother learned it from a friend of hers. According to her, it's an old family tune, a real blast from the past. It's supposed to be about longing to see someone...She got it right on that part...it's a soothing, yet melancholic tone.

Mana: Do you have any idea why are you playing it that often?

Rayla: I have a guess...The 2nd anniversary of her passing is approaching...Maybe, deep down, I still haven't completely accepted it...

Mana: I see...I know what you mean...

Rayla: Really?

Mana: Yeah...But I don't like talking about it too much.

Rayla: If you say so, I won't insist. Let's keep going, I can almost see the school.
Fleeting Memories School - Entrance Gate

Andorina: Great! I'll make sure to let her know that we're coming.

Reeta: With that settled, let's head in.

Tiane: I don't know...the rain feels so fresh right now, we can stay here a bit longer.

Ted: And there it is, the Tatianna I know.

Tiane: I said to shove it Good Kid!

Spring Zone - Streets

Mana: Outcome?

Rayla: That reminds me...Did you actually win your duel against Melanie?
Spring Zone - Streets

Rayla: Morning you two! I'm doing okay.

Mana: Your friends from school?

Rayla: That's right. They are Xaizor, Marina and...Um... (I don't remember there being a third one.)

Mana: Ah! It's Miss Sayaka Maizono. It seems she's all comfortable in going to school now.

Rayla: Hm?

Mana: You don't know? She was attacked by the mysterious group as well.

Rayla: I may have heard the news but didn't pay much attention at the time. Seeing that I wasn't there to help, who was the one that ultimately saved her?

Mana: I don't know who it was...While that person did managed to stop the attack, the terrorists ended up dead as a result, denying us any possible information that we might've took out of them.

Rayla: That sucks... (Killing the terrorists huh? It better not be who I think it is...)

Rayla: Well, nice to meet you Sayaka. You probably know me by word of mouth, but I'm Rayla Celest Lilly.

Fleeting Memories School - Entrance Gate

Ted: Oh wow! Hi guys!

Reeta: Hey there!

Tiane: Hello...

Ted: Another wow! You here at school again.

Tiane: Shut it Mr. Good Kid!

Andorina: Still, I'm glad she's here too. I just got confirmation that we can visit Kaori's home today. So I want to extend the invitation to all of you.

Reeta: That's nice at all...but, won't there be too many people?

Andorina: My classmates are either busy or don't want to confront the rain...So you guys all that's left.

Ted: You know I already want to be there.

Tiane: Might as well go.

Reeta: I'm thinking about it.

Andorina: Good...What about you Ray...

Andorina: Huh? She's not here.

Ted: That's right. Where is she?

Tiane: Don't worry about it. She did confirm that she was coming. Maybe the place where her friend is might be a bit far away.

Ted: I see...In that case, it can't be helped.
Fleeting Memories School - Entrance Gate

Ted: Little late for that. I'm already at school. Besides, I usually take buses so I'm not that drenched. Thanks for the offer anyway.

Andorina: Hey Ted!

Ted: Oh! Andorina just got here as well. See ya later Auror.

Spring Zone - Streets

Suzaku: Back at home! Kinda!

Rayla: Say...should we split from here? You have your job and all of that...

Suzaku: No no no no no Missy! I'm taking you all the way to the school. Also, are you willing to go from here to your school under the rain? I can't allow you to catch a cold either.

Rayla: Well...If you insist...

Mana: Ah! There you are.

Suzaku: Hm?

Rayla: Is it with us?

Mana: Yep! The guild told the patrollers to be on the lookout for you.

Rayla: And you are?

Mana: I'm Mana Lindis. We've met before once, but we didn't talk much.

Rayla: I see...Well then Miss Suzaku, guess I'm in good hands now.

Suzaku: If its someone from the guild, then I'm sure that you are the good hands. I'm counting on you Miss Lindis, this is a very important mission and failure is not an option.

Mana: Understood! Leave it to me.

Rayla: Heh... (She always find a way to be a dork.)

Rayla goes under Mana's umbrella while Suzaku heads towards the hospital.

Rayla: So...Linds, right?

Mana: You can just call me Mana.

Rayla: Right...So, was the guild too busy to send reinforcements to the Mansion or something?

Mana: Sorry about that...It's less like busy and more like unable.

Rayla: Why is that?

Mana: According to Lady Nancy, the guild was attacked by someone called Gunvolt.

Music: Beginning of a Long Night

Rayla: Who again?

Mana: She said that he is a human rights group called QUILL. He's notorious for fighting against a group called Sumeragi.

While the name Gunvolt was unknown to Rayla, Sumeragi did ring a bit of a bell. They are a group as old as the Ancestor Families, being observers of the evolution of living beings throught the passing eras.

Rayla: They most likely have a story between each other...So, what did he do?

Mana: He managed to hack the security system and turn off the eletricity of the building for a couple of minutes, cutting off any communications.

Rayla: (He doesn't seem like a pushover, that's for sure.)

Mana: He had a conversation with Nancy...Mostly concerning the mysterious group and their possible relation with the Sumeragi Group.

Rayla: (Wait a second...) AHA!

Mana: W-What?

Rayla: I know the reason behind his visit! Since the mysterious group is after psychic users to test out the Compact Glaive Device, and the fact that the Sumeragi Group is known for being researchers, I'm imagining that they are trading informations...

Mana: Information and researches about Psychic Users.

Rayla: That's right! Well, this Gunvolt person might turn to be a valuable ally. We need to meet him once more.

Mana: I hope so...she did offer him to come back to the guild so that Doc-

Rayla: Huh?

Mana: N-Nothing...Sorry, but I can't say it out loud.

Rayla: (I assume it has something to do with that promise.) It's okay. I'll just have to see it by myself after school ends.

Mana: Wait...you're taking up her offer?

Rayla: That's right.

Mana: That's great! I'm sure Lady Nancy be just as happy.

Rayla: (Still...Sumeragi Group huh? Things are getting interesting, I might have to ask Ted do some more research about them.)
Glory Star Orphanage

Reeta: Whoa!!! Woah!Woah!Woah!Woah!Woah!

Tiane: Well...I certainly wasn't really expecting a limo to come and get us.

Reeta: This is so cool!

Tiane: I mean...It looks fancy...

Reeta: I thought you would be more excited for this.

Tiane: Well...I mean, it's a limousine. I'm more speechless than enthusiastic. Should we really be going in there?

Reeta: They are offering, so why not? Let's go already!

Tiane: If I must...

Reeta enters before Tiane. She was impressed by how "it looked bigger on the inside" while Tiane felt overwhelmed instead.

Fleeting Memories School - Entrance Gate

As Ted dropped from the bus, his cellphone started to ring.

Ted: (Hm? Auror? Now that's a rare number to call me.)

He answers the phone.

Ted: Hi Auror! Morning.

Kaori's Home - Living Room

When she got back from the kitchen, Jerry was at the corridor watching the exit of the house.

Jerry: Hello again.

Kaori: H-Hi...

Suddenly, her phone starts ringing. She picks it up.

Kaori: (Andorina...It's probably about the friends she's bringing over.) Hello.

Andorina: Morning Kaori! How are you doing today? With this rain, I imagine you're doing great.

Kaori: Well...I've managed to leave my room on my own...So I guess that's something.

Andorina: That's so good to hear! This means you are able to receive visits now, right?

Kaori: Are you sure? I mean, it's raining...and some people don't really like it.

Andorina: It's no issue. We can fight any rain.

Kaori: If you say so...then whenever you're ready.

Andorina: GREAT! Today it is! Bye!

The phone call ends. Kaori sits on the sofa and looks at Jerry.

Kaori: Mr. Jerry?

Jerry: Hm? What is it?

Kaori: A friend of mine is bringing some people to visit me...Are they allowed to enter?

Jerry: Well, the police is going to do some searcing on them, but don't worry, they can come here.

Kaori: Great!

Jerry: (If anything, this visit is going to lift her spirits for sure.) Well, I'll keep doing my best to keep watch over you.

Kaori: Thank you very much.
Kaori's Home - Kitchen

Kaori was eating breakfast at her own pace. Trying to enjoy the sound of the rain as much as possible. However, she felt an odd sensation, as if she was detecting the presence of something.

Kaori: (It's coming from outside.)

She felt that she was being called to it. She looked through the window and saw the shadowy silhouette of a woman in the distance.

Kaori: (That's the one who is calling me?)

But then, the shadow dissapeared when Kaori blinked, any traces of its existence gone, only leaving behind a messeage for Kaori.

Kaori: "You need to overcome your fears." My...fears? Does it mean...My trauma?

Spring Zone - Streets

Hiagor was heading back towards his office, going at a fast face because of the rain. All of a sudden, he bumped into something. He quickly turned around to apologize. What he saw was a shadow figure that dissolved into nothingness.

Hiagor: (Did I just hear a voice from it?) "Keep searching for the city's dark secret."

Hiagor: (Well...That's my intention from the beginning...But thanks for the encouragement.)

Glory Star Orphanage - Tatianna's Room

Tatianna was packing her school bag. Even though she was only going to answer the question instead of paying attention to class, she wanted to experiment the tracking field mode. When she turned around, she saw a shadow figure aparently looking at her.

Tiane: WAH! W-What are you?

The figure smiled before dissapearing, leaving Tatianna with some words.

Tiane: "Do not be afraid of your losses." The hell does that mean?

Seimei Family Mansion - Corridors

Ted was ready to head towards school. When he left the building, he saw the shadow figure from afar.

Ted: (Is that...a person? What is it doing without an umbrella.) H-Hey! Wait a moment.

He crossed the road, trying to reach the figure, even trying to see if it had an aura he could sense, which it did, it is as if said aura was calling for him. However, when he managed to reach the figure, it dissapeared, leaving only words behind.

Ted: "Do not be afraid to use your strenght if its for the just cause." (Wait...so it knows that I'm conflicted about wanting to help the city?)

Summer Area - Near The Beach

Rayla also felt the aura of the shadow figure calling for her. She looked towards the beach and saw the dark silhouette of a woman on the water. Rayla stopped to look at it, but suddenly, one of the waves engulfed the figure.

Suzaku: Eh? Hey Rayla! Don't suddenly stop like that. Do you want to be soaked? Because that's how you get soaked.

Rayla: S-Sorry...I thought I saw something...it even talked to me.

Suzaku: Something?

Rayla: "You who wishes the salvation of this city, heed my voice and come to me..." That's what it said. She was so far away, but it felt like so close at the same time.

Suzaku: Maybe you didn't sleep that well.

Rayla: (No...I'm pretty sure it happened...But I better not insist on the issue that much. Suzaku cleary didn't hear it.) Maybe you're right...let's keep going.
Kaori's Home - Living Room

Music: Serene Weather

???: Hm? Hey there Kaori, good morning.

Kaori: ...Morning...

???: You seem better today.

Kaori: Maybe...

???: I'm not really a fan of rains, so I hope you don't mind me being here.

Kaori: Don't worry about it...

???: By the way, my name is...

Jerald: But you can call me Jerry.

Kaori: Nice to meet you...

Jerry: Same here!

Kaori: ...

Jerry: ...

The was a rather discomforting silence between them. Even though Kaori was comfortable with people again, she couldn't keep up a conversation without a heavy sigh.

Jerry: So...your mom made some hot chocolate for me and the cops as well. It was really good. Maybe there's still some remaining.

Kaori: I'll go see.

She headed towards the kitchen, hoping to get some hot chocolate for herself.

Glory Star Orphanage - Front Yard

Amara: I see that you still like to play in the rain.

Tiane: This is not playing...It's my morning exercise.

Amara: The ground might be a bit muddy, so watch your step.

Tiane: Seriously, I know what I'm doi-

But then, she ended up sliping in the mud, losing her balance and hitting her face on the ground.

Tiane: OOF!!! (At least this is less painful than a wall...)

Moments later, she was back inside the building, drying herself with a towel and cleaning the dirt off her face.

Amara: I warned you.

Tiane: Yes you did...*spits some dirt*

Summer Area - Farenheit's Mansion Entrance Gate

Hiagor: This gate has seen better days.

Mr.F: Hello there Hiagor. I'm sure you know about the attack by now.

Hiagor: I got some deserved scolding for it. I promise it won't happen again.

Mr.F: You don't need to promise that. We had to move Rayla to the Ryoukan Tsurugiya Inn after the attack.

Hiagor: Ah! Madam Kashiwagi's place. Isn't that where the Majima Construction workers are residing at the moment?

Mr.F: That's right. We were assured that they won't cause any trouble. Are you heading there now?

Hiagor: Not really...I just came running because I was worried about your well being.

Mr.F: And as you can see, I'm fine. They didn't lay a finger on me. Although they did some thrashing on my mansion when they came back for more.

Hiagor: Good to know...Well then, I'm going.

Mr.F: Are you sure that you don't want to see her?

Hiagor: I want her decision be surprise, so I won't go meet her right now.

Mr.F: Suit yourself.

Summer Area - Ryoukan Tsurugiya Inn

After getting permission to cook her lunch for later, Rayla met Suzaku near the exit of the inn.

Suzaku: Morning Rayla!

Rayla: Good Morning.

Suzaku: So, are we heading back to Spring Zone right now or do you want to eat first?

Rayla: Well...I want to be with the others as soon as possible...So let's head back now.

Chizuru: You're leaving already?

Suzaku: Sadly, yes. But don't worry, I enjoyed this place a lot. Maybe I'll bring in my brother and some friends next time.

Chizuru: That's good to hear. You're free to come back any time. I'll be looking foward to it.

Suzaku: Alrighty then, under the umbrella Rayla, we have a storm ahead.

Rayla: This rain doesn't look so strong.

Shihana Clan Headquarters - Meeting Room

Music: An Uncertain Destination

Pairah: ...

Ling: ...
Chairman: Now then...I believe you know why I've called you two here today.

Pairah: ...Yes...
Chairman: I send you on a task as easy as taking candy from a baby...But you ended up still failing.

Ling: I have no excuses...
Chairman: You really shouldn't...Do you know how expensive it was paying for your assassin rear? I thought you were good at what you did...but all I got was a failure...a joke!

Pairah: But...She got outside help...
Chairman: After you took your dear time trying to kill her. That's not excuse for the failure that you are.

Pairah: Please...give me another chance! I'm sure that we can still do the job.
Chairman: You? A chance?

Pairah was grabbed by the face.

Chairman: Trash doesn't get second chances.

Then, she gets thrown out of the window, falling from a two store building.

Ling: I await for my punishment as well.
Chairman: You seem to know your place at least...As a reward, you'll just get this!

However, before the Chairman could punish Ling, the Chairman received a phone call.

Chairman: What is it? Oh, is it that time already? Very well...

Ling: ???
Chairman: This will have to wait. While you're at it, go help clean what remained of the other one.

Ling: Understood.
Music: Nothing Can Be Explained

Tatianna Side

Tiane groggly woke up, not wanting to be awakened like before, but when she remembered that Rayla wasn't there, she was already standing up.

Tiane: Urgh...

She heads towards the window, seeing the rain outside.

Tiane: Sweet! I was starting to think we weren't going to have one of these until late autumn.

Tiane: This is where I get more fired up for my morning exercises. Let's go!

Tatianna heads outside, but still having Rayla on her mind.

Tiane: (She said that I wasn't going to like the explanation...I'm still not sure what she meant by that.)

Ted's Side

Ted: Huh?

He saw himself waking up on his own. A rare ocurrence. He was also not feeling that much insomnia.

Ted: (Does this means...Cousin Hina...)

He hushed out his own, almost running into Himika.

Himika: Huh? Brother?

Ted: Hi there sis! Guess what!

Himika: You...woke up on your own.

Ted: That's right...Does this mean that Cousin Hina...

Himika: That can't be...There wasn't confirmation that she was done with her trainning. Although...this could mean that she finally learned how to get the spirits attention towards only herself.

Ted: That's great! I'm so proud of her.

Himika: Although, this is probably a one-off thing. Her trainning isn't quite complete yet, so the next day, you'll probably be bothered by spirits again.

Ted: You have a point...but still.

Himika: Yep! We know that she's doing great.

Himika: But I still have a lot work to do to keep her safe.

Ted: Heh...Will you at least eat breakfast with us?

Himika: Sadly, no...Well then...see you at night.

Ted: Do your best.

Hiagor's Side

Unlike other people, Hiagor didn't have a reason to woke up early. Yet, he was rudely woken up by the sound of a police horn. When he opened the door to see who it was, he was greeted by the angry stare of Police Office Johnson.

Johnson: You sure took your time.

Hiagor: Sue me, I'm a freelancer.

Johnson: Well then Mr.Freelancer, you better explain yourself why you injured Miss Rayla. The news of her defeat caused quite an uproar.

Hiagor: I just wanted help to stimulate her fire of revolution...That's all.

Johnson: The hell is that supposed to mean? It's your fault that Mr.F's mansion was attacked yesterday.

Hiagor: I mean...I didn't knew she was going to lose our fight...When I think about it, I should've brought her to a more private spot.

Johnson: This is your last warning Marlek...Keep doing what you're doing and we'll place you under house arrest.

Hiagor: That doesn't sound so bad...My food won't come out of my pocket and I get to sleep as much as I want...It will be a nice little vacation.

Johnson: You're making light of the situation, we could send you to the Maximum Security Prison because of your status as a Chi Master.

Hiagor: And what makes you think those threats of yours are going to stop me? If it means saving the city, I don't care if my life is at risk.

Johnson: What you did right now didn't just risk your life...I admit that you have noble goals, but don't involve innocents into your crusade. Look...just don't get yourself and someone else killed okay?

With those words, Johnson entered the car and left Hiagor by himself.

Hiagor: Guess I really misjudged you Mr.Johnson...You seem to be a bit different from the others. Maybe I should follow part of his advice...If I let myself being too destructive, there won't be more of a city to talk about.

Rayla's Side

Rayla wakes up and notices there's no one in the room. She could also hear the muffed sound of rain. The girl gets up without much difficulties, still feeling sore, but since she had rested for an entire night instead of an hour, she was feeling way better.

Rayla: Guess it's safe to head back home in my current condition.

She left the room. On her way towards the kitchen to prepare her lunch box, she started to think about what she was going to do in the next hours.

Rayla: (The priority right now is to go to school to tell everyone that I'm fine...Next, I'm heading towards the Guild to give my answer to Nancy. Then, I'm going over to the Autumn Quarters to talk with Majima and give him the fight he wants. And lastly...)

"Announce that I'm leaving the orphanage..."

Kaori Side

The girl woke up early and was staring at the rain outside.

Kaori: ...

Kaori felt relaxed with the sound of falling rain. She was really holding the urge to go outside and play under it and forget her worries, but said worries kept her from going outside.

Kaori: Sigh...Maybe they wouldn't want to come under the rain...not many people likes it...

Then, she kept staring at the window, trying to enjoy the feeling while she could.
