She watched the ten of them from the lake. This day was the one of their meeting. She decided to finally let signs of herself to see if they would come.

After going with Kaito at Kiragi's room, the boy happily greeted his two big brothers. With a smile they all walked together. As they were walking, however, Lucent saw something passing by them, feeling a powerful aura right next to him.


Lucent: !!!

He looked back as nothing was even there. However, he saw something. It was a shadow of a woman, passing by him, going in another direction. He could feel her calling him.


Kaito: Lucent, what's wrong?

Lucent: N-No, I just thought... I saw something...

Kiragi: Big Bro Lucent, are you OK?

Lucent: I am, I am, don't worry. Let's go, we'll have breakfast soon enough.

They continued on their way, going towards the dining hall. However, Lucent's thoughts swirled around what the mysterious shadow had spoken.


Lucent: ... Heed my voice...

Location: Spring Zone Streets

Inside the car, Veronica and Auror were usually chatting about something in the school. The car stopped since the red signal was on. As they stood there, Auror looked at the window and saw a black silhouette aiming at them.


Auror: Huh?!

However, once the car began to move again, the image disappeared. It was most certainly a woman. Auror gave his head a shake and blinked twice.


Veronica: Big Bro, what's wrong?

Auror: Nothing, it's just... I think I saw something... or someone.

Veronica: Is it familiar to us?

Auror: Not in the least. It was the shadow of a woman and... weirdly enough, it spoke to me.

Veronica: And what did it say?

Auror: Ones with the wish to defend this city...

In another place, Lilina and Masaru were walking towards the school together. Lilina was also a victim to this phenomenom. She saw a strange silhouette in the roof of a house. Once she blinked, the image vanished, not leaving a trace.


Masaru: Lilina? Is... something the matter?

Lilina: Masaru, am I wrong or did I just see a woman in the roof?

Masaru: A woman? But there's nothing there.

Lilina: I'm sure I saw a silhouette of a woman in that roof. It wasn't just that... I heard something as well...

Masaru: Something...?

Lilina: You, who lives in fear of losing what is precious to you...

Location: Spring Zone - Hakurei Shrine

Meanwhile, Xaizor and Marina were descending the stairway of the shrine. In the middle of the descent, an image appeared. It looked like a woman, perhaps? It was standing at the right edge of the cliff until it fell.


Marina: No!!

Xaizor: H-Hey, don't do it!!

However, once they reached the edge, nothing was there. It's as if no one was in that spot at the beginning.


Marina: Was that... an apparition from the dead?!

Xaizor: I don't know... but... what was that? Was it a woman? And it just said...

Marina: Time runs short for this town...

Xaizor: So please, heed my voice and come to me.

This didn't made any sense. Before anything, they needed to go to school. They kept descending the stairs, as the voice haunted not only the two brothers, but the other chosen as well.

Kaori's Home - Kitchen

Kaori was eating breakfast at her own pace. Trying to enjoy the sound of the rain as much as possible. However, she felt an odd sensation, as if she was detecting the presence of something.


Kaori: (It's coming from outside.)

She felt that she was being called to it. She looked through the window and saw the shadowy silhouette of a woman in the distance.


Kaori: (That's the one who is calling me?)

But then, the shadow dissapeared when Kaori blinked, any traces of its existence gone, only leaving behind a messeage for Kaori.


Kaori: "You need to overcome your fears." My...fears? Does it mean...My trauma?

Spring Zone - Streets

Hiagor was heading back towards his office, going at a fast face because of the rain. All of a sudden, he bumped into something. He quickly turned around to apologize. What he saw was a shadow figure that dissolved into nothingness.


Hiagor: (Did I just hear a voice from it?) "Keep searching for the city's dark secret."

Hiagor: (Well...That's my intention from the beginning...But thanks for the encouragement.)

Glory Star Orphanage - Tatianna's Room

Tatianna was packing her school bag. Even though she was only going to answer the question instead of paying attention to class, she wanted to experiment the tracking field mode. When she turned around, she saw a shadow figure aparently looking at her.


Tiane: WAH! W-What are you?

The figure smiled before dissapearing, leaving Tatianna with some words.


Tiane: "Do not be afraid of your losses." The hell does that mean?

Seimei Family Mansion - Corridors

Ted was ready to head towards school. When he left the building, he saw the shadow figure from afar.


Ted: (Is that...a person? What is it doing without an umbrella.) H-Hey! Wait a moment.

He crossed the road, trying to reach the figure, even trying to see if it had an aura he could sense, which it did, it is as if said aura was calling for him. However, when he managed to reach the figure, it dissapeared, leaving only words behind.


Ted: "Do not be afraid to use your strenght if its for the just cause." (Wait...so it knows that I'm conflicted about wanting to help the city?)

Summer Area - Near The Beach

Rayla also felt the aura of the shadow figure calling for her. She looked towards the beach and saw the dark silhouette of a woman on the water. Rayla stopped to look at it, but suddenly, one of the waves engulfed the figure.


Suzaku: Eh? Hey Rayla! Don't suddenly stop like that. Do you want to be soaked? Because that's how you get soaked.

Rayla: S-Sorry...I thought I saw something...it even talked to me.

Suzaku: Something?

Rayla: "You who wishes the salvation of this city, heed my voice and come to me..." That's what it said. She was so far away, but it felt like so close at the same time.

Suzaku: Maybe you didn't sleep that well.

Rayla: (No...I'm pretty sure it happened...But I better not insist on the issue that much. Suzaku cleary didn't hear it.) Maybe you're right...let's keep going.

After eating breakfast with Kiragi, both Lucent and Kaito grabbed their bagpacks and left for the entrance. Once they reached it, a limousine awaited there for them. As the door opened, Auror and Veronica were revealed.


Auror: Yo. How's the rain been treating you?

Lucent: Auror and Veronica...?

Auror: We thought about giving you guys a ride, that's why we're here. Anyway, get in and let's wait for Rayla, Tiane, Reeta and Maki to come.

Kaito: Well, you can erase two from the list. Rayla hasn't returned since yesterday and Maki... well, she already went off early.

Veronica: Miss Rayla hasn't come back?! Oh no, this isn't good!

Auror: Calm down, this is Rayla we're talking about. Nothing bad must have happened. Besides, if something troublesome did happen, she wouldn't just let herself go down that easily.

Veronica: But even if that's true, we shouldn't abandon her like this!

Kaito: I'd like to search for her too, but it's best if we hope for her to return for now. There's nothing much we can do in this situation.

Lucent: (Rayla... I have yet to thank you for what you said yesterday...)

Auror: Come on in, let's wait for the rest.

Taking his invitation, Lucent and Kaito went in the car while they awaited the others to arrive. In the meanwhile, Auror did a call.

Lilina and Masaru arrived first at the gate, which was already open. They were very early but this is an exception made for rainy days.


Lilina: Gladly, the school has this exception of letting us enter earlier if it is raining.

Masaru: I'm glad as well. We would've soaked if this wasn't the case.

Lilina: True. I'm sure everyone is inside already-
Drake: Lilina!

Her fellow classmate ran towards her. He got some breath before looking at her once again.


Drake: Holy shit, it's you for reals! Where have you been all this time?!

Lilina: Drake? And yes, I was recovering from an... experience.

Drake: So you were targeted as well...

Lilina: I'm fine now, don't worry. I have already recovered a little, so it's alright.

Drake: That's good to hear. You don't know how Bloo has been bothering me because of you.

He answers the phone.

When she got back from the kitchen, Jerry was at the corridor watching the exit of the house.


Jerry: Hello again.

Kaori: H-Hi...

Suddenly, her phone starts ringing. She picks it up.


Kaori: (Andorina...It's probably about the friends she's bringing over.) Hello.

Andorina: Morning Kaori! How are you doing today? With this rain, I imagine you're doing great.

Kaori: Well...I've managed to leave my room on my own...So I guess that's something.

Andorina: That's so good to hear! This means you are able to receive visits now, right?

Kaori: Are you sure? I mean, it's raining...and some people don't really like it.

Andorina: It's no issue. We can fight any rain.

Kaori: If you say so...then whenever you're ready.

Andorina: GREAT! Today it is! Bye!

The phone call ends. Kaori sits on the sofa and looks at Jerry.


Kaori: Mr. Jerry?

Jerry: Hm? What is it?

Kaori: A friend of mine is bringing some people to visit me...Are they allowed to enter?

Jerry: Well, the police is going to do some searcing on them, but don't worry, they can come here.

Kaori: Great!

Jerry: (If anything, this visit is going to lift her spirits for sure.) Well, I'll keep doing my best to keep watch over you.

After they were settled inside the car, it departed from the orphanage and began heading to school.


Veronica: I'd actually love to come by and fetch everyone so we can always go to school together, but I guess I'd be overstepping the boundaries, wouldn't I?

Kaito: It's kinda weird, to be honest. It's not like I'm complaining or I'm against it, but it'd become rather strange for this to keep on a daily basis.

Veronica: Aww... well, at least we can have lunch together!

Kaito: You really like to keep everyone around, don't you Veronica?

Veronica: I do, yes sir! After all, the more friends you have, the funnier things are! That's why I try to be friendly with everyone.

Lucent: That... seems rather nice.

Kaito: Sure does. Goes to show why Vivi's so popular on school. She's like those team mascots.

Lucent: Hehe... I would like a plushie of Veronica... it looks rather cute...

Without any intentions, Lucent complimented Veronica. Once he noticed his comment, however, he blushed and looked down immediately to hide his face.


Lucent: *blushes* Ah, I said... something embarassing...

Veronica: Mister Lucent, you called me cute... but you're rather cute yourself! I wanna hug you!

While they were being noisy on their own, Auror kept talking with Ted on the phone.

Xaizor and Marina kept walking, shielded by the bubble so the rain wouldn't soak them. As they kept walking, they eventually barged upon a girl.


???: Ah, forgive me!

Marina: No, forgive us. We were not looking towards our way.

???: I... I see. Well then, if you excuse me...

Xaizor: Hey, hold up a moment!

Xaizor tried to stop the girl by holding her wrist, but she gave him a shriek once she felt him touching her.


???: Eeeeek!!

Xaizor: Whoa, whoa, settle down, please! I just wanted to ask if you're going towards the school!

???: P-Please, don't touch me!

Marina: Xaizor, stop it! She is not someone you can just pull!

Xaizor: OK, OK, I got it. Sorry, miss.

Marina: I am deeply sorry for this. Is there something we can do for you so this can be forgiven?

Upon hearing her request, the girl thought about it and decided to offer if she could go with them.

Suzaku: No no no no no Missy! I'm taking you all the way to the school. Also, are you willing to go from here to your school under the rain? I can't allow you to catch a cold either.

Mana: Ah! There you are.

Suzaku: Hm?

Rayla: Is it with us?

Mana: Yep! The guild told the patrollers to be on the lookout for you.

Mana: She said that he is a human rights group called QUILL. He's notorious for fighting against a group called Sumeragi.

While the name Gunvolt was unknown to Rayla, Sumeragi did ring a bit of a bell. They are a group as old as the Ancestor Families, being observers of the evolution of living beings throught the passing eras.


Rayla: They most likely have a story between each other...So, what did he do?

Mana: He managed to hack the security system and turn off the eletricity of the building for a couple of minutes, cutting off any communications.

Rayla: (He doesn't seem like a pushover, that's for sure.)

Mana: He had a conversation with Nancy...Mostly concerning the mysterious group and their possible relation with the Sumeragi Group.

Rayla: (Wait a second...) AHA!

Mana: W-What?

Rayla: I know the reason behind his visit! Since the mysterious group is after psychic users to test out the Compact Glaive Device, and the fact that the Sumeragi Group is known for being researchers, I'm imagining that they are trading informations...

Mana: Information and researches about Psychic Users.

Rayla: That's right! Well, this Gunvolt person might turn to be a valuable ally. We need to meet him once more.

Mana: I hope so...she did offer him to come back to the guild so that Doc-

The trio walked towards the school. Since Marina and Xaizor lived near at one of Spring Zone's borders, going to school would take some time, especially with the rain.


Sayaka: So you two are transfer students?

Xaizor: Yep. We arrived here two days ago.

Sayaka: How nice. It's sad that our town has no conditions to offer you a good welcome...

Marina: We have been managing ourselves for now. I do not know how the next days will be, though.

Xaizor: I'm sure it'll be just fine. It'll take more than thugs to actually shake me off!

Sayaka: If only thugs were the problem...

Marina: Do you mean the terrorist attack? What exactly happened?

Sayaka: It was horrible... I don't know why, but they suddenly appeared and started to attack the town and kidnap people...

Xaizor: Like... for no reason whatsoever?

Sayaka: I don't know. They were going against so many people, including... myself.

Xaizor: It explains why you freaked out earlier and why you're actually scared of walking alone.

Sayaka: They came out of nowhere and started to drag me with them. I tried to fight back but one of them took out a knife and tried to stab me. I screamed and called for help...

Marina: But the police came and saved you, right?

Sayaka: If I depended on the police, I wasn't here anymore. But someone else saved me.

Xaizor: And who it was?

Sayaka: It was Auror, brother of a dear friend of mine.

Sayaka: I couldn't see much of the fight because I passed out, but I'm sure I saw Auror fighting against them. When he arrived, I finally felt a little of relief. He was a true hero for me. I want to thank him so much for what he did to me...

While they walked, eventually Rayla and Mana reached their sight. Xaizor and Marina were the first to talk with her.

Soon, the car stopped moving. Auror opened his window, looked at Ted and Andorina and waved while smiling.


Auror: I can see you two from my window. What gives? *turns the call off*

Veronica: And here we are! Now, for another exciting day of school!

They started boarding off while opening umbrellas. Auror shared his with Veronica while Kaito and Lucent had a single umbrella for each.

Mana: Your friends from school?

Rayla: That's right. They are Xaizor, Marina and...Um... (I don't remember there being a third one.)

Mana: Ah! It's Miss Sayaka Maizono. It seems she's all comfortable in going to school now.

Mana: You don't know? She was attacked by the mysterious group as well.

Rayla: I may have heard the news but didn't pay much attention at the time. Seeing that I wasn't there to help, who was the one that ultimately saved her?

Xaizor: You bet she did. Marina won without breaking a sweat.

Marina: I-It was not that easy! Melanie made me use what I have never wished to!

Sayaka: Umm... what exactly happened?

Xaizor: Oh right! You see, Sayaka, my little sister here defeated Melanie in a 1v1 so flawlessly that it rendered a nice view to end the day.

Marina: Xaizor, stop it!

Sayaka: Really?! Oh, those are good news indeed! No one in the school likes Melanie, so having her beaten might teach her a lesson.

Xaizor: You should have seen it, Rayla. Melanie was so weak, she had to cheat in order to actually fight. She used a bladed fan and also her guards in order to attack Marina.

Xaizor: Best part of it was seeing her being beaten by the wind. The wind! I bet she didn't even know what was even hitting her until the lights came down. If you ask Auror and the others, they'll also give you a nice version of the story.

Sayaka: That's amazing! I can't wait to see Melanie's face once she comes to school.

Xaizor: By the looks of it, she won't be even showing up for a while. Though I agree, I'd have a lot of fun laughing at her.
Marina: P-Please, say no more! Not only are you embarassing me, but you are making me sound as if I was so violent like you are!

Marina wasn't proud of what she did. Even though Sayaka looked happy about it, as a representation of how the students felt, she wanted to erase anything that happened.
