Bio

I am a 29 year old male. It has been a while since I posted to this site, but I want to get back into it. I enjoy RPing fantasy mostly, with some interest in Sci Fi and certain fandoms. I am more likely to maintain an RP if my partner is skilled in RPing and posts at least once every few days. I have an active imagination and tend to post casual to advanced. I am looking forward to RPing with many different people, and I thank you for taking the time to read my bio. :)

?? Can I ask if there might be a reason for your refusal of my character besides your personal distaste of my ability? Because I don't know if that's quite fair.....
Name - Xander Arelius
Alias - Spectre
Age - 19
Powers - Spectre is able to teleport to any location within 50 meters that he has a direct line of sight to. He can also phase through any non living material. He is able to move with complete silence, is rather agile, and is an expert knife fighter.
Weaknesses - When he phases through objects, it creates a very audible crackling sound, similar to static, but much louder. Also, his teleportation can only be done in straight lines, he cannot teleport around objects or through them. An exception is energy barriers, though this always hurts him and disorients him for a few seconds. Additonally, he must be able to focus to phase through objects, so objects moving towards him at high speeds are likely to hit him.
Personality - Spectre is rather reserved and antisocial, he generally avoids people. However, if you are able to befriend him, he is fiercely loyal. He has a bit of a sadistic streak as well, though he only exercises this on those whom he believes deserve it. Ultimately, however, he is actually rather lonely. He has never been seen to smile.
Appearance - Xander is short, standing only 5 foot 2 inches. He is clean shaven and his hair is shoulder length. His hair is white, styled into a spiky pattern than hangs partially into his face, with red tips at the end of each spike. His eyes are a pale blue, and his skin is also pale. He is rather handsome, but there is a long garish jagged scar that runs from his hairline just past his left eye and ends at his jawline. He is thin and wiry, having a small frame and narrow shoulders. He normally wears dark clothing, though for some reason he prefers to wear white gloves at all times with his other clothing. When he assumes the identity of Spectre, he also dons a mask that covers his forehead, eyes, cheeks and jawline, leaving his mouth free to speak. The mask is styled to look like two skeleton hands, fingers together, curving down his face, the fingers ending at his jawline, his eyes peeking through the palms. As Spectre, he tends to wear a long dark coat, though not always.
Brief Bio - When he was a child, he was tormented constantly by other children for his reclusive nature and pale complexion. When he was 8, one of them gave him his scar with a sharpened stick, slashing him open. His powers awoke that night, as he lay in his hospital bed unconscious. He awoke the next morning to find the body dead, killed in his sleep. Horrified, and yet elated somehow, he ran away from home. He lived on the streets for many months, but was eventually returned to his parents. By this time, they had begun to think there was something wrong with him. They began to act afraid of him, and when he was 12, he ran away again. This time he stayed away, and learned to teach himself to survive. Since then, he has re-entered society, though his real goals and aspirations remain a mystery, as those around him still believe him to be odd and avoid him. He has also begun to act as a vigilante, targeting those who have a habit of harming innocents, especially women and children.
Notes - Most of those who know about his abilities also fear/avoid him, partly because of his personality, and partly because his abilities are potent and dangerous. He has embraced a thought process in which he believes himself to be a spirit of vengeance and retribution for the weak.
Might I ask where the completed CS is? I'd like to get a feel for the kind of characters that are going up before I post my own character.
Is there a link to the RP? Or isn't one up yet?
I was wondering if we might be able to institute some system where the thread posters are able to delete posts from certain RPers if they are illogical or force the roleplay in a direction that does not make sense. For example, causing a situation that would likely instigate violence, but leaving again before that violence occured. Or, ignoring personality traits that would affect their character, such as intimidation. The purpose of this would be to correct the flow of the story if it goes sideways too quickly, bringing it back into the possible for the setting.
Okay, so I need to address some things. This first part is directed at Boss. Firstly, while I can see that you did intend to correctly describe the location of the hideout, you are only half correct. There is a passage, which leads into a ravine dotted with other passages and caves, and a second passage to the right of the first that enters the ravine is the one that leads to the clearing where the camp is. Basically, passage, ravine, second passage, clearing with camp. Kurokuma's cave is to the side of the clearing. Secondly, and more importantly, I must address the fact that your character, while well intentioned, has breached the bounds of what is possible in this scenario. He walked into the middle of a bandit camp, walked right up to where the leader lived, gave him some advice along the lines of, "If you do this you might live another year" and then walked out. My character's real strength is in his character, but what makes people consider him in the first place is his intimidation and obvious power. Your character seemed almost immune to that. Honestly, I think your character should have been peeing his pants, but I won't make you do that. I would think he would actually be intimidated though, if not outright frightened. Secondly, there is no way Kurokuma would let him leave once he'd entered the camp. No way. He would tie him up and toss him in a corner if he had to, but you didn't give him the chance. After all, your character now knows where his camp is. He can't let you leave until he's sure you won't tell anyone. And he's not the kind to have that level of trust easily. Basically, after you entered the camp you would be either a prisoner or part of the camp or dead. Those are the possible choices.

Also, Lady Tonia is accepted. Lord Pie, you may post whenever you wish.
All right, I'm in. ^_^
Oh, Lol. I guess it was the computer I was using. I can see them now.
Kurokuma had been talking with Sable, the man who had been keeping tabs on the preening peacock in the nearby cabin. Kurokuma had an innate distrust of nobles, reformed or not. He found them to be a generally pompous, blustering, ineffectual lot. This one had set up a cabin just a little ways down the road that passed outside the woods, and Kurokuma was careful to pay attention to anyone who lived nearby, especially someone as out of place as this noble. He'd rather surprised to see that the noble was building his cabin himself. It seemed rather out of character, and had made him decide to simply have him watched rather than immediately raided. The man had recently come onto his radar again, after he heard a rumor from one of his recent recruits that the man was asking about him in town.

He had told Sable that he'd done well, and had been getting more details about what sort of trip this man had gone on when Gehrhart appeared at the entrance to the cave. Kurokuma paid him no mind. Gehrhart was probably the closest thing he had to a friend in this camp. The others were all useful, yes, and they respected him, but his reputation and demeanor meant that they did not seek to involve him in social situations. He didn't really mind. But Gehrhart was different. The man was experienced, disciplined and a fine warrior. He was someone whom Kurokuma believed he could trust with most any task and have confidence that it would be carried out. More than that, he felt that Gehrhart was a man that he would trust to watch his back in battle and he would do the same for the other man.

He continued to speak with Sable for a few more minutes, but then he heard Gehrhart draw his sword and address someone who had approached the cave. Since Gehrhart had not raised the alarm, the visitor must not be hostile. Kurokuma's eyes met Sables and he said, "Follow me." Then he strode out towards the entrance of the cave. As he emerged, wrapped in his long black cloak, his form straightened and his full height was revealed as he viewed the man who Gehrhart was holding at sword's length. It was obviously the same man they had just been discussing. Kurokuma could tell by his clothes. He'd heard a bit of the conversation as he approached and he eyed the man in front of him, his massive build dwarfing the other man. His face was set in a scowl, and his eyes did not leave the noble. Finally, after a brief pause, he addressed the man in a strong low voice. "So, have you guessed why it is that men might follow me, if not for my ideas?"
Is it all right if I do a bit of a longer personality? I do like to flesh out my characters with some detail and explaination. Nothing too long, but a few sentences. If you'd rather I didn't, that's cool, but I thought I'd ask.
