Okay, here's my character.
Name: Avan Atwood
Nickname: N/A
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Race: Half-Elf
Occupation: Independent Researcher
Housing: Small house in the outskirts of Triet. Even though Avan does not visit his home often, his uncle still resides there.
Description of looks: Avan is on the lean side when it comes to physique and stands at a height of 5’ 9” tall. He weighs about 160 lbs. and his skin tone is tanned, one of the signs of his home in the desert. His ears are only slightly pointed at the tips, though they still resemble ones on Humans unless they look closely at it, that is if his hair is not obstructing it. Avan’s hair is shoulder length with his bangs hanging down over his forehead and is a silvery-blond in color. His facial features are almost boyish and his eyes are a deep shade of light blue. Avan’s clothing mostly consists of a dark colored, long-sleeve tunic and similar colored long pants. At his neck is a choker that has an embedded exsphere on it. Around his waist is an ornate sash that resembles the design of the desert and wears comfortable traveling boots. Also at each side of his hip are his weapons and around his back is a traveling pack.
Main Weapon (Primary) : One-handed Staff
Sub Weapon (Primary): N/A
Main Weapon (Secondary): Grimoire
Sub Weapon (secondary) : N/A
Type of Artes: Offensive and Support Magic (similar to the Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology Bishop class).
Fighting Style: Avan mainly fights ranged, using his offensive magic to damage his foes from a distance. He also possesses a couple of close range artes that would allow him to either ‘jump’ back from his enemy or push them away from him. When he is focusing on casting offensive artes, he generally uses his one-handed staff, while for support and healing magic, he uses his grimoire. So he would have to switch weapons in order to perform the other, but would prefer to stick to one weapon at the start and throughout the battle.
Mystic Arte(s) : TBA
Sexuality: Bisexual
Hometown: Triet
Weaknesses: Avan is rather frail physically due to his physique and can bruise easily if hit hard enough. He dislikes Humans because of their prejudice, so he has difficulty in fully trusting them. He can also be too honest for his own good, not afraid to speak his mind even if it might get him into trouble. When he is focused on his own things, such as his work, he tends to drown out the rest of the world—until he gets a good smack in the head to get his attention again. Is also claustrophobic.
Strengths: Observant and levelheaded, tends to think things through before acting. He is a hard worker and most of it shines through when he is focused on his work.
Elemental Weakness: Ice and Earth
Elemental Immunity: Fire and Wind
Background: Avan lived most of his younger years in Triet and is familiar of the region around the desert. His mother was Human and unfortunately, his Elven father passed away while defending his family from monsters when they had been traveling prior to residing in Triet. Avan was two at the time and he and his mother moved in with his uncle in the desert town. His family took precaution when they decided to permanently live in Triet, ensuring that they did not suffer the same prejudice as the other Half-Elves that did not join the Desians. Throughout his childhood, Avan spent most of his time posing as a Human (even though he hated that idea) and observed the merchants and travelers that stopped by the oasis, spending time with them and learning all he can. Though soon his lifestyle changed when his mother passed away from an illness and he started to drift away from his uncle. His time was mostly spent with other ‘hidden’ Half-Elves that he discovered that lived and traveled to the desert oasis.
As he got older, he learned about the ancient ruins in the desert from fellow Half-Elven residents and became fascinated by it. He decided to one day venture out to the ruins and the moment he saw them in the flesh, he knew he wanted to study them. When he was in his late teens, he learned of several organizations dedicated to researching ruins and history, so he decided to leave Triet and to seek them. Those years leading up to the present, Avan had been traveling solo around the continent, and learning that something was going to happen at the Martel Temple near Iselia, he makes his way over there.
