You think it's funny, others think it's poor in taste. Done. Just let people post their complaints (it's way better than when your players don't speak up) and wait for the responsible parties to respond in proper fashion. It's not worth anyone's time discussing how people should be experiencing something differently, unless you want to start a fight or whip up a shitstorm. I think we can all agree nobody wants that.

Also, pro-tip: as I'm sure you've noticed, people ain't responding well to light-hearted 'joking'. Even if you intend to do good, the worst thing you can do to get a person to calm down is telling them to calm down. Or calling them butt-hurt, that tends to not work either.
I'm direct and used a naughty word. Obviously fuming in rage behind my keyboard, yes sir.

I'm expressing my dislike for the event and address how such things are better dealt with should they occur in the future. That's it. If you spare me the 'u mad - i aint even mad' cycle, there's really no need to prolong this for me.
He can try to fuck off.

For future reference, if anyone has a problem with me in any shape or form, please have the common decency to come to me directly instead of employing some goon who apparently has an affair with caps-lock to do it for you. You will get a far better response out of me than outsourcing it to someone I dislike, has nothing to do with this RP and has no authority over me whatsoever.

As for rushing posts. Brovo is aware that I post at my own pace, and I've still been accepted into the roleplay with that knowledge. He's been accepted into my RP with the same knowledge about him. I work around this on a regular basis. Brovo is moving, which is great for him, but also means his post will likely be delayed from the regular weekly schedule. He probably doesn't have to work around anything. I don't see the need for the push.
Hah. That's pretty useful.
I do try to travel whenever I have the chance. Or well, that's not entirely true, but I do love to see the world.

The idea I was getting at is that the empire has a long history of corrupt and evil tyrants, including the Good Queen's father and most who came before her, who she is directly related to, although they never had a chance to do anything about it because of the harsh measures they would take against any dissenters. There would still be people alive who remembered her father. This queen is not planning for such a rebellion, which would make it easy to start. The people know that they have suffered because of the Queen's ancestors, and right now the leaders of the rebellion don't want to continue to live just hoping that their ruler will be benevolent. In addition, no matter how good this queen is, she's still allowing no power to the people, even in the smallest amount. She's basically saying "leave everything up to me and I'll make it right, it's not your duty to decide what's best for yourself," and people are starting to catch on to that. I suppose you can say there's a renaissance like thinking spreading through the empire, and the current regime is clashing with the new ideals that man should be free to guide his own destiny. If you still are interested then you can brainstorm ideas (I'm open to most things) and after I'm back from vacation on Sunday we can finalize the ideas.

So basically a lack of faith in the monarch and restriction in personal rights? Besides the right to vote, what freedoms does the queen's rule take away?
wen u post borov
It does sound different and potentially interesting, but I find the motivation of overthrowing the monarch for the sole reason of democratic desire kinda far-fetched. I can imagine a band of rebels trying to take over for personal gain, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get an entire country to turn on a ruler with a reputation like that. Is there any other motivation? Do people want revenge for the suffering of their forefathers? Are evil princes lining up for the crown? Are the queen's restoration efforts taking too long to please the people? Has a neighbouring country flourished shortly after a similar revolution? Do people still hate other provinces and clans but are prevented from going to war with them under the unified rule? idk, I guess what I'm trying to say is; are there more details to your idea and setting yet?

Lol, since I've been unable to access net for four days, I have a post for Emily and will have it up shortly. Hope you like it. And congrats Kestrel on the internship! So far this rps survived much worse then an absent GM, so I'm sure it'll prevail through September as well. We're a patient bunch after all.

It's a six month internship ;p I'll probably be able to arrange something though, but idk the details until I get there.
If you're doing it right, you set your players up to tell the story. Sure your GM creates the setting and big bad, but the story is about John, Sally and Bob going on a journey through your setting to beat the big bad and your players create these characters, determine their actions and choices. Unless these actions don't make a difference, the players already are storytelling.
