This question has me curious. Any evolutionist want to take that one? it was rather...overlooked, or it was server lag.

It's a joke. Humans share a common ancestor with apes, first off, and secondly this is covered in the very basis in Darwin's research (finches evolving different beaks depending on their environment and available food in it.) Said statement is one of the most frequently used counters, and laughed at because the statement in itself is ignorant. It makes no effort to even hear what evolution has to say, because the theory and and by itself answers this.

Hey, I'm working on it. :P I think it's Emily's turn in CTHD...maybe. XD

On a rush? ;p
Teamwork requires roles to be taken. Guild Wars PvP was actually pretty big on tasks and priorities. To be honest I'd implement such a system in games that are played in sessions like LoL, rather than MMO's where people put a lot of time in building a character (to fit a role or not.)
No rush.I'd be a hypocrite for saying otherwise...

The Evolution topic just got me thinking, it's be kind of cool if there was a game that worked off it kind of.

Like say for example a standard MMO, but it's a 1-life only kind of game.
All character's spawn with pretty basic/all around stats, with slight variations among them.

Then when a person dies they spawn again, but their base stats are based off the base stats of two players who are still alive?
It would be interesting over time to see what kind of feature's, abilities, builds etc. (More if they expand this to powers, class types, races etc.) they turn into over the life-span of the MMO.

MMO's work because people have roles to work within during a fight or raid. A lot of people choose their roles very carefully. Going by the holy trinity (dps, tank, heal) when I roll a tank, it's build and equipment will be completely different from a dps. However, dps are pretty much always the most popular role, so chances would very likely be that if I'm in a raid and my healer disconnects, my character, a few minutes later, revives as a dps with more HP but no way to hold aggro. There goes all my effort in building my character for the role as tank, and to top it off, I'm not even a valid DPS.

Also, this would feel like a cheat because player skill can keep a shitty character alive longer than a n00b with godlike settings. If there's randomised stats, there are seriously people who will spend a day reseting until they get the right starting stats (thankfully most games don't have this feature anymore.) The idea sounds interesting on paper, but unless you've got a heavily modified system around it, I don't see it keeping players for very long before they move on.

+1

I'm glad some people still understand this separation.

I do extremely little creative writing. I can't even count the times I start something up for WotM only to tell myself "No Kestrel, your entry is bad and you should feel bad." because my RP'ing habits just bleed in. And this is coming from someone who previously sent in stuff without even proofreading it properly (thank you reviewers of old!) It's a good thing I don't have to use the usual formats to fulfil my 'creative needs' (god that sounds so tacky.) I can make a separation where it's needed however fortunately. Reports and such are still a-okay. Though my creative projects tend to require scripts and the like, so I have a whole bunch of different tools and formats to work with. Also being able to rely on video and audio is honestly a life-saver in this aspect. I've moved away from the creative writing-part, I think.
If only Xaltwind were still with us, he'd be able to tell you about the horrors I have planned...

Mostly because I stole one of his ideas and twisted it to become gruesome...

Hm, since Jester's down, that means all telepathy-1 won't reach Bishop, right?

I don't think so, no, but it should be one post down-time.

Uhhhh sorry didn't realise I was holding up rendezvous crash.

Should be able to move it further, but if you want to post first that works too.

Also Free Billy is up. Things are going to get a bit... Nasty, though...

“Nothing much will happen to them, but they will see something alright!” The woman spoke ominously to Mime, “I'll take you and your sister out of here, a lot of people will be rough and those librarians sure can push back.” The woman also noticed Remia getting closer, mostly due to to crowd's inability to stop her progress.

“Quick, go.” The woman pressed Arlette away, “I think those Librarians are onto something. You'd best get out while you can.” The woman said, trying to make way for Arlette and Mime also. Although of course, she'd fare far poorer than Remia at maneuvering through the vast body of people...

Meanwhile at Mari's, it seemed one of the bull-horned dogs had noticed something. Unfortunately, it was her. It stood up and glared at her, warning the men of Mari's presence. They did not make a move yet, but clearly their attention was drawn and they watched her closely from her rooftop. The men spoke, but not loud enough for Mari to understand. What was noticeable however, was how they had to do their best to calm some of the bull-dogs and make them lay down again. After all, the standing creatures revealed there was much less dog about it than it did lying down. Large, bat-like wings were attached to it's fore-legs, and it stood a lot lower than a normal dog... Also, two men separated from the group, along with one of the monster-dogs and disappeared between the buildings, at first sight moving away from the beach.

On the other hand, Mari would also notice something far in the distance moving towards the beach. It was very large, a platform on wheels of sort, with at least four horses in front of it. She wasn't quite able to make out what it was, even with her binocular, but might if she remained standing on her rooftop... In which case she might be able to see the horses were transporting a large aquarium and inside of it was some type of fish... And the disturbance in the sea she'd noticed earlier was following it's route.

Eowyn and Nathair found each other back near the stage, where fortunately not much had happened yet. “Where the heck are the others?” One of Simon's less friendly colleagues whispered, “The people here are getting noisy, I suggest you-” Eowyn and Nathair wouldn't need to hear the rest of his sentence. Suddenly from the crowd, two people began attempting to climb the stage. They were headed for Simon's spot, and would grasp his spot if they got the chance...
It's from super-old notes. Their stats were for mother of the dunes, as they were intended to be enemies to fight, but you guys decided to talk instead, so I brought in the dragon :P
