To the Most Honourable Lord Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, 3rd Marquis of Salisbury,
Having received your telegram of Monday 1st January, 1900, at 21:50, requesting the immediate deployment of a squadron to the Horn of Candor, I write to inform you that I have been unsuccessful in procuring the agreement of His Sacred Majesty to this request. However, His Sacred Majesty has permitted that an extra flotilla be deployed to the region so as to better protect against unsavoury incidents.
Yours sincerely, The Most Honourable Lord John Fisher, 1st Marquis Fisher, Lord Grand Admiral, Admiral of the Fleet

Tuesday 2nd January, 1900
To the Most Honourable Lord Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, 3rd Marquis of Salisbury,
His Sacred Majesty received your telegram of the previous night and has instructed me to write this letter in response. While this matter of importing automobiles from the Kaiserreich of Antenland is of interest to His Sacred Majesty, he is most averse to allowing citizens of the Kaiserreich - experts or not - entrance into the Sacred Kingdom. It ill behoves us to permit these undesirables access to our Kingdom and involvement in its development. His Sacred Majesty thus instructs me to inform you that his wishes are to focus on the complete modernisation and expansion of the railway networks across the home isles and colonies. We trust you will be able to secure the necessary technology from more advisable trading partners.
Yours sincerely, The Right Honourable Lord Francis Knollys, 1st Viscount Knollys, Private Secretary to the Sovereign

Historical Snapshots:
1066: William the Conquerer, the Aquarian Duke of Normandy, conquered Ulgyrikan, becoming King.
1088: William died and the realm was divided between his two sons. The Norman and Ulgyrikinan realms were once more under different rulers (Ulgyrikinan to William Rufus, Normandy to Robert Curthose).
1100: William Rufus died, replaced by his son Henry I.
1105-6: Ulgyro-Norman War. Henry I conquers Normandy from Robert.
1117–1120: Ulgyro-Faerish War. The new King of Faerdom (the name of Aquarian when it was a kingdom), Louis IV was unhappy with the Ulgyrikinan conquest of Normandy, and so declared war on Henry I. Ulgyrikinan emerged victorious and its rule on Normandy affirmed.
1337-1453: The Hundred Years' War. The war ended with the complete conquest of Faerdom by Ulgyrikan.
1494-1559: Ulgyrikan slowly lost its grip over Faerdom, and eventually lost all of its Aquarian territories. The Kingdom of Faerdom was re-established.
1776-1783: Funded the Candorian (aka Cantorian) revolutionaries in their war of independence. The SK recognised the Confederacy on February 6, 1778, with the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Commerce, which was immediately followed by signing the Treaty of Alliance in anticipation of conflict as a result. Hostilities soon followed after Antenland declared war on the SK on March 17, 1778.
1783: Signing of the Treaty of London, bringing an end to the Candorian War of Independence very much in favour of the Confederacy.
1789-1799: The Aquarian Revolution. The King of Faerdom was overthrown by the population. Due to their rivalry, Ulgyrikan covertly funded the revolutionaries against the King. The King of Faerdom was executed, though some relatives managed to escape to Ulgyrikan.
1799-1818: Despite Ulgyrikinan attempts to stabilise the newly-established Aquarian state, chaos reigned for 19 years.
1818-29: The Aquarian Republic is established and the nation stabilises somewhat.
1830: The terrible state of the Aquarian economy causes another uprising.
1831-1870: The Civil War period. Aquarian tears itself apart for many years, emerging as three separate states.
1871: A brief war appears to have taken place between the SK and the Kaiserreich, resulting in the occupation of Southern Firland by the latter.
1885-1890: The Crusade of 1885 against the Empire of Volanth takes place. Though extremely successful at the beginning, the SK lost much of its conquests later in the war. Despite this, it gained Ulgyrikinan Argonia, the Horn of Candor, the Virgin Islands, the Isle of Christ, Ulgyrikinan Walderia, and Malta & the Pyrenees during the peace negotiations.
1894: The Incident of 1894 took place, where Ulgyrikinan ships (flying a different flag) were discovered attempting to smuggle weapons into the Kaiserreich's colonies. The SK did not wish to carry out an investigation. Pressure from the KR forced them to however, and the result was that 'petty smugglers' were at fault. Incidents of the nature seem to have repeated themselves, the most recent being in late 1899.
1895: Establishment of the Democratic States of Aquarian due to the skill of Maxon Miles. Having experienced stability for nearly 25 years, the states of Aquarian are formally united under the name the Democratic States of Aquarian. Though repulsed by its democratic system, Ulgyrikan established a good relationship with the new state - just as it had done with the Confederacy over 100 years before - on the basis of their humanity. Maxon Miles dies within a few weeks of the new state's establishment and is replaced as General by Dallas Finton.
Territory Claims:
Economy: 14 - Economy - Your economy is slightly above-average, and the nation can usually fund what it needs. 11 - Production - Your nation is a mix of agrarian and industrial. The Kingdom's economy has been going strong for many years now, and the result of this stability has had an effect on society at large. The burgeoning capitalist class is confident and optimistic, and industry is taking off all over the country. With government incentives, the Kingdom has managed to maintain food autarky, and its metals, metalsmiths, and metalworks, in general, are renown the world over and provide it with all its metal needs. Being an island nation with a powerful navy, it has been able to secure its trade routes and resources from its colonies have recently started making their way to the home isles - which will undoubtedly contribute to a coming economic boom and enable the government to further fund its ambitious projects.
Technology: 9 - Tech - Your nation is still antiquated, but modernisation is about to begin or in its beginning stages. While the Kingdom has generally been able to compete with most other world powers when it comes to technology, and while some of its inventors and engineers have historically been famed across the globe, it has undeniably fallen behind somewhat in recent years. Its weapons technology is outdated and its railway lines, which connect all the major cities and many minor ones, are in pressing need of renovation and improvement. Many believe that the way forward is greater expansion of the Kingdom's colonial holdings and utilisation of available resources to fund research and development in various areas. Whether the King will approve this plan of action remains to be seen, for others whisper of his admiration for Aquarian's advancements and his desire to arrange some kind of exchange of expertise between the two nations. It is a rumour that has caused many a hawk to grumble.
Army: His Sacred Majesty's Armed Forces; His Sacred Majesty's Most Holy Ulgyrikinan Army
HSM's Most Holy Ulgyrikinan Army is a relatively small but well-maintained professional force. While HSM's Most Holy Naval Forces are the major line of defence for the island kingdom, should an enemy ever succeed in landing they would find the Most Holy Ulgyrikinan Army a formidable foe. Along with Most Holy Naval Forces, they have partaken in the Kingdom's recent expansion abroad and are an important component in the Kingdom's colonial aspirations. Due to this, His Sacred Majesty has highlighted the importance of expanding the capabilities of the Most Holy Ulgyrikinan Army in every way. For this purpose, friendship with the more technologically advanced Democratic States of Aquarian is to be maintained and strengthened.
At present, all soldiers of the Most Holy Ulgyrikinan Army use the standardised, domestically produced ABUSDEUS Model 1876 Rifle. (ABUSDEUS: literally, God's Frown). It is a lever-action repeating rifle which has proven extremely successful in winning the as of yet small colonial holdings of the Kingdom. Despite firearms being present for many centuries, the Kingdom has maintained a very insistent adherence to traditional battledress. Thus Ulgyrikinan soldiers generally wear chainmail and armour. This has meant that for centuries now they have continued developing and bettering armour, making them amongst the most skilled metal smiths in the world, and their armour amongst the lightest. It is rather effective, to a limited extent, in protecting against firearms too.
The Most Holy Ulgyrikinan Army also makes use of domestically produced regular field guns and Gatling guns, and import Maxim machine guns from the nearby Aquarian. Ulgyrikinan engineers have been carefully studying these machine guns in order to produce a domestic variation.
The Most Holy Ulgyrikinan Army's mounted troops generally charge into battle with lances 2.97 metres long, before engaging in combat with sabres. They are generally well armoured and carry with them a manually operated lever-action, seven-shot repeating rifle, produced domestically, called the Spencer Repeating Rifle (named after Ulgyrikinan inventor Christopher Miner Spencer). It is very effective and easy to use from horseback.
The King is the Commander-in-Chief of the Most Holy Ulgyrikinan Army. The Chief of the General Staff is the professional head of the Most Holy Ulgyrikinan Army, and is generally a five-star general (a Field-Marshall). HSM's Most Holy Ulgyrikinan Army has two major branches. The first is HSM's Home Guard, who are stationed on the home isles. The second is HSM's Colonial Expeditionary Force, which is stationed across the Kingdom's colonial holdings. Each of these is considered an 'Army' and is headed by a four-star general.
Each 'Army' is split into three 'Corps'. Each of these is headed by a three-star Lieutenant General.
Each 'Corps' is split into three 'Divisions'. Each of these is headed by a two-star Major General.
Each 'Division' is split into four 'Brigades'. Each of these is headed by a one-star Brigadier General.
Each 'Brigade' is made up of three 'Regiments'. Each of these is headed by a Colonel.
Each 'Regiment' regiment is split into two 'Battalions' and two 'Companies'. A Battalion is headed by a Lieutenant Colonel while a Company is headed by a Captain. The numbers are as follows:
Infantry Battalion: 20 Officers, 600 Regular Infantrymen, 60 Others Field Battery Company: 10 Officers, 150 Gunners, 5 Others Mountain Battery Company: 10 Officers, 150 Gunners, 5 Others Cavalry Battalion: 20 Officers, 400 Dragoons, 65 Others Total in a Regiment: 1,495 Total in a Brigade (3 Regiments): 4,485 Total in a Division (4 Brigades): 17,940 Total in a Corps (3 Divisions): 53,820 Total in an Army (3 Corps): 161,460 Total in the Most Holy Ulgyrikinan Army (2 Armies): 322,920

Navy: His Sacred Majesty's Armed Forces, His Sacred Majesty's Most Holy Naval Forces.
One of the largest navies in the world, HSM's Most Holy Naval Forces come at some 160 warships and 50 transport ships. Ship names are generally preceded by a series of letters which identify the ship's type. The nation's vast merchant fleets are generally privately owned, though the government does dabble in trade and provides protection to all the Kingdom's shipping.
Ironclad: A steam-propelled warship protected by iron or steel armour plates. Designed for several roles, including as high seas battleships, coastal defence ships, and long-range cruisers. Many ironclads are built with the capability to make use of the ram or the torpedo, which a number of naval designers consider to be the important weapons of naval combat. Preceded by the letters HSMRI (His Sacred Majesty's Royal Ironclad).
Armoured Cruiser: A type of warship designed to operate as a long-range, independent warship, capable of defeating any ship apart from a battleship and fast enough to outrun any battleship it encountered. Varying in size, it was distinguished from other types of cruiser by its belt armour — thick iron (or later steel) plating on much of the hull to protect the ship from shellfire much like that on battleships. Preceded by the letters HSMRF (His Sacred Majesty's Royal Frigate).
Light Cruiser: A type of small- or medium-sized warship. Its name is a shortening of 'light armoured cruiser', describing a small ship that carried armour in the same way as an Armoured Cruiser: a protective belt and deck. While lighter and smaller than other contemporary ships they are still true cruisers, retaining the extended radius of action and self-sufficiency to act independently across the world. They serve in a variety of roles, primarily as convoy escorts and destroyer command ships, but also as scouts and fleet support vessels for battle fleets. Preceded by the letters HSMRC (His Sacred Majesty's Royal (Light) Cruiser).
Torpedo Boat: A relatively small and fast naval ship designed to carry torpedoes into battle. The first designs rammed enemy ships with explosive spar torpedoes, and later designs launched self-propelled Whitehead torpedoes (named after the Ulgyrikinan engineer, Robert Whitehead). They were created to counter battleships and other slow and heavily armed ships by using speed, agility, and the power of their torpedo weapons. A number of inexpensive torpedo boats attacking en masse could overwhelm a larger ship's ability to fight them off using its large but cumbersome guns. An inexpensive fleet of torpedo boats could pose a threat to much larger and more expensive fleets of capital ships, albeit only in the coastal areas to which their small size and limited fuel load restrict them. Preceded by the letters HSMRT (His Sacred Majesty's Royal Torpedo (Boat)).
Transport Steamships: Screw-propelled transport steamers. Can transport goods and people effectively. Unarmed. Preceded by the letters HSMRS (His Sacred Majesty's Royal Steamer).
Lieutenant Commander (Lt Cdr) - Second in command on most ships and small shore installations. May sometimes be given command of smaller ships.
Commander (Cdr): A commander may command a light cruiser, torpedo boat, or shore installation, or may serve on a staff. More experienced commanders may also be given command or armoured cruisers (aka frigates) and ironclads. Any naval officer who commands a ship is addressed by naval custom as "captain" while aboard in command, regardless of his or her actual rank.
Captain (Capt): Captains with sea commands generally command ships of cruiser size or larger; the more senior the officer, the larger the ship, but ship commanders do not normally hold a higher rank than captain. Referred to as 'Post-Captain' when in command of a ship to distinguish between an actual captain and a lower-ranked commander of a ship.
Commodore (Cdre): A one-star rank of the commander of a flotilla. A flotilla is generally composed of a homogeneous group of the same class of warship, such as ironclads, frigates, light cruisers, torpedo boats, submarines etc. The Most Holy Naval Forces standardise flotillas at five ships of the same class. This is generally the smallest unit of ships found operating together - the next smallest would be a solitary ship. These are generally temporary formations which break off from a larger squadron for a particular purpose.
Admiral (Adm): A series of ranks generally given to those who command a squadron or significant divisions of a squadron. A squadron is generally made up of thirty ships of arying vlasses. This series of ranks is divided as follows,
Rear Admiral (RAdm): A two-star rank. The most junior rank in the series, generally does not command a squadron alone, but divisions within it. Vice Admiral (VAdm): A three-star rank. Second in command of any squadron, and capable of commanding one on his own. Admiral (Adm): A four-star rank. Generally to be found in command of a squadron.
Admiral of the Fleet (AdmF): A five-star rank. The most senior rank in the Most Holy Naval Forces. Commands a fleet - which is generally made up of two or more squadrons.
Commander-in-Chief: His Sacred Majesty is the commander-in-chief of the Most Holy Naval Forces. There is no professional head beside him, though he generally makes decisions after considering the advice of senior naval officers. Though not an official rank, it is generally accepted that the most senior naval officer is the Lord Grand Admiral, a title granted by the King.

The Most Honourable Lord John Fisher (aka Jackie), 1st Marquis Fisher, Lord Grand Admiral, Admiral of the Fleet
Air Force: His Sacred Majesty has not ordained the creation of, and does not consider it necessary to so ordain, the establishment on his behalf of air power capabilities. It is better, in his view, that the His Sacred Majesty's Most Holy Naval Forces should instead continue its expansion and growth. Resources are thus better spent there than in the construction of fancy paper aeroplanes.

@Scarifar So, the First City-State of Xerxes was brought down by the Vowzra's Victors a long, long time ago. Amartia was captured and imprisoned in this holy site called the Cube. The Cube was created by Vowzra and exists in New Chronos. New Chronos is this floating island in a bubble just over the north pole which acts as the base of the Vowzra's Victors. It was put there by Jvan after she beat up Vowzra.
So anyway, Amartia was imprisoned inside this Cube and when Vowzra died both Teknal and Toun noticed it, and Toun commented that there was something imprisoned inside it. But I'm not sure whether anyone ever realised that Vowzra had a hand in Amartia's first fall or that he was imprisoned in the Cube before his return and establishment/takeover of the Second State.
Edit: not that it matters o.o history is full of mystery
Edit 2: Also, Scarifar, I demand you go read the entire IC. You have until the 1st of June. *cracks firewhip*
I'm eventually going to start a humanity page on the wiki and this is my sketch of the immigration of Humans in Galbar. Red is First Generation Wandering. Blue is Refugees from the Flooding. Purple is both, with no clear differences between refugee surge humans and the established pops. Green are post-cataclysm migrations and special cases.
Suggestions more than welcomed.
What cataclysm/special circumstance caused the migration into the Golden Barrens? I was under the impression that humans arrived there at about the same time as they did in the Vetros area.
Unless those who abandoned Cyclone's Prophet were not the first human inhabitants of the region.
