Lever actions were really only a civilian weapon (except some minor use during the late 1800s) most armies during the 20s had bolt action or maybe semi auto carbines infact quite alot of countires used bolt actions well into world war II (British and russian being the most previlant in these having the enfields and mosin nagant). assault rifles didnt really get used alot (they did exist the earliest example of them which i can find the is federov avtomat circa 1915 but 3,200 where made and barely any saw use during WWI and where mainly used during the russian civil war and the resulting war against finland) until after world war 2 (the germans where the first to really promote their widespread use with the stg 44) even then it took the americans until 62 that americans started using assault rifles.

Indeed indeed. I guess the all around point we're making is Demo needs to read his own rules. XD

Though thorgill, you have to note we aren't paralleling real life by much so just because lever actions only saw civilian use for a majority of the time doesn't mean steampunk like nations that ride on unicorns, fly airships, and build giant moving fortresses wouldn't use them ;)

But let's hold off on this discussion until Demo responds.
Hey! I'm interested in joining this if that's alright. Are you guys still accepting?
Hey I uhh, am interested if that helps. This seems like really interesting concept and I would definitely join. Please let me know if you do the reboot.

Added everything to my NS except the military. Y'all please look at it and tell me how it is. I think it is pretty balanced but I don't want to be the god-like GM that ruins the fun so feel free to tell me.

Looks great so far, but the Automatic Rifle seems redundant and pointless. Not even mentioning your own restrictions on weapons on the era, wouldn't a large, heavy, cumbersome, failure prone weapon fine little use in a army of typically weaker individuals? I don't know, that's all that really caught my eye. That and the number 6 gun (The obvious Chicago Typewriter I assume?), if its a smaller bullet, than it ain't even a rifle. And once again, what's the practicality of having that? I would assume that a race of weaker physical strength that excels in speed and CQC combat would focus on lighter, compact weaponry like small calibre submachine guns and light weight lever action rifles of some sort. Also the semi automatics didn't really see the light of day until the late "30s" once again going over the limit in tech cap. I mean it would not be in the least bit surprising nor out of the ordinary to see mussel loaded rifles still in use. The infantry weapons that you talk about for the most part range from late 30s/early 40s to early 50s weaponry in terms of arms.

Anyway, other than that, I don't see anything else wrong with it so far.
Hoorah! Great to hear Demo! I will have an NPC nation up later for you to place wherever you want on the map. I got an idea in mind.
Map looks good and my NS is almost done! I say don't sweat it Demo, it's not like you were taking any land from anyone anyway.

I can't wait to get this going!
That map looks good and the borders for my nation are all set. Here's what I got so far.

Name of Nation:
The Arkil Federation
Flag:

Demonym of Nation:
Arkilian

Race Description:

Nation Location:
Location.
Description of Nation:
The Arkil Federation is a medium sized nation with an emphasis on the great technology of the Airship. They are constantly striving to come up with lighter fuels, safer substances, and faster airships and aircraft. This is because of a wide combination of reasons. Their race feels much more natural high in the air, they're geography essentially prevents them of having a serious navy, and the wide abundance of the substance known as "Kavuria". This substance is a lighter than air material that is mined in a solid ore like state, but refined into a gas. Unlike hydrogen, it is not nearly as volatile or unstable, but at the same time, it isn't a god send either. Kavuria is known to be highly corrosive substance, being able to burn through almost any industrial metal, or cause chemical burns on one's skin, thus it has taken many many years of research and practice to perfect the full scale production of Kavuria. Now with specialized refineries, containers, and the rest of the industry in full swing, it is a readily available and safer alternative to Hydrogen that is keeping the Arkilian airships floating through the sky.

Besides their prowess in flight Arkil is a nation of a progressive social atmosphere. After fairly recent government action, men are now not discriminated against in the military and workplace and the social playing field has been evened out. Though there is one area the progressive movement seemed to not touch, something that probably won't change in a long time. Due to the nation's recent history, their is a strong hatred for any organized religion. Any citizen to govenor will look at a person who believes in any god with disgust and suspicion.

Government of Nation:
The Arkilian government is a democratic republic of sorts governed by three main branches. An Executive Branch lead by the "Sovetor" who serves ten year terms, a Legislative Branch made up of representatives from fifteen different regions. Each region has two representatives. Finally, a Judicial Branch, lead by seven grand judges that are appointed by the Sovetor. This branch decides whether a particular law, act, or legislation coincides with Arkilian Constitution of Civil Freedom. The Arkilian Federation tends to try to mediate peace and provide humanitarian aid when and where it can.

Capital of Nation:

Population of Nation:
79,667,120
Economy of Nation:
Internally, The Arkil Federation has a Mixed Economy with various areas being either Market or Traditional economies. The Government does regulate various areas of the market, but ultimately it is a free market. The nation tries to create a "Balanced Trade" which goes by the motto "Do what you do best, buy the rest". Thus Arkilian exports usually focus around the aviation industry, ranging from selling commercial airships, airship components, and most importantly, refined Kavuria. While the substance Kavuria is widespread in the world, Arkil's refining techniques have made it much cheaper to buy than attempting to produce your own, usually giving nations more options to focus on other aspects of their economy while receiving cheap Kavuria to float their airships.
Nation's Major Export:
Airships (commercial), Experienced Aviation workforce, Refined Kavuria (Grades A-F. This marks of the quality, thus efficiency of it. The higher the grade, the bigger your ship can be for less Kavuria), Aliminuim Alloys, grain, and rice.
Nation's Major Imports:
Stronger Steel Alloys, various food items, Furs, Jewelry, Naval goods(ranging from ships to machinery), concrete, heavy machinery, gold, copper, and exotic goods.
Nation's Military Description:
2,151,013 men during peace time.

Arkilian's military has no ocean based navy due to its geography. The little coast that the nation has is very rocky and has very little potential to support any real naval port, thus most of the maritime patrol or shipping of supplies is done by land or by airship. The military is mainly split into two "branches" though they often work hand in hand with each other except for maritime patrol. First is the Arkilian Federal Guard. This handles all ground forces of the military ranging from infantry, to tanks, to artillery. Second is the Arkilian Airborne Fleet. This handles all airship operations and patrols the skies of the nation and its trade routes.

~The Arkilian Federal Guard~

~Arkilian Airborne Fleet~

Arkil Federation Trade Ship
This airship is the most commonly scene design from Arkil. They are produced to transport large amounts of cargo and sold to other nations. Speed varies based on cargo.

Arkil Federation Interceptor
This is a radical new design of the airship. It is the most compact airship design of Arkil and is one of the newest ones. They act as first response "gunboats" that can be launched from all ships except Destroyers. They house a high grade of Kavuria in their hull that gives them lift, their streamline body design gives them immense speed, and most innovative of all, they're propulsion is compressed lowest grade Kavuria. They carry a large canister of compressed low grade Kavuria that they use to propel the aircraft through the sky. You see, when producing Kavuria for airship use, they often get a bi-product which is considered incredibly low Kavuria and is often discarded. Though as it turns out, that low grade gas works great as a compressed propulsion system as it is more efficient to use than steam as a propellant for light aircraft like this interceptor. They can usually fly for around 1 to 2 hours before having to refuel. Armed with four 20mm Autocannons and a payload capacity for two 250 pound bombs, it is used to harass an enemy fleet and take down lighter targets while occasionally providing ground support. For long range interception or scouting missions, they will often times be seen with three external storage tanks. They are considered to be the most advance flying machines of Arkil.

Arkil Federation Destroyer
The most numerous combat airship of the fleet, this serves as the backbone to the Airborne Fleet. These airships are commonly scene patrolling the airspace or escorting fleets. Main Armament consists of three 105mm cannons and a secondary armament of four turrets that house twin 7.7cm Flak cannons. They can reach a top speed of
40mph.

Arkil Federation Light Cruiser
These provide the more common "heavy muscle" in battles. Armed with six 150mm cannons and one single 38cm cannon as well as four 7.7cm Flak cannons, these ships are essentially stronger, heavier destroyers. They have a top speed of 35mph.

Arkil Federation Battlecruiser
This is the newest eddition to the Airborne Fleet. Designed to be fast, manuvarible, and heavily armed, its odd streamline design does just that. However, they are a recent addition, so they are not as wide spread as the other airships. The ship is armed with five 22cm cannons, six 7.7cm Flak cannons, and a large bomb bay for carpet bombing. It can reach a top speed of 38mph.

Arkil Federation Battleship
The heavy weights of the fleet, these large airships are well armored and well armed. They have four turrets that house twin 38cm cannons, twelve 120mm broadside cannons, and eight turrets that house twin 7.7cm Flak cannons. This airship has a top speed of 34mph.

Arkil Federation "Flying Fortress
This massive airship is the largest in the military and only one has been made with no plans to make any more. Armed with six turrets that house twin 40.2cm cannons, four single barrel 38cm cannons, eight turrets with twin 120mm cannons, and twelve turrets with twin 7.7cm Flak cannons as well as a large bomb bay for bombing operations. It has a top speed of only 10mph.

Noted, Kilo. My bad.

Don't sweat it though, it's really easy for stuff like that to be misinterpreted and all that jazz (trust me, been through that ringer more than once XD).

Other than that hole little thing, I personally like your nation, I'm sure Arkil is going to have so much fun having to deal with a religious monarchy like that. ;)
