"2 new species in under a day? Jorgey we might have stumbled on something bigger than we thought..." Nia rambled as she paced the small, but not cramped, bridge. "We can't even decipher that new message, for all we know it could be the same race broadcasting a declaration of war instead of a new race." Kalo did some typing and looked up, "Unlikely. I can read most of the new ship's weapons, and they are nothing like our trigger happy friends over there." Kalo gestured to the first ship. "Not to mention the fact that the First Ship open fired on the New Ship." Kalo said, sounding the slightest bit excited. " The New Ship is heading our way. No doubt we are in range of their weapons, but they are not firing. My only guess is that they come in peace." Jorgey nodded in agreement. "Nia, record the broadcast and relay it to all known races and see if anyone knows these guys." Jorgey opened up his own broadcast, explaining they want no more than to be on friendly relations with whomever was receiving. " I'm not sure where they came from, but maybe our new friends have the tech to understand us. If not, at least they'll know that we're responding to their broadcast."

"Another species?" Karlson asked, concerned. "Yes sir. We have reason to believe that they have come in peace, as we have been well within range of their weapons for some time now, without any sign of weapons loading or charging." The Representative was still skeptical, his body and all of what he had learned screamed "Trap!", but the evidence Jorgey was giving was convincing. "Nia, our Com. Officer, has been relaying their broadcast to all of our known allies, but no one has heard or seen of them. Although we have not reached all allies, we believe that this races have come from an entirely unknown quadrant of the galaxy. Kalo even suggested that they picked up the same distress signal we got." This new news was disturbing. Quadrants 2 and 4 were unknown, so it was possible they were from an unknown quadrant, but the FTC had 2 allies each based in Q2 and Q4, and if they had not heard of this new race then they must have hid well, or not made much of an attempt to find other intelligent life. Then again, maybe they were some giant space empire that had just not met with our allies yet. "Alright Captain. Just don't cause an interstellar war or anything until I get there, ETA now 3 hours 5 minutes." " Of course Sir, see you when you arrive." The Channel clicked off and Karlson got up and walked around. He knew he would have to alert the other Representatives on the assignment's new details, and most likely vote on what to do next.

"Kalo, lets get a readout on their drones." Jorgey ordered. " Working on it" Kalo promptly began typing and working his magic. A 3D model of the drone appeared on the main screen. "What kind of weapons does it have... Does it have weapons?" "The only thing I can confirm is that it has some kind of kinetic weaponry I've never seen before. It seem not active right now though." Kalo reported. "Alright Kalo, get a read on all the drones, see if any of them are prepping to fire." Kalo checked a few more, nothing coming up. "Good. Well, the peaceful theory still holds up at least."

Karlson awaited the fate of his assignment. He had just briefed the 4 other Representatives on the new situation. "I see little reason to trust these new beings, and if you weren't already more than halfway there I would advise coming back." Explained Yungo, " We should not take chances that could kill a Representative, or start a war." Silence followed, with some unspoken words sent through glares. Karlson was viewing the discussion room from his ship, his face on a monitor where he would normally sit. "The risk is great, I admit, but this new planet could be a game changer! Imagine a booming trade port where travelers can stop on their journey just to pick up necessities, or collectors could buy artifacts from a previous civilization! A port where everything is sold and anyone is welcome, imagine the profits!" Harry Troupe was the most carefree of the Representatives, albeit the most successful business wise. "Yes, I can see the profit in setting up a trade port, my only concern is it's placing. It could be in a wide expanse void of intelligent life. We just can't tell for sure." John Goldif was hardly containing his excitement during the first part of his sentence, "And now I believe all that needs to be spoken has been, let us vote." There were 4 Is and 1 Nay from Yungo to continue to the new planet. "Fine, but if death and debt is what you want go start an interstellar war. It's not like being cautious has ever helped anyone." Yungo griped. "Oh Yungo, stop. Just because you're the oldest actually does not mean you are the dictator." John stated a little harshly, although it did make Karlson feel a little better about his vote. He was very afraid of Yungo. The channel shut off and Kalrson sat down. He was always anxious during votes, even though this was only his third. He took a look at his watch: Still 2 and a half hours until arrival. He made some coffee and sat back down at his desk to read over readings of the planet and started the tedious task of planning out the post.
Name of Faction/Country: The New Republic of Texas
Leader: President Garry Wail
Type of Government: Democracy
History: Texas was arguably the strongest state after the bombs hit. It quickly became the most populated state because of all the people moving away from the blast zones, and also the loss of population in California. It also had it's own power grid (This is real, if you didn't know- ercot.com), the only power grid not to be hit by the bombs. The previous laughable secessionist movement quickly organized and became a real deal. It was 4 months ATB (After The Bombs) before Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Louisiana formally seceded from the union. While they were not the first secession, they were the first one to be taken seriously. The Declaration of Independence and new Constitution were written up, and a Democratic government was setup (Which is not to be confused with the US government.).
Territory Controlled:Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Louisiana.
OK, a few questions:
1. When will IC start?
2. Will the map be updated for the accepted characters?
3. Will you @IRII be playing too or just GMing?
Any activity here?

Anyone know why the random guy posted?

@KingTip@datadogie
Post whenever, but don't go too far in the Prologue system just yet. When other people make apps and join in, give them time to post, too.

Ugh yeah he must be a troll. He's only posted 2 posts and created his account today

@datadogie@WilsonTurner How long should we wait between 2 of our own posts? Like 2 or 3 other people? If so, could we post right after one another if we are just running through dialogue?
I'll Bite.

@ClocktowerEchos Yeah it would be fine if you were a part of the Corporation Navy or a civilian who got a nice ship on their own journey. Just let me know and we can work it out :D
"Alright, go check it out. Just remember to keep an eye out for any useful or valuable materials and record them, this is an unexplored sector."
Those were the last words from Jorgey's Fleet Commander before he powered up his FTL drive and started his first FTL jump towards the supposed ship. Jorgey didn't really think that it was a ship, with a beacon so far away pointing towards it it seemed more like a trap. In his Stinger, the CN Night, he would make 3 FTL jumps to get to the beacon, each taking about 4 minutes with about 3 hours between each jump. He listened to the surprisingly soothing sound of the FTL Drive and drifted asleep. Jorgey awoke about 17 minutes before the final jump. The CN Pilot schedule left little time for sleep, so he took advantage every chance he got. He started getting his data pad ready to record his findings as the final FTL jump started. Also on board the Night was Nia, the communications officer, Kalo, the Weapons officer, and Brick, the engineer. Jorgey and Brick were the only ones awake for the jumps. The rumble of the FTL Drive slowly shut off as they came to the edge of the system they were supposed to be at. Jorgey started up his interplanetary thrusters and took a look around, but it didn't take him long to find the secret of this system. Before he even got to take an in depth look for resources he saw the ship. A strange ship it was, Not giant but considerably bigger than themselves. Jorgey woke up Nia and Kalo. "You guys ever seen anything like this?" They both shook their heads. "Kalo, see if you can figure out what kind of weapons they got, looks like nothing I've ever seen." Both Kalo and Nia took their seats beside Jorgey. "Should I open a channel with the FC?" Nia asked. "No, not yet. Remember, we came to this ship because it sent out a distress beacon." Jorgey started moving closer towards the strange ship. It was truly something else, the FTC came across new species every other Monday, but this - "Hey boss, you might not want to do that," Kalo looked very frightened at what he was seeing, "Whatever weapons it has, it's loading them. We should get far away... Now." Jorgey went full throttle backwards. Kalo put their shields up for extra measure, and good that he did because the shield got hot quickly before moving out of range. "What the hell was that?!" Nia screamed. "There was nothing there but our shields were getting fried? That's not how it works!" Kalo got out of his chair and started thumbing through his 'encyclopedia of weapons' that he's been working on for a while now. "Whatever it is, I've never seen it before and I don't think anyone else has either." He was furiously typing up notes on various pages trying to even scratch the surface of what was going on. "Woah, this outer planet..." Jorgey was circling the outer orbit until he found the planet. "No way..." Jorgey was dumbfounded. He had never seen a planet of such magnitude. Absolutely perfect for life. On closer inspection it had insane amounts of resources, all of them. "Nia, I think it's time for that channel now. Tell them we got a new, dangerous species with a hell of a planet."

Representative Karlson Faroh was excited. Namely because he was voted to go on his first Rep. Assignment. That's saying something because Rep. Assignments do not come up often, usually because they were reserved either for meetings with other races or findings of a grand scale, which didn't happen as often as you'd think in a space as large as this galaxy. This Assignment was about the ladder he was told. He was told that some pilot and his crew were investigating a distress beacon in an unknown sector. Apparently there was a new race, but it had only one ship and some large station at the edge of the system. He wasn't concerned about those. He had his eye on the planet. Occasionally you find an asteroid with a crap ton of gold or iron, but that was it. Never since their own home planet had he seen a planet this rich, the entire planet suitable for anything you could think of! He could see so many opportunities here, they were hard to count. He was on his journey now, in his Royal Cruiser, the Empress, and 2 Transports behind him with enough materials to start a decent Trade Post. He didn't know if it would get much traffic, not knowing the area well, but it was worth a shot, and the resources could always be shipped out if the area is not good. He left the ship on autopilot with the destination selected and walked over to open a channel with the pilot. When the video started he saw a scruffy looking guy maybe in his early 50's. "Hello Representative, I am Captain Jorgey of the CN Night." Karlson was still getting used to the respect everyone gave him, even though he'd been in office for 3 year now. "Hello Captain. I understand you've encountered quite an amazing planet." "Yes sir, we have. Amazing is almost an understatement, sir." Ugh sir this, sir that. It was not amusing to Karlson. "It is quite large and seems to have a weak gravity pull, especially for it's size." Well, everything has it's flaws. A less dense planet means less dense ores means less ores. Still, he shouldn't gripe. It was, after all, a damn good planet. "Very good Captain Jorgey. My ETA is 5 hours 46 minutes." "See you then, Representative." The Channel shut off. Karlson sighed and got up, walking towards his bedroom. Might as well make use of this flying house while he can. He laid down and dreamed of the riches this find would bring.
@datadogie I'm pretty sure it's for the type of warship your using. Look at my app for guidance.
