i wrote this cs while listening to the guardians of the galaxy soundtrack and cuddling my cat. rly good time

also sorry if my 90's references are inaccurate. i wasn't alive for most of the 90's

Junko had only read a few pages before another girl came up to her, introducing herself and asking a few questions. She blinked, trying to process the rush of information. After a moment, she smiled at Ari (the smile didn’t exactly meet her eyes, but it was still genuine).

“Nice to meet you! I’m Junko Ruto,” she glanced down at her book, raising it to show off the cover (showing a large image of Nosferatu), “It’s a book about horror movies.”

Actually, it was a book about popular subgenres of horror and the philosophy and psychology that made them work, but she didn’t want to go all horror-nerd and scare off a potential new friend just yet.

@Traps@Forgiveness

whoaaaaa lookit that junko is finally in this ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_

Junko looked damn good, in her opinion. It was her first day of high school, after all; she had to make a first impression. Over her rather typical school uniform, she was wearing a leather jacket with an Ouija board design on the back, and she had bows in her hair with plastic skeleton hands on them.

She may have looked great, but she felt quite the opposite. She just couldn’t shake the gloomy feeling brought on by the beginning of school. Looking at her, you’d be surprised that a literal raincloud hadn’t materialized over her head. She had a sour expression and a slumped posture befitting only the angstiest of emo kids.

She missed her cat. Why couldn’t she bring him to school with her?

Junko put her things away in her locker, and went out into the courtyard, avoiding interacting with anyone. She leaned against a tree and slowly sunk to the ground, pulling out a book and hoping as hard as she could that no one would talk to her until she was at least a little more awake.

The stranger introduced herself as Sasaki Mika, and the name rung a bell in Kazu’s head. She didn’t pay much attention to pop culture, but she definitely had heard the name before.

She replied, “Kujo Kazu.”

Alice mentioned a meeting later in the day, and Kazu nodded, smiling.

She looked over when two roughed-up looking individuals entered. She recognized one as someone who had left the coffee shop soon after she first came, but the other girl…? Boy…? Person was someone new.

She stayed quiet through the exchange, not really knowing what she could add. While she was concerned, she also felt a weird satisfaction in the fact that she wasn’t the most banged-up person in the place anymore.

Kazu broke her semi-awkward silence with a laugh when Mika came back with a dress for the feminine-looking boy (she had realized he was a boy at this point; his name was Kristian, after all).

“Dang, a Chimera? I’ve never seen one of those before. If he bothers you again, let me know.”

She didn’t really believe she could actually take on a Chimera, and she doubted she was fooling anyone, but boasting was in her nature.
