Is it even that much of a difference? What with PF being basically more of the same with some "improvements" and even more classes to cater to the fanbase that was put off by 4e's approach.

To qualify to become a shadowdancer, a character must fulfill all the following criteria.
Feats: Combat Reflexes, Dodge, Mobility.
Skills: Stealth 5 ranks*, Perform (dance) 2 ranks.
3 feats and feats are available at 1st, 3rd, 5th character level. Ranks are available at 1/level and a +3 bonus for being a class skill instead of 4 ranks at level 1 or 2 for cross class. So RAW one can meet the requirements by 5th in any class.

But these are guidelines more than hard rules and I use them for myself more than against the DM so that I don't run amok doing anything I like and just yelling 'pirate' like a landbound jack sparrow. He has strengths and weaknesses, skills he has and skills he lacks. Claiming to have open/close and lesser darkness 3/day prevents me the player from spamming or getting too 'creative' if stuck in a spot.
@knighthawk ...How did you get into Shadowdancer at ECL 6? It requires 10 ranks in Hide. At level 5, you can barely cover the 8 ranks in move silently.

Anyway, yeah, interested. Considering a ratcatcher who's getting into adventuring because he can either DEFINITELY die of plague while catching rats or PROBABLY die of being murdered in a dungeon crawl.

Pathfinder shadowdancer, not 3.5.
@knighthawk While I usually like legacy characters, you appear to have just imported your ninth-level Shadowdancer and didn't try to condense your sheet into a readable form or explain how your character got their abilities beyond his mostly nebulous training with the thieves' guild.

As it is right now, your character has a relatively blank history and a laundry list of powers and tools he was given while training. I'll allow your character's abilities, Sneak Attack being what it is against undead, but I'd appreciate it if you rewrote it to be more... readable.

6th level character, 5th rogue/1st shadowdancer, but who'e counting. ^_~
I understand. For what it is worth he is shockingly a fairly original character for me, original as in I haven't recycled it from my list of pre-made CS's or an immediate reject from another Rp just a day ago. I can embellish it some, how much more would you like?
@Scrapula Finishing up the rogue character on the same post as the litch. the only thing left is the rest of the equipment.

Well. Getting a 4th magic user. Even if you do have melee skills to go with that, well...

Might be best to pick a different skill set.

Please don't mistake maestro for a PC, He's a litch I'll controll for one of the regions. I haven't submitted my character yet.
Yes. That is right. Sorry for all the fudge ups.

S'alright.

I was do close to finishing my CS and now all my progress is lost. Someone kill me.

Name:
Mortimer Hero
Age:
28
Alias:
Mortician
Appearance:

6' even with a swimmers build of 150.
Skills/Abilities:
Skills:
Boxing for fitness
Standard police detective work
Police pursuant driving skills
Small arms proficiency (preferring shotgun to pistol)
Abilities:
The ability to communicate with the dead. The more recent, the easier to communicate.
0-24 hours: Lots of panic and confusion as the death is so recent and they are frantic for help. It is difficult but not impossible to solve the simple crimes most easily in this small window.
24-72 Hours: More confusion than panic as they are coming to grips with being 'invisible' and probably seeing their dead body for more than a day. These are the most reasonable to deal with and can remember the most details of their life.
72-168: These are much of the last days he can communicate with the dead at the moment as the connection to them and the beyond becomes wispy and out of focus. This is most often single word sentences and pointing.
168+: If the ghost is still around at all, he is usually limited to psychometric impressions until his powers improve.
Weaknesses:
He is a beacon to other ghosts, often leading him to unpleasant conversations at inopportune times.

His power is constantly 'on' meaning his disruptions vary from seeing people in various stages of fading to mental flashes if he pulls out a a dining chair a man choked to death in.
History:
"I see dead people..."
Supposedly born to a librarian for the city and a doctor who lost her license over painkiller prescriptions so had to settle for being a mortician. His father always suspected the boy was not his for a significant reason, he was too good looking. Mortimer's father was a portly pockmarked man who enjoyed his port too much. By thirteen he was already taller than his old man and clearly of finer features. His or not, he was loved the same and carried the family name until his thirteenth birthday when the visions started. Flickers and flashes here or there made him think he was going nuts until he started getting pills to take. When one pill did not work, he took two, then four, then he met his real father.
Some say no two people see the underworld the same way as no two people live the same way. As well read as he was as a librarians child, he did not expect anything as palatial as he was shown; a Greek temple of all black marble with golden veins. There sitting on a throne was a well muscled man who had a scale on one armrest and an abacus on the other.
"This is a responsibility you are not yet ready for. You have not lost your mind, but you have lost your will. I grant you strength to return to the living and understanding of your new power."
He awoke from what was a 5 year coma from the overdose; leaping from 13 to 18 was a traumatic shift in body and mind but he put his renewed vigor to the effort and not only cut through the classes he missed out on but sharpened his skill with the recently dead in his mothers work. From catching up to graduating in only 3 years, he was 21 with his GED when he became a police officer, feeling that was the best way to use his powers to get information from the dead and have the power to persecute criminals to their full justice. That was 7 years ago, he made homicide detective after five and been an investigator for two years now.

Notes: I can see him becoming a 'spirit detective' for a supernatural group in the city or else a collector of wayward souls for his dad until he takes over the family business in a couple hundred years.
Some items i'd like to see him get is his dad's helm of darkness and a pen he can use to give the dead a chance to deliver a final message that keeps them tied here before being collected.
I Just found this page and I hope it is struggling but not dead.

Just a foot in the door before getting to far along here.

No, actualism. Tell me when I make these kinds of mistaking fudge ups.

As you wish. So please, from the begining:
Starting stats are 1 Atk 3 Def 10 health with 6 free points for character creation. 2 bonus for returning character, then another 6 for pyrophobic and structural integrity negative traits. 14 total

7 points to Defense
1 point to attack
2 points for brick dust
2 points for human shield
2 points for Stoneskin

14 total... right?
<Snipped quote by knighthawk>

Wait, no. You got Pyrophobia for 4 bonus points. God dam it Knight, you gotta tell me about this stuff!

Confusing sarcasm?

And, no. Because ATK isn't brute force. Since Flare's ATK came from his fire powers, and Void's ATK came from her Void Powers. Basically, unless your powers otherwise stipulate, you are as strong as you would be without powers.
