Adjusting to the military lifestyle wasn't as difficult as she had originally thought, but that could also be attributed to her ease of adapting to new situations. For a girl that lived on a farm, Britta found that she didn't have too much difficulties in getting used to life in the military. Training was tough, yeah but it wasn't nothing that she couldn't grit her teeth and clench her fist until she pulled herself through it.

The plucky lass thrived in the face of adversity, and this was just yet another of the challenges she faced in her life. Whenever she had moments of doubt or despair, she would think about her family back home, and remind herself why she was here. True, the deciding factor in her signing up to join had been the money, but then she realised that being able to fight for her country and its people from the Imperials wasn't bad either.

The routine had been different, and it had been uncomfortable in the initial adjusting phase, but once she managed to work out the routine, Britta quickly got herself used to the rigors of military life. She'd learnt how to operate and shoot a rifle, gone through obstacles courses and ate dry rations along with everyone else. It was only after basic training, that she was selected to undergo specialised machine gun training before becoming a full-fledged gunner. She had to get used to carrying around the heavy gun and its ammunition which was no joke.

Keeping physically fit was an absolute must, as a machine gunner must relocate with their equipment to a secondary position to avoid being zeroed in or flanked by the enemy. She did like the role of providing fire support for her fellow comrades, knowing that the crucial fire support they receive could make all the difference in a difficult combat engagement. Supporting her friends and teammates was just up her alley.

Britta soon found herself attached to the 15th Atlantic Rifles and got into a truck with several riflemen, filling up all the unoccupied seats on the back of the truck. The machine gun she had with her was configured into a light support weapon with a folding bipod detachable drum ammunition container. As the other soldiers assembled and readied themselves for the First Lieutenant to give his speech, and oh what a stiff serious guy he was. Well she didn't know him enough to know if he was really that stiff and serious all the time.

Finally they were dismissed and the groups dispersed as they began to spend what little free time they had left before they all headed to the front. Britta recognised the two Lance Corporals that were introduced earlier, and headed towards them to introduce herself, and it was also there that she realised that the Lance Corporals without the book had a gunner insignia as well. "Morning Lance Corporals Black and Charpentier! Britta Hagen." She said as she pointed at herself. Peering over towards the scribbling guy, she asked. "What ya writing?"
Hey hey,

Sorry for being so late.

Here's my character!

Are you having any character limits? I'm thinking of joining in this if still possible?
Hi, here is my character. Sorry for taking so long. Let me know if it is ok.

Hi.

Mind if I join? Love me a good sci fi.
This looks lit. Even the art looks lit.
The man stared at her as though she had said that pigs now had wings and could fly anywhere they wanted. But then again, maybe it did make sense considering the situation of the world they now lived in. He probably did not expect anyone to speak to him in any other tone than a hostile one, and she probably stuck out from others like a sore thumb when she talked to him there and then.

She saw him studying her and she let him. It was not unusual to do so in the slightest. She had been expecting him to either respond with in a hostile manner like most people were nowadays, but he assumed a wary cautious tone instead. He did not answer her question exactly as it was though, especially the one about him being alright. That was just how things worked nowadays, with most people on living on edge daily.

Instead he asked another of his, gesturing towards the katana she carried on her belt. He wanted to know if she could handle that weapon or if it was just for show most likely. She gave him an answer, not knowing if it was the one he sought for. “This blade has seen the end of many a life. But only those that deserved it.” The man then moved on to finally answering her other questions.

The one about where he was headed. The one regarding the the soot-covered plumes of smokes being bad or good news went unanswered. But perhaps it didn’t really needed to be answered after all. The area it came from was Novus Ordo territory, and anyone fighting them was always a good sign. These Novus Ordo were a bad bunch. Some of them had faced the edge of her blade, and she wasn’t sorry about it.

They had been deserving after all. He asked her the same question she had ended with. Saya gestured toward the plumes of black smoke in the distance. “Good choice. I’m heading there as well. I’m sure many are as well. This smoke can be seen for miles all around. It’ll get complicated once we reach there.” She turned her gaze towards the horizon and began walking towards the smoke. "Coming? We've got to get to the place before the other scavengers do, if we're hoping to get anything worth something."

As she began her walk ahead, Saya thought she heard the man sigh deeply. The reason was unknown to her, and she would not make it a point to ask him if he would not tell. She didn't think the reason would be important anyhow, and these days plenty of people sighed for every little thing, from the world has gone to hell to the sorry pathetic lives they now led. She heard footsteps behind her as the man caught up to her, appearing at her side. The pair walked together side-by-side without a word until he ended the brief silence with a question. He asked if she had a name before he corrected himself, adding in that everyone has a name. A smile curled up at the edges of her lips beneath the mask of her helmet. "My name is Saya. And yours? What do you go by?"

Her new companion introduced himself as Jin Law. She now had a name to put to the voice. The man wasn't a talkative one, and he left his answer at that, and the silence returned as the talking ceased and the only sounds were the pair walking for several moments later when the bursts of sharp cracks reverberating in the air in the direction of the soot-covered smoke pierced the silence with alarming urgency. Saya recognised the cracks as the sound of gunfire and turned to face her companion. Their eyes locked and she quickened her steps into a jog as they quickly covered the remaining distance needed to approach the town of Bravado. The black smoke looked even bigger now that they were close by. She gazed back towards Jin before she made the move towards the direction of the smoke. It was time to find out what was going on.

Despite the fact that she had zero need to take the public transport to get to the MT Line Terminal in Tokyo Station, Momo always found herself taking the Yamanote Line, puzzling her parents and their chauffeur with her strange behaviour. She was highly peculiar and highly unlike her brother and her peers in many regards. The fact that she liked trains as well certainly didn't help one bit. Boarding the train at Shinjuku station at one of the busiest times of the day, Momo got there early to ensure that she had a decent enough space to stand without being squished among the rush hour crowd. She took out a book on Japanese folklore and thumbed her way to the neatly placed bookmark within the pages and continued where she left off from before. It wasn't long before her stop came and it was time for her to alight, as the petite girl squeezed through the crowd, weaving in and out masterfully before darting out of the train as the familiar departure melody began to play.

Momo walked towards Deadman's Corner and flashed her magical ticket onto the turnstile and stepped through and down the escalator, as she headed into the entrance of the magical world hidden away from the eyes of the nijū. Her first stop, just the rest of the other years before this was to head to the taiyaki stand to get her one of those lovely fish pastries. Her particular favourite was the one that had the chocolate filling in it. Who doesn't love chocolate?! With more than twenty minutes to spare until the Shinkansen to Mahoutokoro would leave, she had more than enough time for her to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, as she took a seat on one of the nearby benches and enjoyed her delicious mouthwatering treat. This was a new year for her, and she had plenty of goals and aspirations she hoped to fulfil.

She hoped that this year would be good for Chi in Quidditch and they would be able to wrestle the cup away from the Champions for one. She knew that was a tall order, but the girl could dream, couldn't she? After all, since she didn't get to be in Ka like the rest of her family, the least she could do was to perform well in the team. God knows she had plenty to prove, especially to her brother whom she idolised.
