Jen-Tai

It wasn't often Jen-Tai sojourned into town, especially ones as large as Lenaya. And when she did it was for supplies and services caravans did not offer. The crowds, the tight spaces, it was suffocating. Out in the wilds she could run and jump to her heart's content, here she was stuck waddling along trying not to get her intimidatingly large sword caught on anything. Eventually she made her way into the other side of town, the one filled with gamblers and drunks. All along the streets vendors and entertainers were trying to make a quick coin.

"One coin! Test your strength for just one coin! Best me, and win it all!" One large man in particular was challenging everyone passing by to arm wrestling.

"So when I beat you, I get that entire bag?" Jen-Tai asked, taking the seat opposite him.

"Hahaha, that's if you beat me! I should warn you, no man has ever defeated me. Little lone a woman."

Dropping a coin on the table, she firmly placed her elbow down into arm wrestling position. The large man did the same, and as soon as they locked hands Jen-Tai slammed his down making a loud thud. The man was silent in aww for a moment before speaking "N-no fair! I didn't say go!" Again they locked hands into a neutral position. This time the man, furrowing his brow in concentration, waited a few seconds before shouting "GO!" He struggled to tilt her arm half an inch before she effortlessly slammed his arm down. ""I'll be taking my winnings now."

"Y-you cheated! Some kind of magic, I know it! Get outta here before I call the guards!"

"You dare cheat me, little man?!" She stood up, towering above him. Her hand reached to the blade strapped to her back. But before she can unsheath it a woman appeared to break up the conflict.

"Whoa there! Let's not get hasty. No need to call the guards. She said before turning to Jen-Tai. "C'mon, lets go. Now" Grabbing her arm, the two briskly strolled away until they were out of sight. "Always getting into trouble, aren't you? It's a wonder you survived this long without me, Jen" The woman leaned in to give Jen-Tai a big hug, which she gladly returned.

"Elise! It's been too long. I thought you settled in that river town."

"It was awfully boring, too many elderly folks. Besides, my new job pays much better. So what are you doing in a place like this?"

Pulling the flyer from her pocket, Jen-Tai showed it Elise. "Gold, treasure, and adventure. You know, the usual."

Elise looked disappointed, like she didn't get answer she expected. "Oh Jen, doesn't carrying that thing around get tiring?" she said motioning to the sword.

"It's only a few pounds."

"You know what I mean. It's dangerous out there, all alone. Even for an Amazon. Why don't you settle down, like the rest of us? I've a modest home, with plenty of space. You're more than welcome to come stay with me."

"You know I can't..."

"And I thought I was the stubborn one. Well, I have business I must see to. You'll visit me when you're finished with your little adventure, won't you?

"Of course."

"And... be safe." she said before giving Jen-Tai a kiss on the cheek and one last big hug.

Sometime later Jen-Tai found the entrance to the Golden Guar. She waited outside a while, and before long a snake-like creature with limbs and fur climbed up her leg and arm before finally resting on her shoulder. "Now where have you been, Ravaatra? Everything look good in there?" Ravaatra purred in confirmation. Jen-Tai then entered the place, seeing others have already showed up. She would've gotten a drink if she didn't spend her last coin on that arm wrestling con-artist.
Kewl, I'll get started on my first post :^)

Biography: Born in a hilly green village, her youth was filled with sheep herding, fishing, and yam farming. Its was a simple life, where people value fresh seeds and mounds of soil over mounds of gold, but it was a rewarding life. But as soon as it started her life was stolen away. Slavers, minions of the Warlord, razed the country side in search of breeders; for the Warlord desired an heir to his throne. Houses were burned, cattle slaughtered, and women shackled. Those that survived the storm of blades died of their wounds and grief. All save for Jenivere. Hidden under a pile of freshly sheared wool, she watched her people die. With everything destroyed, she gathered all she could and journeyed south to the great blue. It was after passing thru the moon-glazed forest (named so for its faint glow gifted by the Outlander) did she find the vast ocean, and the Amazons.

The Amazons, a Chiefdom of 7ft tall woman warriors, or so the stories go. But myths and tales have a way of exaggerating truths, you see. In reality the so called "Amazons" were not all warriors, only a handful were. They were not a race of giant women, they were mostly Lydians in fact. And they didn't have a secret kingdom hidden in the forests, they were a nomadic tribe; more of a band really. The Amazons started some years ago, when a group of enslaved women freed themselves. Lost and not knowing who to trust, they roamed the countryside surviving off the land. They taught themselves to fight and fend for themselves. Their favorite prey was slaver caravans, isolated and easily ambushed. Every time one was defeated, their ranks bolstered with newly freed slaves. At the apex there was fifty-some members. Numbers never remained high however. Most of them either returned to their homes or found a new comfortable life in some village or city. These were the ones who told the world the stories of the Amazons, the fierce heroic women who saved them. But there were always a few that remained. The hardened ones. The warriors.

Jenivere became one of them. She was given a new name, Jen-Tai. Raised with love and compassion, taught strength and defiance. When she became old enough, she followed her sisters into battle. But the time of the Amazons were at an end. Slavers, bandits, warlords and the like knew the stories. They dared not cross the countryside where the Amazons roamed. Without caravans to raid or slaves to free, the Amazons dwindled in number. One after another left in favor of a quieter life. And the more passionate ones now rest in a better place. And then there was one. Jen-Tai's past life is but a faint memory. The Amazons is all she has, all that she is. She will proudly die as an Amazon.

Elise Hall
Dorms
@Mivuli

As it turned out, Elise and Isabelle are roommates. It must be destiny! ...or, more likely, they were paired up since they both showed up rather late and that was the only room left. The latter sounds more reasonable. They just made it to the third floor when a chill snaked up Elise's spine. She didn't unpack anything when she first checked in, except for her laptop. Which was still has that page open, which features many things none of which can be called heterosexual. Elise still didn't know how Isabelle felt about that, but she didn't want to risk living with an uncomfortable roommate for a semester. She quicken her pace ever so slightly to get a lead on Isabelle. Yeah, there was no she was gonna get to that laptop without Isabelle seeing. They reached the room, and with the loudest and longest unlocking she's ever heard, the gates opened to the merciful creation that is screensavers. She felt a great weight lifted off her shoulders.

"Where did you come from, by the way, Elise?"

"SoCal. I live 10 minutes from the beach, that's how I learned to surf. I can teach you sometime, I mean, if you want. How about you, where are you from?"

As they talked, they started unpacking their things. Looking at her clothes, she started to realize she has an awful lot of tank tops and snapbacks. Eventually the process became automatic, just putting things away without really thinking about it. That's when she realized she was hanging up a rainbow colored t-shirt in plain sight. Well, rainbows can mean a lot of things, right?

Dorm

"Well, that was really a figure of speech, but this," she raised their linked hands. "I'll be positively sure not to get lost now."

"Oh ahAHAHhah... heheh..." how embarrassing! Elise could feel her face turning red as a tomato. But what does she have to be embarrassed about? Nothing strange here, just showing a new kid to her dorm. Just gals being pals. Yeah, she was over-thinking things again.

"How about you?" Isabelle asked, wondering what sort of match Elise desired.

"Hmmm, well I never really thought about it. I'm not really looking for anything specific, just someone I vibe with. Someone I can cuddle with while we watch Netflix and eat pizza. You know?" Before long they made it to the dorms without trouble. Being a gay girl in the girls' dorm made her feel like a secret agent. Plus it saved her the trouble of sneaking out to see her non-existent girlfriend.

At the reception counter, a woman smiled in warm greeting and gave her a form. Isabelle looked to Elise. "Do you need one too?"

"I already signed in. So which room did you get? I'm in 302, maybe we're neighbors" she said, secretly hoping their rooms are close to one another. For convenience, of course. "Do you need help moving in? I have nothing to do right now."
1/2 way done with my post, but I'm having writer's block

EDIT: I guess posting something short is better than nothing
