Does rank automatically denote skill level?
Because I was thinking of this character who trained in martial arts since childhood and had the power of super strength with a touch of enhanced reflexes and speed(not in any way flash level, just much higher than normal people) Essentially, he'd be a super soldier, ultra ninja....
But he doesn't wanna be a super hero, his mom and his stupid best friend are pushing him into it. It's not that he's lazy, he's just not great with people and he's kind of awkward and a little shy outside of fighting and he'd rather just read and get a nice quiet job in like maintenance or something...
So yeah, he's kind of a bad ass, definitely fully capable of taking on some serious threats, especially in an awesome anime setting....but he's ranked kind of low.
So to repeat my question, does ranking automatically denote skill level?
