@KoukiIt's not just the matter of actually learning, it's having a social environment with peers, in which you can develop a personality and interests. If I made an 18 year old, that means she had no time to make friends or a personality outside of 'boy Galatec sure is nice,' day in and day out. Pro said life was more than just that, but I'm having trouble seeing how I could write a unique character compared to everyone else if seven days a week it's worshiping a corporation.
You said you were going for eighteen?
That means you had eight years of friends and child-like dreams and wonderment. I still remember my days as a five year old, so that means you'll have three solid years of memories that can define you right?
And even if your character doesn't remember everything, can't you imagine the pictures on her wall, the faint memories she'll have of the park where your character scraped her knee and how her mom kissed it better. Can you imagine that being the first moment she realized how easy it was to make someone feel better.
Can't you see her trying to cheer others up after hearing the stories her father would tell about life before "the hard times".
Oh, and she could draw! And she could be the kind of person who creates things in her room because she knows how creating things is so much better and more fulfilling than tearing them down! And maybe that'll be the foundation of how she doesn't wanna fight, just wants to help!
Even if you didn't go that route, I think you still have enough resources to make a defining character with the life given.
PS: I don't think anyone up here considers you the bad guy, I'm pretty sure you even got some props for the being the only one of us that cared more about something other than the powers. I liked reading your questions so...yeah, keep doing that.
