Name: Baarsuth
Race: Trandoshan
Gender: Male
Age: 36
Character Type: Expert - Pilot
Appearance: Baarsuth is a Trandoshan, a reptilian species from the Kashyyyk system in the Middle Galactic Rim. They are a predatory race, known for their cultural enjoyment of hunting. Baarsuth is about average height for a Trandoshan, about 6’5”, and weighs 230 lbs. Years of sitting in a cockpit for days at a time has made him a little overweight, and he has a bit of a pot belly showing. His scales are a reddish brown color, and are a lighter brown on his stomach and chest. He has a few scars on his body, primarily a very large one on his stomach, one on his right thigh, and one on his upper back. His eyes are a reddish orange. They are far-spaced on his face and are almond-shaped, tapering down a bit towards his reptilian nose. He doesn’t have eyebrows, but two bony plates above his eyes make him generally look cross.
Baarsuth wears a light grey short-sleeved shirt with a black half-vest. The half-vest is blaster-resistant, protecting his vital organs from light blaster damage. He wears an orange collar-like object which is attached to his vest. This is a universal translator, translating what people say to Baarsuth into his native T’doshok tongue and transmitting to other translation objects to change his speech to their language. He wears a light brown canvas belt around his waist. Baarsuth wears khaki-colored cargo pants which cut off mid-calf. Trandoshans have very thick skin on their reptilian feet, so shoes are unnecessary for them. As such, Baarsuth is almost always barefoot, or will wear a pair of leather flip flops if the ground is dirty or hot.
Personality: Baarsuth is brash, territorial, and socially graceless. Hearing him talk, one would think that he isn’t very bright, and his grammar is poor. He’s generally rude and socially-oblivious, often slighting people without even noticing. He has a bad temper and can get riled up pretty easily over anyone slighting or insulting him. He’s pretty prideful as well, though he does seem to have some semblance as to what his physical and mental limits are. When it comes to flying, Baarsuth thinks he’s the best pilot there is and that nobody does his job better than he does. His sense of humor tends to be belittling or mildly insulting.
Baarsuth is quite an adrenaline junky. He loves the rush of doing dangerous or risky things and is just lucky enough to get away with doing them. While he has a degree of professionality (he’s not gonna make the ship do a barrel roll because he can), Baarsuth will not back down from doing something risky if the opportunity presents itself. It can be said that Baarsuth is incredibly courageous, though whether or not his courage is altruistic or self-serving is up to debate.
While Baarsuth isn’t the nicest guy, there are good things to be said about him. He’s loyal, grows attached to people around him, and is willing to listen to those around him who have proven themselves to be capable. He has an incredible level of determination as well. If Baarsuth says he’s going to do something, it’s going to get done. Baarsuth is pretty smart, despite how his voice would make him sound. Most of his smarts is in the form of on-the-job learning, as he never had any education past high school. He trained in mechanics alongside piloting when in the military and is very knowledgeable in how starships work, as well as how some kinds of droids work thanks to working with Jawas.
In his offtime, you’ll often find Baarsuth either relaxing in his home in Mos Eisley or at the Swoop Racing track, where he gambles often. Baarsuth loves swoop bike racing with a passion, and is almost always paying attention to the local scene. He drinks, though not as much as some other residents, so he will sometimes go out with other pilots and drink at a local bar. He also loves shooting and hunting. When he’s between jobs, sometimes Baarsuth will go on hunting trips to Wasskah. Baarsuth has also gotten into a form of music called Midale, a fast-paced form of music with lots of loud guitar and drums (It’s metal and hard rock music).

Racial Trait: Trandoshan: As long as you have a reliable food source, you can regenerate lost limbs or body parts in 3d4 days as long as you aren't dead. If you are in combat, this trait takes effect at the end of combat. However, your carnivorous diet and cold-blooded thermophysiology keeps you from digesting vegetation and stunts your regenerative ability in cold environments.
Background Trait: Droid Smuggler: You know just the right space lanes to travel in hyperspace to avoid trouble and can identify the weaknesses of most makes and models of droids. On the downside, you've gotten so good at your job that you've gained a bit of notoriety. There are some who have heard of you who may report you to the local authorities.
Inventory: - Disruptor holdout: A holdout is a small handheld pistol which is very easy to conceal. Baarsuth won this tricky little blaster in a bet with a Kaleesh. Disruptors bypass personal shields, making them extremely deadly. Downside: it’s also very illegal to have one. Baarsuth keeps it tucked away unless he really needs it. Weight: 2.0 lbs.
- Ion Blaster: A Jawa weapon, Ion blasters are essentially suped-up stun guns, firing electrical blasts that can stun organic beings and severely damage the electrical system of a droid. They’re mostly nonlethal to organics, but they will fry a droid quicker than you can say “Turing.” It has an effective range of about twelve meters, though, so it’s more akin to a stun shotgun. Weight: 8.0 lbs.
- Blaster-resistant vest: Baarsuth wears a vest which resists blaster fire. It’s his only sort of armor and can protect against low to medium-strength blaster fire. Weight: 6.0 lbs.
