"Fuck're you looking at?"
[ 24 | 5"8' | Caucasian | He/Him | 150 lbs. ]
Mournful
APPEARANCE
"Yeah, it's hand-me-downs. So what?"
Tristan stands at 5 feet 8 inches, and weighs about 150 pounds. He has fair skin with just a tinge of coloration to it, and bluish brown eyes. He has short, unkempt blonde hair. His body is muscled, with a few scars here and there on his body; The most noticeable one is on his lip he got from a fight a few years back. On his left bicep, he has a tattoo of a snake curled around a moss and rose covered cross. He has trouble sleeping, giving him dirty, sunken eyes. The only real expressions he wears these days are either disinterest, frustration, or anger.
Usually, he wears the bear minimum acceptable; He usually wears a white tank top and dark-green or black sweatpants or cargo pants, along with black tennis shoes with white tinges. At church or other formal occasions, most he'll do is put on a collared short-sleeve shirt. Most of his clothes are either too big or too small, not really giving a mind about sizes whenever he goes to get new clothing.

PSYCHOLOGY
"Don't test me."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ Bring justice to Anne's death.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ The world can be a rough place. You gotta grasp onto the few people you know you can trust and never let go, no matter what. Those few people you can trust, you gotta do everything you can for. Don't you ever let them down.
SECRETS ⫻ Ever since Anne's death, he started heading out each night, hoping to catch The Horde that murdered her. He has little faith he'll even run into them, or even be able to fight them if they do meet. He mostly does it to convince himself he's not wasting time.
SEXUALITY ⫻ Heterosexual
FEARS ⫻ Tristan's biggest fear is letting down those he cares about, those who depend on him. The idea of never being able to make up for your shortcomings and mistakes to them.
REPUTATION ⫻ Tristan's family is pitied by the community for their poverty; A single mother raising two kids (Well, formerly two). They mostly had to subsist on handouts of food drives and other support from the church community, which had the benefit of at least making them active in it.
Ever since Anne's death, both he and his mother were held in even more pity by the community, being a family with only a mother losing her daughter and a brother losing his sister; Ever since he stopped going to church, people have started having unsavory rumors about the nature of his faith.
QUIRKS ⫻ Tristan has a lot of trouble sleeping; He's up at almost all hours of the day and night, save for a few short bursts of sleep at random intervals.
FLAWS ⫻ Shortsightedness and determinism; He'll tear his eyes out and plant them in the dirt just for the chance at getting a better picture at an immediate situation, without even thinking about the future.

BACKSTORY
"What, you actually are asking about my life story?"
As long as he could remember, Tristan's been the man of the house; His dad ran off before he was even born, leaving his mother to raise him almost all by herself. He never found out about her own original family and how they may have helped, and he learned better than to press her about it. Tristan and his family got the short end of the town's stick. They lived in the poorer neighborhoods in Araminta. While the town was surprisingly scarce of crime, the downtown was still a rough place to live; Tristan had to learn at an early age when to stand his ground and fold his cards. They ate more off of food drives and clothed more from christmas donations.
By the time he was 12 years of age, he became an older brother; His mother had been seeing a man for quite some time before discovering she was pregnant again; After becoming resolute on taking care of her second child as well, her boyfriend left, just as Tristan's dad did. While she eventually became a mother of a second child, it only hastened her own stress. As a result, their mother was never there for Anne as much as she could've been for Tristan, almost never being able to make time for them. Tristan himself had to do his best to keep an eye out for her and be there for her as much as he could, leading to a tight-knit bond between the two of them.
Then one night, when he was 24 years of age, she went out to visit some friends; That was the last time he had ever seen her again.
She went missing for the next few days. Tristan himself went looking for her on his own time; He looked everywhere, yet received no inkling to her presence until he met a strange creature; A dog made out of night itself. The Black Shuck. Tristan knew the stories too well; He knew exactly what he would find at the end of it's trail as he followed it down by the river, yet he hoped against hope. He knew it was one urban myth intertwined with a more horrifying one, yet he hoped against hope.
He saw her remains, and he still hoped against hope.
Regardless, Tristan was horribly shaken. He was overcome with guilt and frustration; If only had stopped her from leaving, or walked her there and back, or just said "Careful out there", she wouldn't have run into that fucking Thing. He knew, deep down, the only means of getting closure and righting his own failing was to pursue The Horde himself, investigating it's attacks and hopefully bringing justice to his own mistakes.

SKILLS & TALENTS
"Never went to college. But there are still some things that only Life can teach you."
Streetwise ⫻ Tristan knows how to handle himself on the streets; He knows how to stand your ground if someone wants to start shit, and when to just bow out and save yourself a beating. He can also surf through the streets, finding drug dealers and avoiding bad neighborhoods.
Fighting ⫻ Nothing official or trained, but Tristan can handle himself in a fight. He knows how to turn anything on hand into a weapon, and will fight tooth and nail if left without any options. What he lacks in actual skill, he makes up for in resolve and grit.
