~ Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six - UNION

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- It's the 21st Century, the beginning of an uncertain era. The mechanics of war have undergone major changes following a grueling process which was unwittingly set in motion during the early 60s. Enemies no longer carry flags, uniforms or gear exclusive to their motherland. They no longer speak their language, their accents coated by a thick sludge of deception. The wars we fight in the modern era are silent, bloody and unpredictable. There is no designated battle zone. There is no code of conduct. When the situation elevates, nobody is safe.

It's the year 2016. The US Government continues it's efforts to combat terrorism. The twist is; the threat of terrorism is more imminent than it was sixteen years ago. While the US were raising their shields in response to the actions of foreign insurgents, especially Middle Eastern ones, their circuits were fried on the inside by their own citizens. Tagging themselves as a populist militia group, an organization known as the "True Patriots" have decided to take it upon themselves to punish the 'wicked', those who oppress the majority for their own financial gain. They publicized their existence in July of 2013, after taking responsibility for an attack on a private security firm in Detroit. The company's stocks plummeted and with it so did a lot of Wall Street investors. Later that day, they also released a broadcast revealing their intentions. The fact that a terrorist attack happened under everyone's noses took the world by surprise, shock even. Public support for the "True Patriots" initially grew, but then dwindled after another attack on US soil that resulted in civilian casualties. The American intelligence community and law enforcement agencies were helpless in foreseeing and preventing the oncoming threats, while the "True Patriots" influence spread internationally. They were no longer an isolated issue, prompting NATO to send in their most effective counter-terrorism unit - RAINBOW.

With Team Echo on the forefront, the unit's tasked with averting potential attacks and ending the "True Patriots" once and for all. The unit's modus operandi dictates that the only way to deal with such a force is by employing extreme measures with no regard for ethics.

Sucker Punch.

It was technically an Evanescence music video stretched into a feature length film. It had so much angst and pain you could basically cut it with a knife, sample it and then use it to create depression in human form.
I don't mind playing as someone who's unconventionally attractive, but if I do I usually don't make a big fuss about it. They're either a deranged psychopath who gives zero shits about how they look, or the tone and the setting of the RP is not suitable for my character to have body image issues.

Most of the time though, I choose to play as people who are considered slightly above average. I never use photos of hot Hollywood hunks (or hunkettes). If I choose the photo of a thespian , you bet they're gonna be very obscure and not popular enough to get instant recognition.
I'm on stand by. You make that post, and I'll chuck mine in almost immediately. Guaranteed.
Oh. That whooshed right past my head.

Well, so long. I doubt I'll be here for the reboot, but I guess we'll see. It was nice while it lasted.
@Ruby, for a second there, I thought you were gonna end the RP.

Also, don't worry about us. You take care of real life stuff. That's obviously a priority. We'll somehow survive until you get back.
Anyways. Tomorrow, I will be making a titanpad for ideas.

And I may be making a spin off roleplay for this, soon as well.

Try not to overwhelm yourself. A spin off seems good, but if you even suspect that it'll detract your focus from this RP, then I beg you not to do it.

Also, in the grand scale of things, your RP's also doing fine. For now.

Stripped away from his primary means of transportation by a man that he'd formed an uneasy alliance with, Derrick took his stroll to the streets. An exo ninja walking amidst the population was less than copacetic, even in such a wretched shithole like Gotham, so he had to be careful. GCPD had a firm grip on most of the streets leading out of The Bowery, persuading Derrick to take the unconventional routes; the alleys, the abandoned buildings, et cetera. Practically, it wasn't that difficult, especially considering that it wasn't Spider's first rodeo, but it would have spared him a lot of time if he still had his grappling hook. Carjacking was an option, but one that he wasn't willing to take his chances with. He was too infatuated with his regained freedom to do anything that might rob him from it.

His partner, however, apparently did not bother himself with the same dilemma. The second Spider heard the screams spread out from their rendez-vous spot, he knew Donny had something to do with it. "Fuck!", he muttered to himself. What was until then a jog, now turned into a sprint as Derrick unmistakably increased his tempo. He navigated through the alleyways and the different obstacles with the grace of a stray cat until his path lead him to an open area, the city hall. The heightened civilian activity in the area made Derrick self-conscious for a bit, but he kept his composure once he realized their main goal was to run away from the district. Within his mask, his dark brown eyes moved to his right. His intuition proved him to be correct once again, as he saw Donny holding a woman hostage. Like a stereotypical football coach who just learned his son wants to be a ballerina, Derrick shook his head in disapproval, not breaking eye contact with the ginger psycho, not that eye contact would play a big part since he was wearing his mask. Seeing Donny made him realize he was having cold feet about their arrangement. Off to the far left, his sight shifted towards a blonde haired man, dressed in a messy sort of neat way. Two entirely contrasting fashion styles meshed into one. Without uttering a single world, Derrick removed his left Five-Seven from the holster, aiming it right in between the man's eyes. He could fit a bullet in that spot, even from that considerable distance - he was sure of that. He had no idea what Donny's plan was, but the blondie looked like the human personification of disaster.
Expect a post by tonight.
@Chaotic Chao, the first one. Let them play the game then have the villains interrupt it halfway.
