The scorpion shrieked again, snapping it's claws at Veragwen, though missing her completely. It appeared that all of it's attackers had only managed to infuriate the beast even further, which wasn't a good thing, considering it's size. It's attention drew to the flying dagger, which was deflected away as the beast used it's pincers to protect it's only weak point. After the deflection, the scorpion swung it's left pincer at Caelyn. just managing to graze her midsection. The creature then did something odd, it stopped it's movements and stood there, as if waiting for something. Moments later, it turned it's body to the forest and began to retreat back into it, only to stop at it's edge. Then it began to strike the forest itself, as if it had gone mad, several trees falling. After a few more minutes of this, there was a dying shriek heard, then the scorpion fell limp. What few guards remained alive checked the beast, "Captain, it's...dead. There's no marks of a fatal blow, nor any indication there was an attack item used." one called. As the villagers gathered around the entrance, whispers began to spread, how could such a beast exist? Several villagers began to stare at Nayash, whispering again as they did so, until one finally spoke up. "It was her! She brought that creature with her from the desert! Owen was right all along! She's a witch! Kill her! Kill her now!" Eventually many began to repeat the same thing, the mob of villagers starting to close in around the warrior. The guards that had been examining the scorpion came to Nayash's side, "She couldn't have brought it here, she fought against the beast as well! Do you not think she would have had something to easily beat the monster with and used it at some point?! No, she's innocent!" one of the guards said.
From the shadows of the trees, a man in black robes watched the commotion, a grin on his face. Throwing his hood on, he slowly stepped out of the shadows near the scorpion, everything was going according to plan. "From the netherworld, I return you to your body, unbound by death. Rise again, scorpion of the desert, and be known now as the Death Scorpion. Now go, kill them all." he chanted, placing a hand on the scorpion's corpse. Once he was done, he retreated back into the woods to watch his new pet. The scorpion's brownish-yellow hide instantly changed to black, it's jaws now dripping with the deadly toxin it's tail once had. It slowly rose before letting out an earth-shattering shriek. The villagers turned and saw the creature had risen, then began to flee, causing mass confusion and panic. The black scorpion lowered it's tail, and from it came a black mist that filled the town. Those who were caught breathing it in instantly collapsed and withered away into dust, while those who held their breath found the mist didn't disperse, it remained. Eventually, people started to collapse, unable to hold out for much longer. The black robed man smirked, placing his hand over the unique stone embedded in the hilt of his sword, "Without the power of a Dragoon, you cannot survive. So long, Seles, just one more stepping stone to my ultimate goal." he said, turning from the scene. As he walked away, he was unaware that the stone was glowing, as if calling out. Within the mist, a black glow was seen, as if responding to something.
