Chloe visibly relaxed when Adam broached the topic of thread making. It was familiar territory. "Oh, yeah, I do. It's fairly easy since I grew up doing it with my grandmother but I suppose to other people, it probably looks extremely complicated. Madison thinks so. She's asked me several times to show her how to do it but she never learned," she chuckled, remembering the frustrated look on her bestfriend's face.

She stopped talking when the waitress came over with their food. It was pretty obvious that she was flirting with Adam and while she didn't think it should bother her, it sorta did. When the girl gave her a fake smile, Chloe returned it with a genuine one, albeit small. It's too early to be jealous of some girl smiling at him, isn't it? Get a grip, Chloe, she reminded herself.

When Adam began speaking seriously, Chloe turned her attention back to him, her brows furrowing. Did he notice that I was sorta jealous? Was it obvious? Did it show on my face? Is he angry? she worried. But when he finished his question and laughed, she stared at him for a few seconds before she laughed herself.

"Oh, sorry. Was I too uhm... uptight? I'm not really good with dates... uhm... dinner invitations that isn't from Madison," she quickly corrected herself, worrying that he might think she was assuming too much. Ugh. I'm such a blabbering idiot. Just stop talking before you embarrass yourself more, Chloe, she warned herself and muttered a soft "sorry" under her breath before turning towards her food to hide the embarrassed blush on her cheeks.
@Caits Hi back! Thought I'd make a nice long post. ^_^
@Caits

As the darkness enveloped Caius, he phased into his wolf form, howling up at the moon. He ran in and out of the trees, heading towards the clearing where the other wolves would gather. As he neared the place, he could feel the new minds joining their collective thought. Nervous, excited, uncertain and scared thoughts all filtered into his head followed by Darric's calm, commanding voice. They were all gathered already and he could sense restlessness in the pack. Some of them were revving up for a fight, something that was common on a day like this.

He stepped out of the trees, the moonlight shining on his black fur. Clear blue eyes looked around at the smaller wolves, their new addition, called into the bloodline with the sudden influx of vampires. The growling ceased as several pair of feral eyes rested on Caius.

Darric's laughter echoed in all their minds. The calm that Caius brings with him. Ever since you joined the pack, Caius, all full moons have been easy to manage.

At their leader's words, one wiry haired wolf that was standing closest to Caius bared his teeth and growled low, a clear sign of challenge.

Caius turned his blue eyes to the smaller wolf, bared his own fangs and growled back.

Don't mistake my calmness for gentleness, wolf, Caius warned. But the young wolf had no plans on heeding his peer's word and launched himself, bangs bared and claws extended, ready to tear and maim. Caius met the wolf's attack head on.

The older members of the pack stepped back, including Darric, making way for the first challenge of the night. Those that remained in the center were the new wolves, most of them getting worked up by the courage that the wiry haired one displayed. Some of the more level headed ones stepped back.

Several hours and several fights later, just as Caius was catching his breath from all the challenges he had to take, a malicious singsong voice echoed in the night.

"A gathering of mutts, I see. It'll be so much easier to rid the world of your kind now that you're gathered in one spot." The witch that had attacked Caius and Callie before called out. All wolves turned their attention to where the voice came from. She was floating mid air, the shadows of the trees hiding her from plain view. "Let's make sure you don't interfere this time, Lupo Dio," the witch pointed a finger at Caius and a red sigil appeared underneath his feet. "You'll die a painful death after I deal with your... minions," she added and started raining spells on the other wolves.

Caius poised himself to attack but found that he couldn't move, all four feet glued to the spot where the sigil glowed. Pain lanced through his whole body the more he struggled against it. He saw two young wolves fall dead on the ground as several more witches hovered into view. He struggled harder, the pain intensifying as he did. The older wolves were furiously attacking, managing to catch and tear through two witches who screamed in pain as fangs teared through their flesh. Darric and the silver wolf, Anaia, were heading towards the witch's leader.

His flesh screaming in pain, Caius continued to struggle against the transparent binds that held him in place. He growled, grinding his fangs in frustration. It made no sense why the witch singled him out. He pushed the thought aside and focused on setting himself free.

He could see the witch readying an attack to hurl at both Darric and Anaia. He didn't know how but he knew that it would be fatal to the wolves if the spell hit them. If he could only break free...

And then it happened.

Everything seemed to slow down. As Caius looked around him, he could see wispy strands that snaked up his body from the sigil. While they looked thin and easily broken, they held him in place tightly. With a snarl, he snapped at the strings and as they broke against his fangs, he immediately felt his body become lighter, the pain ebbing away. He didn't waste any more time and shrugged the rest of it off.

As soon as he was free, he launched himself at the witch, catching the full brunt of her spell with his body, the same way he did for Callie. His body immediately became numb and he hit the ground with a thud. At the same time, he heard a scream as the two wolves descended on the witch, his timely intervention letting them successfully proceed with their attack.

Lily was curled on the sofa in the room she shared with Sophia, her eyelids fluttering close. She was slowly drifting off to sleep, her mind filled with thoughts of the brother she had no idea what looked like intermixed with the voices that incessantly whispered about death and destruction. A few more seconds and she would have entered her dream world that was always plagued with nightmares and horrors. A few more seconds and she'll see those faceless people again.

Is one of them Sebastian? she thought in her sleepy daze.

However, before she could completely sink into unconsciousness, a searing pain on her throat made her sit up, her hand automatically touching where it hurt. Her disoriented mind tried to make sense of things. Did she take on another injury? Whose was it? How bad was it?

Her hand touched smooth skin. There were no cuts or burns on it and strangely enough, the voices in her head were quiet. There were no whispers of hurting others. Silence. But while her stigma was silent, the outside world erupted in chaos. There were sudden sirens, rumbling sounds and soldiers barging into their room, one of them pulling her to her feet.

What's happening? She didn't say it out loud. She didn't ask. This was how they were always treated anyway.

The golden haired subnatural blinked the sleepiness out of her eyes as she tried to slowly piece together what was happening. She wasn't hurt. There was no injury to transfer. She was still in the penthouse they had been put up in.

Hostiles in the city.

Monster classified as three.

Evacuate and assault.

What. Is. That? she thought as she looked towards the window, at what looked like an ice colossus coming closer. She didn't have time to think or to notice the other monstrosities that had come down onto the city when the whole world tilted.

She had no time to react, no time to duck and cover when things began falling on her. A cushion blocked her view while some other heavier stuff fell on her. Again, she had barely time to react when she felt someone pull her. She was sandwiched between something soft and a warm body, strong arms holding her in place. At first it was comfortable but the longer she was held that way, the more she found it difficult to breathe. "Can't... breathe..." she muttered and took a sigh of relief as soon as she was released.

As soon as she was free, she froze, her entire body becoming rigid as her senses were bombarded. So many injuries. Broken bones, cuts, bruises... blood everywhere. She didn't need to see them. She can feel them all around her, the he shout that came from the Arbiter that shielded her from injury barely registering to her. She wanted to help everyone, she wanted to take all the injuries at once but she needed to calm herself.

You can't hold them all by yourself, okay? You need to stay alive. Ernie's words echoed in her head.

He was right. She needed to prioritize and not haphazardly taking everything without thought of how she'll be able to handle them herself. She zoned in on the worst of the injuries and even before Brent called out to her, she knew the extent of the damage. Penetrating wounds and broken bones. Two people. But who were they that had been injured that badly?

A feeling of dread came over her even as the black thread materialized on her wrist, it's other end hovering just above her head, waiting for her to direct it to its target. It wasn't the pain that she feared but the violent thoughts that came after it. She came over to the window as fast as she could, sidestepping broken furniture and glass and trying to ignore those with minor injuries. At the corner of her eye, she saw Angelique and felt what was wrong with her even before she heard her say it. The thread above her head floated slightly towards her location but the golden eyed Aberration stopped herself.

Sorry, Angelique. I'll get to you soon, she thought grimly as she stopped just beside Brent. Ernie was there too. She looked down.

Christmas and Sander.

Her eyes took in the scene below them. The healer was bleeding. If she didn't act fast, he would die. But there were broken railings impaling him. She can't transfer those to herself. She needed someone to remove them first before she can take the injuries. And right now, the best person to do it was the person at his side. And that person had broken bones in his legs and a broken left wrist. It was clear who she needed to heal first.

"Take those things stabbing him out, Sander," she called out in a voice that sounded stronger than what she expected. As the words left her mouth, the end of her thread wrapped itself around Sander's wrist.

The small teenager crumpled to the ground as the blood mage's injuries transferred to her.
Hi @BlackPanther! I was thinking if I should bring back Luca or make a completely new character.
@Lionhearted Yup, I think it is. Ashe is probably just waiting for character sheets from the players.

Relax, Chloe. It's just a date. It's not like you're marrying him after, Chloe silently reminded herself, mentally blaming her overprotective parents for making her so shy around boys. Of all four Cooper kids (Chloe included), her parents had always been stricter and more protective of her even though she wasn't the youngest. There was a time in high school when they chased away that boy that brought her flowers. She didn't even go to her prom cause her parents didn't agree with her choice for a date.

In college, she finally got some breathing space and had her first boyfriend. Surprisingly enough, he was the captain of the football team and a popular guy on campus. He was nice and sweet and spent most of his time with her. Chloe did everything for the first time with him. First date, first kiss, first long drive, first intimate encounter... But when she eventually gathered up the courage to bring him home and introduce him to her parents, she found out that he was cheating on her with a cheerleader.

She never dated after that.

She inwardly sighed and hoped that the night will go well without her embarrassing herself again. When Adam asked her where she wanted to go and what she wanted to eat, she gave him a smile and a shrug. "I'm not allergic to anything so you can choose wherever you want to eat."
