Once upon a time, as all stories start, magic dominated the lands. Creatures that cannot be described roamed free and no one was safe from them.
Humans, nor the other races, knew how to harness the magic around them and these creatures could only killed by it, so, only prayers and luck were their only defense.
That is, until one day when their prayers were answered.
Something that wasn't seen in these lands appeared one day and it was capable to heal any injury, rain fire at a flick of its wrist and other miracles. Never this creature spoke a word and soon it was called "The Silent One".
The Silent one roamed the lands and killed all the magical creatures it found, until, one day when it closed the portal they appeared from in the first place.
Some persons of every race was chosen as The Silent One's disciples and taught how to bend the magic around them to their will, as soon as these persons mastered this skill, The Silent One disappeared without trace.
The people that learned to use magic started calling themselves " The Magi ". They, themselves taught others to use magic and soon The Magi Guild was formed.
The original Magi soon found that they aged very slow and soon they were renamed as " The Immortals" while the lesser Magi used the original name of "Magi".
Many years later, the magic that consumed the lands faded and number of persons of any race that could learn how to harness magic lessened, The Immortals started loosing their powers slowly and age soon caught up with them. It was deemed necessary to do something in order to preserve their lives. The strongest of the Immortals sacrificed the lives of the least strongest of them to create an artifact able to harness magic from the air around them. 'Thus the Amulet was created.
But it was not enough. While they didn't loose power anymore, they still aged. Another plan was made. Reduce the number of people from every race so that less Magi would be born. Using the Amulet, creatures akin to what inhabited the lands before The Silent One's arrival were created and turned upon the others people, killing anything that they found.
After a few hard blows against the other races, The Warrior Guild was formed. A union of the races against the rising power of The Immortals and their Magi.
After 70 years of fighting the Warrior Guild, now called The Empire, won the war and enslaved the Magi, killing those of them that were too powerful to be left alive and destroying almost all the inventions made by them.
The Empire enacted the Citadel 75 years after the war. The Magi that are detected with magical talent are sent to the Citadel. An anti-magic prison of sorts. Inside, Magi were imprisoned and most killed.
Anything of magical in nature was brought to the Citadel and then they were examined and either locked inside the Artifactorium or destroyed.
After the theft of the Amulet piece, a group was formed with the Empire's finest and the strongest Magi that were not yet killed, but even them failed their mission. Again and again, groups were sent to retrieve the Amulet pieces and all of them failed.
The Empire decided to throw caution in the wind and sent an army to pacify the Wasteland and retrieve the pieces and that signaled the beginning of the end.
The Magi Saint waited for them with a remade Amulet and when the army came, so did the end of the Empire. Using the Amulet, The Magi Saint consumed the souls of every soldier in the army and then unleashed the magic of the Amulet. The Wall exploded into many, many pieces and an army of magical creatures was let loose.
Magic soon took the lands as it consumed anything it touched and the Empire fell.
Now, a few years later, the lands are very different from what they were. Magic covered the lands and the remaining survivor races put aside feuds and fear of the Magi in order to survive. The Dark Human race was the first to go extinct and soon the Gargantu gone extinct too, followed by the mass slaughter of Kil'garen and Gob. While the first survived in small numbers, the Gob slaves were all killed.
Whatever is left of the Humans,Elfan and Kil'garen races have taken refuge inside The Citadel. The last bastion of a fallen Empire. Screaming defiance at the slowly approaching magical ooze.
No heroes remain in the Citadel, as those died at the start of the war. Refugees, thieves, children and some Magi are the what stand between victory or defeat.
With magic anything and everything is possible. From the smallest fireball to the biggest earthquake spell, from healing a small cut to bringing back the recently dead and the list can continue. But as big is the spell, so is the cost. To heal blindness, one could loose his own sight and to incinerate a person, one could first burn himself.
In 102 AMW, a device is built by the strongest engineers and enchanters of the Empire to negate the costs of these spells and 'thus, the Rings were created. The rings gave the use the power to harness the magic around them and releasing it without having to pay the costs of the spell they cast but it didn't come without it's downsides. While the costs were negated, the knowledge to cast the spell was not so one would need time to study and understand the spell before it could be cast and that was not the only downside, the ring needs time to recharge it's power and so, a Magi could cast any spell he needed but with delays between them.
Magi Spells are categorized in schools of magic and they are :
Map Legend : Blue Terrain = Magical ooze. Wasteland territory.
Red Terrain = Red Sand.
Purple Terrain = Dead land. Death feels at home here.

Anything of magical in nature was brought to the Citadel and then they were examined and either locked inside the Artifactorium or destroyed.
A shadow crept along the walls, as if alive. The Lord Templar guarding the "Artifactorium" didn't noticed anything out of the usual. They seemed to be talking about a certain Mage that was caught training with swords, when the shadow materialized and slashed their necks before they even had time to move a hand.
A Mage soon came out of the shadow.
Shadows crept over his body as armor, his face was covered in shadows. All of it except his neck where an Amulet that was broke hanged from his neck, devouring the shadows as soon as they tried to cover that exposed part of his body. The Mage approached the door and put a finger on the door and a shield of pure light repelled it as soon as it touched the door. The Mage shook his head and put his hand on the Amulet and it glowed slightly and then the door broke in many, many pieces. Revealing the artifacts inside the Artifactorium.
A small army of Templar came out of the halls attracted by the sound and the strong light that emanated from the shield. The Mage turned his head and shook it as he pointed his finger towards a 4 Templar dressed in golden armor and suddenly their eyes turned red.
They stopped in their tracks and turned towards the other Templar and attacked the others. The Mage entered the Artifactorium, closed his eyes and soon the broken Amulet started glowing and in the other part of the Artifactorium another artifact started glowing.
Many artifacts were kept there but the Mage simply ignored them, moving towards the glowing artifact.
After a few minutes, minutes in which the Templar he "persuaded" to join him fought everyone that tried to enter the Artifactorium, he reached the glowing artifact. A small part of the same Amulet he had on his neck. Fire parts were missing from it but with this one, only for remained. He looked at it, grinned and moved his hand over the Amulet piece and it flew into the Amulet around his neck, uniting the two parts. Soon after the Amulet started glowing again and a small explosion of magical energy emanated in the room. The Mage, was of course shielded but nothing else was as everything in the room disintegrated instantly. The Artifactorium, stood now empty and the Mage simply smiled and then simply vanished.
The guards that protected the Mage were killed and more guards poured in the room, only to see it empty.

Magi Spells are categorized in schools of magic and they are :
Races Available
- Human : The main population of Mal'Gar ( the world's name). They could be found anywhere in the world before EOT, now their population is counted at several hundreds.
Note : Non-Magi Characters cannot cast spells. - Kil'garen : The Kil'garen live separate from the Empire being the only race that maintained it's neutrality in the Magi War. They are humanoid in shape but have a fur all over their skin, got a tail, green eyes and cat-like ears. Even if they live outside Empire territory, they still subject themselves to the laws of the Empire due to being afraid of a invasion. Now, only a handful remain and old feuds no longer matter.
Note : Non-Magi Characters cannot cast spells. - Elfan (Elves) : The Elfan had the second biggest population before the Humans, now, their population is counted at a few hundred as most Elfan stayed behind to defend their, now fallen, homeland.
Note : Non-Magi Characters cannot cast spells.
