Sorry I haven't been on in a few days, guys! I'm feeling sick, so going to retire, but will hopefully have time after work tomorrow.

Plans for today: clean, reply to Guild messages, work on belated Christmas gift. Repeat. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

Ah, 3a.m. We meet again. My sleep schedule's become really screwy, and it's messing with my ability to keep up with things. I promise I'm keeping a running tally of my PMs; responses may just be slow.

Today's agenda: 30 minutes of cleaning, 20 minutes of crochet/reading/Guild time; repeat until either house looks less terrifying or it is dark outside.

Yesterday, was dispirited because my interest check wasn't getting any hits. Today, bumped it and came back to three messages, TWO of them referencing The Princess Bride. [delighted cackling]

Bio
This bio is a work-in-progress! For now, here are the basics:
Marcie
29
Hamlet fixation
Lover of all things fantastic, supernatural, and just plain cool
Sucker for character-driven stories
Terrible at plot, but always happy to brainstorm
And, most importantly: very friendly, so please say hi!
I tried to break it up so we had an even dispersal of abilities, no doubling up on similar ones... Ended up happening anyway with the addition of a third strength based ability but that's okay. If Jouska, Pathfinder or both are still interested, their abilities might end up changing the entire teams structure. And I also took a few of the personalities into account, hoping that will stir up some drama. Need to keep things interesting do we not? XD
I like the way you think, Libby. (Is it okay to call you that?) I think we, too, shall be great friends... [evil laughter]
Also, yes, have fun tomorrow! I should def. be home Sunday night (and probably around tomorrow night, sometime, if anybody wants to chat!)
It'll vary. One team might go on a mission while the other is in training... They might go on different missions, they might go on the same mission and they might even go on different missions that result ina "coincidental" crossover. It wont be entirely missions either, this RP will also cover their daily lives, more or less. They'll have training to keep them in shape, often in the form of games. One team vs the other. ^.^ And the characters will all be living together in a facility built especially for them, so we can see the comedic outcomes of dorm life.
I am 100% about all of this. Let the roommate shenanigans ensue!
I apologize in advance for the headaches Tavi may cause other team members.
I would, in return, like to apologize for any food Alex manages to disappear from the fridge.
Also, you realize, @Dubwarlock, that if they do indeed end up on the same team, Alex is going to want Shaun to teach her how to hit things.
@The_Full_Spektrom, we haven't yet been introduced, but your character looks like tons of fun!
@WeepingLiberty I can't wait! Will our teams be taking on jobs separately, or joining up together on occasion? (Or, you know, having unexpected crossovers. "What a crazy-random-happenstance!")
Appearance: Alex was born willowy, but a dancer’s dedication has made her five-foot-six frame a little more solid. She’s a third-generation American from a melting-pot of a family, but her Indo-African roots show in her loose brown curls and skin that looks half a shade too dark for the freckles smattered across her nose. She has a cluster of flowers tattooed on her right shoulder, a product both of her love of pretty things and her curiosity about the sting of a tattooist’s needle (it was a thrill, but not one she’s likely to repeat).
She likes flowy garments—loose tunics; lacy dresses; skirts that swish—but compromises for practicality when on assignment. A few layered tank tops, a cluster of necklaces, and a myriad collection of jackets and cardigans make up her primary Guardian uniform.
Personality: She’s very physical, but not very violent. Alex likes tactile things: the press of a kiss, the taste of coffee, the feel of silk on her skin. Given the choice, she would go everywhere barefoot.
When it comes to being in the field, she’s good at rolling with the punches, but when it comes to dealing with people, she’s on the sensitive side—she tries to hide it, but her feelings are easily hurt, and it’s hard for her to let go of something once it’s said or done.
Motive: Alex’s last relationship was physical...and violent. She did get out eventually, but it left her feeling uncomfortably powerless. Her choice to volunteer was made in a particularly desperate moment; later, she was ashamed to be doing something so noble for so selfish a reason, but couldn’t bring herself to withdraw.
Ability: Why fix what’s not broken? The government researchers seem to agree, because they didn’t give Alex powers so much as build on ones she already had: stamina and strength. These enhancements are fairly passive, as superpowers go, but they make her a great partner: it takes her a long time to get tired, which means she can support someone else on the team who’s worn out or injured, and she can take a beating, which means she can draw fire when necessary, whether as a distraction or to provide temporary relief.
The flip side of this is that these abilities are bolstered by adrenaline, which means that it’s easy for Alex to overextend herself in a fight and not realize it until after the fighting’s done, at which point, the pain or exhaustion can be downright debilitating.
Team: TBA
Extras: Alex is friendly and easy to get along with, so she has plenty of acquaintances, but she only has one best friend: Jericho, with whom she keeps in constant touch (and who is not entirely thrilled with her decision to become a Guardian).
@WeepingLiberty Thank you! I'm excited to be here. :) It's been a long time since I role-played on a forum, so please let me know if I make any silly mistakes.
...Such as with my CS, which will hopefully be successfully posted under this cut:

Hi there! @WeepingLiberty, do you guys have room for one more, or are you pretty much at capacity? Sorry, I know I'm skating in at the last minute--I've been skimming the forums for a couple weeks, but this is my first day with an account! I've got a CS sketched out, if it helps, but I understand if you don't want to get overwhelmed with too many players.
