Walking down the hall while taking the tour, Thomas couldn't help but chuckle when the living arrangements were fully explained. He could do whatever he wanted with the room? How fun. Nothing would be done. Thomas liked his monotonous room, lacking of anything that could taunt him at night. Then one of his team asked a very important question.

"Pardon," Tavi, the man with flair asked, "Where will the washrooms be? I trust they're not communal."

That was a question that Thomas thought would be important to know, now that it had been brought up. He hoped that they were private, as he not only was very self-conscious, but he also would feel embarrassed around other.... naked people.

"Technically it is communal," Silvia explained, "Designed similarly to the Japanese bath house. There's a main room with some cubbies where you all can store your shower supplies but two separate bathing areas for your preferred gender. Each side has both a set of shower stalls as well as a bath large enough to fit ten people. Personally I like the bath."

Joy. Just what Thomas needed: More things to worry about.

Thankfully, Thomas was able to keep his emotions under control, as Silvia has explained that there were, in fact, shower stalls. As long as he would not be forced to be naked in front of others, Thomas would be okay. He could deal with seeing others naked. He tried to hide the blood that rushed to his cheeks from nervousness as he stood silent.

Thomas looked over as a young woman approached him and held out her hand.

"Hi," she said, "I'm Alex."

Being the extremely courteous man Thomas prided himself in being, he immediately took her hand in both of his and gave a firm, but reassuring shake, immediately shifting to holding just the girl's fingertips. He brought her hand up to his lips and gave a small, gentle peck.

"Thomas," he said, smiling as he lifted his head and slowly released her hand, "A pleasure."

He could sense a small amount of nervousness and tried using the eye contact he made to pull it away from Alex to leave her with a calming sensation if possible.

"Looks like we shall be together on a team." Thomas gave a heartwarming smile.

Thomas cringed when the names first started being placed, but then gave a sigh of relief when he was placed on Silvia's team. Thomas felt like he belonged on a team that wouldn't necessarily have a 'joker' as its leader. He quickly shook his head.

Nothing against Caden, Thomas snapped to his inner narrative-- using his inner narrative (wierd, I know)-- But he does seem like the kind of guy who would crack a joke and THEN crack some necks, rather than the other way around. I'm glad I was put where I am.

Thomas laughed to himself and let a small smile show without realizing it. It was a strange feeling to have again-- happiness, that is. Laughter was something Thomas was having to get used to again, as with the last few months being absolute torture. The entire training, Thomas had spent trying to learn to control his power over nightmares and phobias. It never helped when he could hear the screams of the people passing by his room. Going into defensive mode during that time, his mind would constantly shoot out waves of immense fear, weaving their way into anyone's mind who drew too close. Now, Thomas was glad to say that he could manage the thoughts in his head and would be able to keep from letting his power roam free.

Now I control my power. And never again will I let it control me.

Just go with the flow. Introduce your character to the group in a way that makes the character unique. Make her define herself in her actions. Make her seem alive and real.

If you somehow were able to remove fear using a memory affection, it could cut Thomas completely off.

As well as the conditioning is possible. But normally, Thomas refuses to expose anyone to his power (other than a calming effect) unless they are going against him or his authority figures. And when he does expose someone to it, it hits like a crater. He won't hold back.

Thomas had sat through a question and some skippy answer by the authority without making a sound. But when that authority was questioned, he could not just sit by.

"I am sure that there is some legitimate reason that they could neither do that nor are able to tell us why."

Sadly, due to him standing up, he started to worry and instinctively, he defended his mind by taking the fear from his own mind and pulsing it out, in an attempt to reduce his own worry. It worked, but he quickly caught his action and started working to draw it back, starting with the director and moving around the room.

As Thomas made it to the two Angels, however, he noticed a great lack of fear. Like they were machines. This stuck him as extremely odd, but he blew it off.

Actually, yes. But even when he is not channelling his power, Thomas is constantly absorbing small bits of fear from everyone within about 5 miles of him in any direction. Not enough to calm them, nor enough to do drastic measures to his psycky (no effin clue how to spell that), but over time, it has caused him to go insane. With his power, he basically trades fear the way heat transfers. I was going to do it by touch originally, but i decided that since most brainwave powers are based on proximity, i would make it all eye contact (you also cannot really remain in eye contact from so far away, so it does still greatly limit his power cabability, making his advantage mostly on emotional instability of a person)
