Wasn't incest involved? My knowledge of Egyptian myths is nowhere near as abundant as that of my Greek myths, but if I recall correctly I think incest was involved in some way.

Most of my knowledge of Egyptian mythology comes from the Kane Chronicles, I think the simplest explanation is that the myths changed drastically throughout the history of the Egyptian empire becoming one thing or another as the society evolved. Though yes most of the gods had kids with their siblings, it was creepily normal. Geb and Nut, Isis and Osiris' parents were brother and sister.

That's right! The genealogies were interesting because some of the deities have gender counterparts to themselves, which could really complicate things on top of the particular deities who were self-created rather than given birth to.

Then there was the bit where Horus was both the brother and the son of Isis and Osiris, not sure how that happens.

Actually, it's the other way around even though it's very similar! Apophis is generations older than Horus, as he belongs in the same generation of Ra. Whereas Horus was the deity of the skies, Apophis is mostly believed to have existed in the underworld even after Ra fought him successfully. Zeus is younger than Cronus. xD

Ack got those mixed up, Cronus carrying around Zeus' lightning bolt.

Also wasn't Horus some form of war god? He was two generations down from the Goddess that embodied the sky.

Nut -> Osiris and Isis -> Horus

Though the Egyptian divine genealogies were super fucked up.

I don't think anyone did, the first posts went up while I was still in line for approval so I think the most there is in reference is vague allusions to other newcomers to the group.

@Nariata I plan on editing my initial post. I feel it's rather lacklustre and doesn't reflect my character very well. I was wondering if I could have permission to have Susanna not be initially part of the group. Instead she's converging on the same village as she believes it holds information related to the ritual that Argent used to bind Lilith in her soul and how to undo it. What do you think?

Sapphire shrugged at his question, as though her activity wasn't really all that important. "Was going to go down to Forever Fall to test weapons designs, mine's not exactly been sitting right with me lately." She could tell he was eager to get off the topic of the circumstances around his removal for school for two weeks but Sapphire was still curious. Not just about the actual suspension but about the reasons leading to the fight. Best to approach that one indirectly though. "You'll be happy to hear that Ivan left the school, something about 'academy standards should be higher' and 'can't be in class with a damn terrorist'" she said doing an exaggerated impression of Ivan's self righteously arrogant tone. "To be honest I didn't really expect him to last. Too much steam, not enough fire."
